Dorothy Evelyn "Dotty" Coffman, 86, of Westminster, formerly of Baltimore, died Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at the Carroll Hospital Center. Born April 13, 1924 in Baltimore, she was the wife of 38 years to the late Deyerle C. Coffman. She was the daughter of the late Margaret Virginia Jenkins and Arthur Clayton Crumbacker.
Before retiring she worked as a manager at Rite Aid for 20 years until she was 70. She enjoyed crafts, cooking and her family.
Survived by children Darleen Wollschlager and fiancé Tom Weinberger, Ronald Coffman and wife Diane, Richard Coffman and wife Phyllis, Joan Priebe, Beverly Reilly and husband Michael, sister Margaret Fear of Deland, Fla., 8 grandchildren Jeff, Debbie, Wendy, Caryl, Crissy, Philip, Amy, and Angela, 10 great-grandchildren Malik, Dylan, Abigail, Emily, David, Joe, Eva, Kylie, Yuna and Tre. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, she was predeceased by 10 brothers and sisters and grandsons Ronald, Randy, Ricky, and Jason.
The family will receive friends on Saturday and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Fletcher Funeral Home, 254 E. Main St., Westminster.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 11 a.m. Interment in Loudon Park Cemetery.
Thelma Elizabeth Richards
Born on Feb. 1, 1915

Thelma Elizabeth Richards, 95, of Westminster, died Friday, September 17, 2010 at Golden Crest Assisted Living in Hampstead. Born February 1, 1915 in Westminster, she was the daughter of the late Anna Katie Starner and Wilbur Michael. She was the loving wife of Claude E. Richards of 74 years.
She was the top amateur woman golfer in Baltimore from 1947-1962, won the first state Women's Golf Association Tournament in 1950, and second in'51, won the Titleholder Tournament in '52 and '53, was the Multiple winner of Country club of Maryland Tournament, won the Cumberland Country Club tournament in 1958, was Runner-up in the Maryland State tournament in '58 where her LPGA teaching career began in 1963. She was an Eight-time Maryland State Trap Shoot Tournament Champion in '54,'55,'58, '60-'64) Runner-up in the North American Trap Shoot Tournament in '61; broke 198 out of 200 clay birds, was All America trap shooter in '64 and '68, and the First woman in Carroll County Hall of Fame. She was a member for a number of years at Country Club of Maryland where she gave lessons and also gave lessons at Piney Branch Golf Club and Bear Creek Golf Club. She had 4 hole in ones in her golfing career.
Besides her husband she is survived by her God daughter Kristin A. Stull, devoted friends Guy B. and Ann Stull, and Tommy Stull all of Westminster.
Funeral services will be held on Monday September 20, 2010 at 1:00 P.M at the Fletcher Funeral Home, 254 E. Main Street, Westminster with Rev. David Schafer, pastor of St. Benjamin's "Kriders" Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will follow in Kriders Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Joseph V. Ford
Born in Baltimore on Oct. 24, 1941
Departed on Sep. 18, 2010 and resided in Hampstead, MD.
Joseph Valiant "Sweety Pie" Ford, 68, of Hampstead, died Saturday, September 18, 2010 at the University of Maryland Medical Center. Born October 24, 1941 in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Ruth Frizzell Ford and Elwood Emerson Ford. He was the husband of Carol Ann Ford of Hampstead.
He worked for the Department of Transportation in the NSA and CATS for 6 years. He was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Frederick. He enjoyed movies, dancing and traveling. He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather.
Besides his wife he is survived by daughters and son-in-law Clare and Raymond Blair of Westminster, Beth Ford of Westminster, son Joseph Ford II of Baltimore, step daughter and husband Sharon and Jim Lepore of Laurel, step-sons and wife Kenneth R. and Maria Earp of Herndon, VA, and Chris Earp of Westminster, sister Sandra Fryer of Key Largo, Fl., brother Glen Wilson of Timonium, grandchildren Emily Blair, Aaron Raymond II, Christian Raymond, Gavin Martin, Emily Lauren, Sophie Earp, Jimmy, Jesse, and Casey Earp, and Matthew, Bobby and Angela.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 12 until the time of funeral services at 2 p.m. at the Fletcher Funeral Home, 254 E. Main St., Westminster with Rev. Carey Cox officiating. Interment will be private.

Richard Pullen
Born in Easton on Sep. 29, 1932

Richard Pullen, 77, of Westminster, died Monday, September 20, 2010 at Brinton Woods Nursing Home. Born September 29, 1932 in Easton, he was the son of the late Mary Ann Fluharty Pullen and Harry Pullen. Survived by his wife of 57 years Anna M. Pullen of Westminster.
Before retiring, he worked for the YMCA in Hanover and also worked in a factory. He served in the Army and was a member of Grace Fellowship Chapel. He enjoyed golf, exercising, gardening and his dogs.
Besides his wife, he is survived by son and daughter-in-law R. Thomas and Patricia Pullen of Buffalo, NY, daughter and son-in-law Claudia N. and Allen T. Cook of Westminster, brothers and sister-in-laws Harry C. and Nancy Pullen of Sparks, Larry and Debbie Pullen of Hampstead, Don Pullen of Lynchburg, Va., sister Effi Ann Pullen of White Marsh, 5 grandchildren Katie Maglizia and husband Joe, Kelli Byrd, Suzanne Myers and husband Brian, Connor Cook, Bailey Cook and 5 great-granddaughters.
He was predeceased by brothers Charles and Robert Pullen.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, September 24 at 11 a.m. at Meadow Branch cemetery with Rev. Ralf Nies officiating.
There will be no visitation.

Betty Lou Printz, 74, of Westminster, died Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2010 at the Golden Living Center. Born Aug. 17, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Frank P. Jones and Sue Ellen Alley Jones. Her husband was the late Gilbert F. "Mutt" Printz.
Survived by son and daughter-in-law Wayne and Kay Jones of Westminster, former daughter-in-law Constance Jones of Gettysburg, Pa., 2 sisters Francis O'Dell of Princeton, W. Va. and Brenda Kessinger of Bramwell, W.Va., 3 brothers Jack Jones of Tazewell, Va., Bill Jones of Alexandria, Va., and Terry Jones and wife Kay of Gaithersburg, Md., granddaughter Jessica Gernand of Westminster, 2 great-grandsons Alexander and Cameron Gernand of Westminster, 4 step-grandchildren Robert and James Andrews, Chris Feenstra and Teresa Givens, and 13 step-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by 4 sisters Ella May Crawford, Carol Bennett, Margaret Lawson, and Ruth Lawson.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 12 until time of service at 1 p.m. at the Fletcher Funeral Home, 254 E. Main St., Westminster with Rev. James N. Hosey Jr. officiating.
Interment in Laytonsville United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Joan Marcella Delker

Joan Marcella Delker, 80, of Westminster died Thursday, September 23, 2010 at Brinton Woods Nursing Home. Born October 3, 1929 in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Martin L. Carberry and Lurilla Titus Carberry. She was the loving wife of Norwood "Woody" L. Delker Sr. who died January 5, 2004.
She was a member of St. John Catholic Church and Graduate of the Institute of Notre Dame High School class of 1947.
Surviving are daughters sons-in-law Anne Kathleen and John W. Marcum Jr. of Glen Burnie, son and daughter in law Norwood L. Jr. and Patricia Ann Delker of Westminster, grandchildren Matthew S. Kinsler of Helena, Montana, Rachel E. Kaniecki and husband Benjamin of Westminster, Brianna L. Delker of Westminster, step grandchildren Alicia Cage and John W. Marcum III.
Memorial services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Winfield Volunteer Fire Company, 1320 West Old Liberty Road, Sykesville, 21784 or St. John Catholic Church Building Fund, 43 Monroe Street, Westminster Maryland.

William Henry Smith

William Henry "Smitty" Smith, 74, of Montgomery Village, MD, died Monday, September 27, 2010 at the Casey House in Rockville. Born April 19, 1936 in Howard County, he was the son of the late Mary Ann Askin Dorsey and Lord Baltimore Smith.
Before retiring he worked in landscaping. He was a member of West Falls Christian Community Church.
Survived by devoted friend Shirley Richardson of Montgomery Village, Md. and her son Kyle Richardson of Montgomery Village, Md., sisters Shirley Rheubottom of Westminster, Marian Smith of Westminster, Kathy Brooks of Westminster, Bonnie Hillard of Taneytown, Gladys Smith of York, Pa., brothers and sister-in-law George Smith and wife Denise of Silver Spring, Merhl and Ronald Smith both of Frederick, Paul Smith and wife Ruth of Westminster, and Thomas Smith of Westminster. Also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and caregivers Renee Warren, Roxanne Carter and Kyle Richardson.
