Ruth G. Roe
Ruth G. Roe, 96, of 15 Cypress St., Hagerstown, died Monday, May 1, 2000, at her home.
Born Oct. 5, 1903, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late William H. and Lena M. Suter McNamee.
Her husband, John M. Roe, died in 1967.
She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Clara Lena Stine of Hagerstown; a grandson, Dr. Terry M. Stine of Hagerstown; nieces and nephews.
Services will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac St., Hagerstown. The Rev. Robert S. Barton will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Lucille V. Fernandez
Lucille V. Fernandez, 72, formerly of 11 W. Baltimore St., Hagerstown, died Friday, April 28, 2000, at Washington County Hospital. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Dorothy Bussard, Mary Bowman and Cleon Harris.
Harry S. Lady Jr.
Harry Sonny Lady Jr., 65, of 18 S. Mulberry St., Hagerstown, died Monday, May 1, 2000, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Feb. 6, 1935, in Hagerstown, he was the son of Elizabeth Mae Armstrong Lady of Hagerstown and the late Harry Sonny Lady Sr.
He was employed by Hemmingway Trucking Co. for 25 years.
He was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Romaine E. Lady; two daughters, Mary E. Shields and Michelle D. Rickett, both of Hagerstown; three sons, Harry Sonny Lady III, Robert E. Lady and Terry W. Lady, all of Hagerstown; a brother, Richard G. Lady of Tampa, Fla.; 15 grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Betty L. Files Redmond.
Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, 40 E. Antietam St. in Hagerstown. The Rev. Stephen D. Robison will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

E. Lynn Bartle
BAREFOOT BAY, Fla. - E. Lynn Bartle, 71, of Barefoot Bay, and formerly of Hagerstown, died Saturday, April 29, 2000, at his home.
He owned and operated Hagerstown Nursery, and was later associated with ERA Realty in Hagerstown.
He is survived by his wife, Shona; two daughters, Liza of Hockessin, Del., and Dawn of Bel Air, Md.; three sons, Jonathon of Landensburg, Pa., Bryan of Greensboro, N.C., and Scott of Sanford, Fla.; and five grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held in Hagerstown at a later date.
Rachel L. Knepper
IJAMSVILLE, Md. - Rachel L. Knepper, 90, of Ijamsville, and formerly of Chambersburg, Pa., died Tuesday, May 2, 2000, at Frederick Memorial Hospital.
Born Jan. 5, 1910, in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of the late Amos and Sarah Rebecca Sachs Levi.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred B. Knepper.
She was a 1928 graduate of Chambersburg High School.
She had worked in bookkeeping at Capital Bakery; and at Moller Pipe Organ Co.
She is survived by a daughter, Deborah K. Slingluff of Ijamsville, with whom she lived; and two granddaughters, Kathryn T. Slingluff and Rebecca L. Slingluff.
Private burial will be in Rose Hill cemetery in Hagerstown.

Ruben Hottinger
ROCKVILLE, Md. - Ruben Hottinger, 87, of Rockville, died Monday, May 1, 2000, at Montgomery Village Care and Rehabilitation Center in Montgomery Village.
Born Nov. 2, 1912, in Fort Seybert, W.Va., he was the son of the late Wilbur and Florence Hottinger.
He was a Seabee in the South Pacific during World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Selma B. Hottinger; one daughter, Patricia H. Hoover of Fairplay; three sisters, Margie Dove of Derwood, Md., Muriel Beall of Gaithersburg, Md., and Reba Connelly of Gettysburg, Pa.; two brothers, Virgil Hottinger of Gaithersburg, Md., and Herbert Hottinger of Frederick, Md.; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by one son, James R. Hottinger.
Services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Pumphrey's Colonial Funeral Home, 300 W. Montgomery Ave., Rockville. Burial will be in Flower Hill Church of the Brethren cemetery in Gaithersburg, Md.
Friends will be received at the funeral home today from 3 to 5 p.m.
Thomas F. Draper
SMITHSBURG - Thomas F. Draper, 77, of 25619 Foxville Road, died Tuesday, May 2, 2000, at his home.
Born Jan. 1, 1923, in Highland, Md., he was the son of the late Norman L. and Ona Lewis Draper.
A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Army in the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre and Okinawa.
He was employed by Fairchild Aircraft in Hagerstown. He was a farmer.
He was a member of Salem United Methodist Church in Wolfsville.
He was a member of Morris Frock Post 42 American Legion of Hagerstown; and South Mountain Rod and Gun Club of Smithsburg.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Anna Kate Leatherman Draper; a daughter, Fonda A. Gormer of Myersville, Md.; a son, Terry L. Draper of Smithsburg; a sister, Irlene Kline of Wolfsville; a brother, Myron Lee Draper of Williamsport; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Theda Draper; and two brothers, N. Dale Draper and Harold Draper.
A memorial service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Salem United Methodist Church in Wolfsville. Pastor Randy Reid will officiate.
Burial will be in Mount Bethel cemetery in Foxville, Md. at the convenience of the family.
There will be no viewing.
