Mary Hastings Birch
IRONSHIRE - Mary Hastings Birch, 84, died Thursday, Oct. 23, 2003 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Towson.
Born in Ironshire, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Viola Bassett Hastings.
She was a devoted homemaker and member of Bowen United Methodist Church in Newark.
She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Daniel Birch in 1993.
She is survived by her daughter, Freda and her husband Joseph LiPira, Sr. of Baltimore; two grandchildren, Vincent Joseph LiPira, Jr. and Angela Maria LiPira both of Baltimore; three sisters, Lena Butler of Newark, Dorothy Smullen of Girdletree and Doris Brittingham and her husband Paul of Parsonsburg; a sister-in-law, Mildred Hastings of Ironshire; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Charles Fred Hastings, Edwin Hastings and Lester Hastings.
Services were held on Monday, Oct. 27 at Evergreen cemetery in Berlin.

Doris Mae Dennis
WHALEYVILLE - Doris Mae Dennis, 82, died Thursday, Oct. 23, 2003 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury.
Born in Millsboro, Del., she was the daughter of the late Grover and Hester Callaway.
Mrs. Dennis was a member of Taylorville United Methodist Church near Berlin.
She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond Lee Dennis in 1986.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Clarence "Lee" and Trudy Dennis of Whaleyville; 3 grandchildren, Bryan, Lani and Shawn Dennis; 4 great-grandchildren, Chelsea Molnar, Kara Cooper, Gabrielle Dennis, and Ezekiel Dennis; 3 brothers, Joe Callaway of Florida, Paul Callaway of Georgia and Tom Callaway of Milford, Del.; a sister, Florence Morris of Millsboro, Del.; and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held on Monday, Oct. 27 at Franklin cemetery in Franklin City, Va.

Shirley M. Hazard
OCEAN CITY- Shirley M. Hazard, 73, died Saturday, Oct. 25, 2003 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center.
Born in Baltimore, Md., she was the daughter of the late Christopher and Helen Milke.
Mrs. Hazard was a partner of the Stardust Motel in Ocean City. She was also a member of Holy Savior Catholic Church in Ocean City and a charter member of Ocean City Hotel-Motel-Restaurant Association.
She was preceded in death by her husband Paul J. Hazard.
She is survived by her caregivers; a son, Christopher Hazard and his wife Karen; a daughter, Ann Hales and her husband Steve; a son Michael Hazard and his wife Linda, all of West Ocean City; 5 grandsons, Andrew Hales, Kevin Hales, Bryan Hazard, Justin Hazard, and Spencer Hazard; and a special friend, Mary Pat Carozza of Ocean Pines.
Services were held on Wednesday, Oct. 29 at the Hastings Funeral Home in Selbyville, Del. with burial at Sunset Memorial Park in Berlin.

Beverly M. Toncic
OCEAN CITY - Beverly M. Toncic, 64, died Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2003 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury.
Born in Ford City, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Frantz Myers and Alma Riggle Myers.
She is survived by her husband, Ivan Toncic; two sons, Ivan Toncic, Jr. and his wife Joanne of Bear, Del. and Terry Toncic and his wife Angela of Conowingo, Md.; a daughter, Tamara Toncic of Frederick, Md.; two grandchildren, Christina Toncic and Timothy Toncic; a sister, Suzanne Bruce and her husband Edgar of State College, Pa.; and a beloved dog, Bear.
Services were held on Friday, Nov. 21 at Burbage Funeral Home in Berlin.

Margaret M. Coyle
OCEAN PINES - Margaret M. Coyle, 75, died Monday, Nov. 17, 2003 at Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin.
Born in Flushing, N.Y., she was a daughter of the late Steven F. and Florence D. Woods.
Margaret and her husband first moved to Ocean Pines in 1990, and then became permanent residents upon his retirement. She was an active member of St. John Neumann Church.
She is survived by her husband, Robert J. Coyle; five children, Robert E. Coyle of Alexandria, Va., Donald V. Coyle of Levittown, N.Y., Suzanna Horan of Miller Place, N.Y., William D. Coyle of Coram, N.Y., and Elaine Neidzwiecki of Fairfax Station, Va.; 14 grandchildren; and a sister, Florence Harren of Texas.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Wednesday at St. John Neumann Church.

William Bounds Wimbrow
OCEAN CITY - William Bounds Wimbrow, 77, died Monday Nov. 17, 2003 at the Snow Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born in St. Louis, Mo., he was the son of the late R. Edwin Wimbrow and Laura Bounds Wimbrow.
Mr. Wimbrow had been owner and operator of Wimbrow's Repair Service and Sales in West Ocean City for 42 years. He was drafted out of Salisbury State Teacher's College for World War II and later called back for the Korean War.
He was a member of Atlantic United Methodist Church in Ocean City, member of the Worcester County Shoreline Commission for many years, gold badge member of the Ocean City Volunteer Fire Co., member of the Ocean City Lion's Club and recipient of the Melvin Jones award, president of the Ocean City Life Saving Museum, member of the Ocean City Marlin Club, and member of the Ocean City Sinepuxent American Legion Post #166.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Virginia Parsons Wimbrow; a son, William Edward Wimbrow of Del Ray Beach, Fla.; a daughter, Dinah Ellen Warfield and her husband Joe of Snow Hill; a brother, Thomas D. Wimbrow and his wife Betty of BelAir, Md.; one niece; several nephews; one great-niece; and one great-nephew.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert E. Wimbrow and Richard L. Wimbrow.
Services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at the Burbage Funeral Home in Berlin. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Berlin.

Dave L. Costanza
OCEAN CITY - Dave L. Costanza, 71, died in John Hopkins Hospital on March 12, 2004.
Born in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Anthony Peter and Jeanette Frattantono Costanza.
He retired after 30 years of service for ARMCO Steel where he worked as a metallurgist in stainless steel production.
He was member of the Elks in Ocean City and an avid fisherman. He worked at Elliott's Hardware in Ocean City for 19 years. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict.
Mr. Costanza is survived by his wife of 45 years, Nesta L. Richardson Costanza; one daughter, Kim L. Kleinberg of Bel Air; one brother, Joseph Costanza of Baltimore; and two grandchildren, Alex D. Kleinberg and Emma L. Kleinberg, both of Bel Air, Md. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Tony D. Costanza.
Interment was in Angel Hill Cemetery, Havre de Grace, Md.
Pallbearers were Allen Kleinberg, Bob Dunkar, Mark Costanza, John Denbow, Tom Rohrer and Mark Elliott.
