Metha Johnson Hastings
DELMAR -- Metha Johnson Hastings, 84, of Delmar died Sunday, Jan. 29, 2006, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury.
Born in New Jersey, she was a daughter of the late Raymond and Lillie Johnson Shedaker.
Mrs. Hastings was a longtime member of St. Stephens Church in Delmar. She was also a member of the Delmar Senior Center, a group that would meet regularly at the Delmar VFW. She was proud to be a homemaker and enjoyed making crafts with needlepoint and quilting afghans and quilts for her family and friends. Many years ago she was a member of the Delmar Homemakers Club. She also enjoyed spending her time gardening and grew various plants and flowers -- roses being her favorite. She loved children and was a baby sitter not only for family but for friends as well.
She is survived by four children, Joeanne Willey, Margaret Downey and Stayton L. Hastings, all of Delmar, and Sandra Donohoe and her husband, Phil, of Mardela Springs; four grandchildren, Tallie Figgs and her husband, Lonnie, of Delmar, Eric Willey and his wife, Molly, of North Carolina, Stayton M. Hastings of Salisbury and Michael Donohoe of Mardela Springs; a stepgrandson, Robert K. Hurley Jr. and his wife, Jeri Beth, of Salisbury; three great-grandchildren, Seth, Luke and Cassie Figgs of Delmar; and two stepgreat-grandchildren, Cade and Ciera Hurley of Salisbury. She is also survived by a sister, Mildred Hastings of Laurel; a brother, Edward Shedaker of Salisbury; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd L. Hastings, who passed in 1976; a brother, William Shedaker; and a sister, Catherine Harrison.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Short Funeral Home at 13 E. Grove St. in Delmar, where family and friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m. The Rev. Marsha Carpenter will officiate. Interment will follow the services in St. Stephens cemetery in Delmar.

Patricia Ann Jenkins
SNOW HILL -- Patricia Ann Jenkins of Snow Hill, born Jan. 16, 1955, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2006, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury.
Born in Salisbury, she was a daughter of the late Theodore and Doretha Jenkins.
She was a member of Hutt's Memorial United Church, where she served as a children's choir and Bible study leader. She was employed as a custodian at the Maryland Rest Area in Pocomoke City and at New Hope Village Apartments in Snow Hill.
Loving memories will be cherished by a son, John "JP" Johnson and his wife, Kamesha; a daughter, Tavonne "Nicky" Johnson of Snow Hill; five grandchildren, Brittaney, Jahniqua, Shaquia and TaJohn Johnson and Alexis Collick, all of Snow Hill; four brothers, James Jenkins and his wife, Brenda, of Virginia, Virgil Jenkins and his wife, Barbara, of Salisbury, Jerome Jenkins and his wife, Ruth Ann, of Delmar and Maurice Jackson of Snow Hill; five sisters, Diane and Pamela Jenkins of Snow Hill, Selena Jenkins of Salisbury, Debora Cottman and her husband, LeRoy, of Germany and Veronica Fisher and her husband, Rodney, of Pocomoke City; one goddaughter, Kadezia Finney of Pocomoke City; eight aunts; six uncles; four devoted friends, Ann Palmer, Ollie DeShields, Regina Purnell-Goss and Franklin Bratten; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Doris Lee Shockley.
A funeral service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Snow Hill, where friends may call Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. Interment will be in Hutts Memorial cemetery in Snow Hill.

John Paul Derry
SALISBURY -- John Paul Derry, 48, of Salisbury died Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2006, as a result of an automobile accident.
Born in Salisbury, he was a son of the late Norman Vincent and Madeline Chicone Derry.
Mr. Derry was a 1976 graduate of James M. Bennett High School. He was a hydraulics technician, working for TTI Mobility Products in Fruitland. He loved the outdoors and cooking on his grill.
He is survived by his companion of 17 years, Lynn Dukes Trice of Salisbury; a sister, Joan Marie Derry of Tampa, Fla.; a brother, David N. Derry and his wife, Fran, of Salisbury; a stepbrother, Gary Lee and his wife, Julie Delaney, of Wake Forest, N.C.; his stepmother, Betty Derry of Berlin; and Sherrie and Tyler Upton of Gumboro.
A funeral service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Holloway Funeral Home. Friends may call Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m. and Monday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. The Rev. J. Harvey Dixon will officiate. Interment will be in Wicomico Memorial Park in Salisbury.

Harry Nice Catlin
PRINCESS ANNE -- Harry Nice Catlin, 67, of Princess Anne died Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2006, at University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore.
Born in Fairmount on July 7, 1938, he was a son of the late Elmer F. Catlin and Keturah Catlin.
Mr. Catlin owned and operated Catlin's Paving in Princess Anne for 25 years.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Joyce Webster Catlin of Princess Anne; a sister, Adelean Hinks and her husband, Joseph, a sister, Dolly Bozman and her husband, William, and a brother, Delano Catlin and his wife, Eula, all of Upper Fairmount; and a sister, Alice Ann Webster and her husband, Jennings, of Princess Anne. He is also survived by an aunt, Effie Somers of Princess Anne; a special nephew, David Jones and his wife, Sandy; his best buddy, a golden retriever, Beau; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Late brothers and sisters were Ross Irving Catlin, William "Kate" Catlin, Willard Catlin, Bill Catlin, Dora Marie Brittingham and Ileana Jane Jones.
A funeral service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Hinman Funeral Home in Princess Anne, where friends may call from 12:30 to 2 p.m. The Rev. Harvey Tyler will officiate.
Interment will be in Beechwood cemetery in Princess Anne.

Joanne Dryden Hastings
SALISBURY -- Joanne Dryden Hastings, 64, of Salisbury died Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2006, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center.
Born in Wilmington, she was the daughter of the late Woodrow and Gladys Crowley Dryden. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Hastings.
She is survived by a brother, Woodrow Ronnie Dryden and his wife, Valarie, of Georgetown; three nephews, Ronnie Dryden, Jimmy Dryden and Michael Dryden, all of Salisbury; and a close companion, Walt Lemon of Salisbury.
A funeral service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Holloway Funeral Home. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Howard Travers will officiate. Interment will be in Franklin City cemetery in Greenbackville.

James R. "Jim" Dolan
GREENBACKVILLE -- James R. "Jim" Dolan, 88, of Captains Cove in Greenbackville died Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2006, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury.
Born July 12, 1917, in Hoboken, N.J., he was the last of 21 children of the late Peter and Anna Witt Dolan. His wife, Adelaide E. Dolan preceded him in death Nov. 22, 2004.
Mr. Dolan was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in Pocomoke City.
He is survived by a daughter, Anne Marie Ryan and her husband, John, and a son, James R. Dolan Jr. and his wife, Maureen, all of Captains Cove; six grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church on Market Street in Pocomoke City. The Rev. William J. Porter will officiate.

Terrie Lea Bozman
DAMES QUARTER -- Terrie Lea Bozman, 49, formerly of Dames Quarter, died Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2006, at Deer's Head Center in Salisbury.
Born in Dames Quarter on Feb. 20, 1957, she was a daughter of the late William C. Bozman and Eva Lea Bozman.
She was a 1975 graduate of Washington High School and had formerly worked for the Princess Anne town office.
Terrie was a member of Walker Memorial Church of God in Princess Anne, where she taught a Sunday school class for small children. Her favorite pastime was roller skating.
She is survived by eight brothers and sisters, Libby Parks and her husband, Preston, of Princess Anne, Billy Jean Miller and her husband, Larry, of Salisbury, William "Pee Wee" Bozman of Annapolis, Everett Bozman of Champ, Jerry Bozman and his wife, Mary Beth, Charles "Peanut" Bozman and his wife, Terry, Irene Bozman and Bonnie Wells and her husband, Bobby, all of Princess Anne. She is also survived by six nieces, Amber Bozman, Dolly Bennett, Rebekah Bozman, Jessica Wells, Sarah Wells and Carlie Bozman; seven nephews, Jamie Parks, Jason Miller, John Bozman, Lee Bozman, John Calvin Jones, Anthony Wells and Ryan Bozman; and one great-niece, Alexis Bozman.
Two sisters, Margaret Vaughn and Doris Ann Bozman, and a nephew, Robert Wells Jr., preceded her in death.
A funeral service will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Hinman Funeral Home in Princess Anne, where friends may call tonight from 7 to 9 and Friday one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Phillip Morris will officiate. Interment will be in St. Peter's United Methodist cemetery in Oriole.
The family deeply appreciates the care shown to Terrie by the doctors, nurses and staff at Deer's Head Center, the Manokin Manor Nursing Home and the Alice Byrd Tawes Nursing Home.
Mary Holloway Farnandez
GREENVILLE, Del. -- The children of Mary Holloway Farnandez are sad to announce the passing of their mother on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2006, in Greenville. Mary, 81, was born Nov. 24, 1924, in Berlin, a daughter of Martin Jerome Holloway and Della Kate Cropper Holloway.
Her husband, Francis Farnandez, died in 1994.
She was an active participant in her children's schools as a PTA parent, homeroom mother, field trip chaperone, and in many other clubs and activities. Mary practiced her citizenship as a frequent volunteer at the voter polls and participated in the campaigns of several Delaware elected officials.
She was a Sunday school teacher and a member of Faith Lutheran Church for many years. She has been a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church since 1988. Mary enjoyed and treasured her participation in groups and the relationships she had with the many friends at both of these churches. She had complete trust in the Lord.
She is survived by her six children, Shirley F. Schilling of Hilton Head, S.C., Francis Farnandez Jr. of Homosassa, Fla., Linda Hornsby of Salisbury, Kathleen Farnandez of San Antonio, John H. Farnandez of Carlsbad, Calif., and Dawn J. Sakeley of Wilmington. She has 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her immediate family, Mary is survived by her sisters, Julia Widic of Fredericksburg, Va., and Ruth Bailey, Madlyn Massey, Violet Lynch, Christine Brasure and sister-in-law, Irma Holloway, all from Maryland's Eastern Shore.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Calvin, Edward and Vincent Holloway, and sisters, Frances Hudson, Rosalie Davis, Edith Volger, Reba Dennis and Dorothy Brittingham.
A memorial service celebrating Mary's life is scheduled for Friday at 1 p.m. at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 501 Duncan Road, Wilmington, Del. 19809. A reception will immediately follow the service at the church facilities.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to Delaware Hospice, 3515 Silverside Road, Wilmington, Del. 19810; or St. Mark's Lutheran Church.
