Robert Lodge Wynn
OCEAN VIEW -- Robert Lodge Wynn, age 34, of Ocean View died Saturday, May 7, 2005, in Snow Hill.
Mr. Wynn had been working at the time of his death as a maintenance supervisor for Bethany Beach for six years. He also owned and operated R L Wynn Landscaping in Ocean View. He was an excellent guitar player and enjoyed boating and skiing. Mr. Wynn will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
He is survived by his mother, Judith "Brittingham" Bye and her husband, Michael, of Charlotte, N.C.; four brothers, Patrick Brittingham Wynn of Raleigh, N.C., Christopher Scott Wynn of Atlanta, Samuel Nevin Wynn of Lewes and Theodore Wollings Bye III of Charlotte; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was predeceased by his father, Richard Nevin Wynn, in 1994; his grandmother, Virginia H. Wynn; and his grandfather, Archie Brittingham.
Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel in Lewes, where the family will receive friends today from 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral service will be at St. Peters Episcopal Church, Second Street in Lewes, on Thursday at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Mark Harris and the Rev. Pat Byrd officiating. Interment will be in Bethel Methodist cemetery in Lewes.

Hill, Mary

Mary Jean Hill of Lewes, DE died on Tuesday, June 3, 2003 at Christiana Medical Center, Newark DE. She was 73.
Born on February 27, 1930 in Delmar, DE, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Agnes Matthews Hill. Mrs. Hill was a former member of the Kent & Queen Anne’s Rescue Squad in Chestertown, Md. and a member of the St. Jude Catholic Church in Lewes, DE. She enjoyed sewing and surf fishing. She tried to go everyday during the summer. She loved to cook and always made sure there was plenty to eat when the family was there to visit.
In addition to her husband, John I. Hill she is survived by two sons, John M. Hill of Chestertown, MD and Andy P. Hill of Prince William, VA; a daughter, Jackie Helmer of Charleston, SC and ten grandchildren. Mrs. Hill is preceded in death by a son, Francis Joseph Hill.
A Funeral Liturgy will be held on Monday, June 9, 2003 at 11:00 AM at St. Dennis Roman Catholic Church, Galena, MD.
Interment will be in Delaware Veterans Cemetery, St. George’s, DE.

Manie B. Harper of Denton, MD died on Sunday, June 1, 2003 at Ruxton Health of Denton. She was 84.
Born January 10, 1919 in Talbot County, she was the daughter of the late M.B. and Ollie Duncan Crockett. She attended Talbot County Public Schools. In 1941 she married
W. Raleigh Carroll, Jr., their marriage ended in divorce in the 1960’s.
Mrs. Harper is survived by four children, Winford B. “Winnie” Carroll of Easton, Evelyn C. Smith of Greensboro, Rosanna C. Elliott of East New Market and Sharon C. Sarver of Greensboro; a sister, Evelyn Somers of Tilghman; eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Two sisters are deceased.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 5, 2003 at 11:00 AM at Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, Easton, MD, where friends may call on one hour prior to the service.
Burial will be at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Easton, MD.

Leoma Etta Frank of Stevensville died Wednesday, June 11, 2003 at Heartland House Assisted Living Home in Grasonville, MD. She was 98.
Born in Baltimore, MD on April 30, 1905 she was the daughter of the late John W. and Mary Grace Lingan. She graduated from Western High School, class of 1921. She married
Alfred H. Frank of Baltimore, MD and made their home in Linthicum, MD. Mr. Frank died in 1952. During her career she worked for Baltimore Enamel and Greenmount cemetery as a secretary and retired in 1970.
She was a member of the Kent Island United Methodist Church and was the oldest living member of the Arundel Chapter of the Eastern Star.
Mrs. Frank is survived by one sister, Vernell Marvel of Grasonville, MD; one niece, Leoma Stahl of Stevensville, MD and two nephews, Barry Stahl of Ingleside, MD and Donald Lingan of Davidsonville, MD.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Dela Bowser and two brothers, Leslie Lingan and Calvin Lingan.
Friends and Family may call at Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home in Chester, MD on Sunday, June 15, 2003 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM.

Foster, Betty W.

Betty Anne Wheat Foster of Cordova, MD died on Friday, June 6, 2003 at Kent-Queen Anne’s Hospital, Chestertown, MD. She was 88.
Born May 3, 1915 in Sewickley, PA, she was the daughter of the late William R. and Hazel Cook Wheat, Jr. She always enjoyed the movies, as her father built and operated one of the earliest American motion picture theaters in 1916. She attended the Sewickley Academy and graduated from St. Mary’s School for Girls in Peekskill, NY. In 1939, she married
the love of her life, Samuel Davis Foster, Jr. of Pittsburgh, PA. The couple moved to Annapolis and traveled to various Army posts during World War II until Sam was sent to Europe. He later retired from the Marine Corp as a Lt. Colonel. After the war, in 1946, they moved to the Arnold farm that they named Glen Oban. During those years, Betty was an active community volunteer. She served as a Cub Scout den mother, and in the women’s guilds of Anne Arundel General Hospital and St. Anne’s Episcopal Church, Annapolis. In 1970, Betty and Sam moved to the Eastern Shore and made their home in St. Michaels where they enjoyed sailing the Bay and entertaining friends and family. After her husband’s death in 1982, Betty continued her volunteer work for Christ Church in St. Michaels. She was also a volunteer for the Talbot Hospice Foundation and a member of the St. Andrews Society of The Eastern Shore, which was founded by “Colonel Sam”.
Mrs. Foster is survived by two daughters, Helen Bradley Foster of Minnesota and Terry Foster Richetta of Arizona; two sons, Samuel Davis Foster III of Annapolis and William Harter Foster of Cordova; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Just six months ago, her brother, William Robert Wheat III of Sewickley, PA, preceded her in death at the age of 95.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 18, 2003 at 11:00 AM at Christ Church, St. Michaels, MD.

Terry L. Dagenias of Millington, MD died Wednesday, June 4, 2003 in the Christiana Medical Center, Newark, DE from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was 43.
Mr. Dagenias is the son of Lester J. Dagenais of Rock Hall, MD and Ida Metzger of Millington, MD.
He worked as a Binder Foreman for the Mercantile Press Co. in Wilmington, DE for 17 years. He enjoyed sports and was an active league bowler, and played softball for both Austin Carpet teams and he also enjoyed hunting and collecting. Terry loved spending time with his family and enjoyed family gatherings, eating and loving his children were top priorities.
In addition to his parents, Terry is survived by his wife, Lydia V.Dagenais; two daughters, Ashley M. and Lora L. Dagenais, both of Millington, MD; a son, Keith A. Jacob of Madison TN; four brothers, Joseph J.Dagenais of Warren OH, Ric W. Dagenias of Wearer, NH, Greg Metzger of Galena, MD and Michael Metzger of Millington, MD; his step-mother, Judy Dagenais of Rock Hall, MD and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 9, 2003 at 11AM from the Fellows Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, P.A., 370 W. Cypress St., Millington, MD where friends and family may call from 6-8PM on Sunday, June 8, 2003.
Interment will be in the Wesley Cemetery, Rock Hall, MD.

Cryer, Henrietta H.

Henrietta Helen Cryer of Easton, MD, formerly of Baltimore, died on Monday, June 9, 2003 at Memorial Hospital at Easton. She was 85.
Born January 17, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Walter E. and Henrieta Seymour Cryer. After graduating from Trappe High School, she attended Goldie Beacom Business College in Wilmington, DE where she graduated with honors. After working in Wilmington as a clerk-bookkeeper for Continental American Life Insurance Company and then Atlas Powder Company, a subsidiary of DuPont, she, in 1944 returned to Talbot County. She worked as a secretary for several attorney’s including John Clarence North, Lee Gillis and James Stewart and as a private secretary at Poplar Island Yacht Club. From 1967 to 1968 she worked for the U.S. Dept. of Interior at the biological laboratory in Oxford, MD. In 1969 she moved to Baltimore where she retired in 1985 after 16 years as patron claims investigator for Chessie Systems Railroads.
Miss Cryer is survived by a sister, Dorothy Kirby and her husband Bobby of Easton, and a nephew, Dale Kirby of Tucson, AZ. A brother, Walter E. Cryer, Jr. and two sisters, Mildred C. Wilson and Anna M. Nelson are deceased.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, June 13, 2003 at 2:00 PM at Spring Hill Cemetery, Easton. MD.
