BOONSBORO - Services for Margaret Thomas Green, 85, of 8507 Mapleville Road and formerly of 108 Lakin Ave., who died Friday, May 5, 2000, will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Mount Nebo United Methodist Church. The Rev. Ron Kurtz will officiate. Burial will be in the Boonsboro cemetery.
The family will receive friends today from 1 to 3 p.m. at Bast Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike in Boonsboro, and Monday at 1 p.m. at the church.
Amanda K. Shifler
Amanda Kathryne Shifler, 98, formerly of 428 Virginia Ave., Hagerstown, died Saturday, May 6, 2000, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Feb. 22, 1902, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Charles T. Mentzer Sr. and Wyoma G. Semler Mentzer.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Ike Shifler Sr., in 1952.
She was a 1918 graduate of Broadway Girls High School.
She was employed by Western Maryland Railway and Downsville Auction.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star Hagerstown 89 and Daughter of the Nile Order of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by four sons, Hubert I. Shifler Jr. of Hagerstown, Harlan S. Shifler and Charles T. Shifler, both of Boonsboro, and Richard Shifler of Tempe, Ariz.; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Gehre M. Tanner; and a brother, Charles C. Mentzer Jr.
Memorial services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd. in Hagerstown. The Rev. Carroll Boyer will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Monday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
Dorothy M. Riddlemoser
FREDERICK, Md. - Dorothy Mae Riddlemoser, 85, of Frederick, died Friday, May 5, 2000, at Frederick Memorial Hospital.
Born March 22, 1915, in Harmony, Md., she was the daughter of the late George Upton and Hattie V. Wachter Shepley.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Riddlemoser.
She retired in 1987 from Eyerly's, now Bon Ton, after 15 years of service as a sales associate.
She was a member of Frederick Evangelical Lutheran Church, where she was active in Friendly Girls Class, a group that delivered flowers and other items to shut-ins.
She is survived by a son, James E. Riddlemoser of Jessup, Md.; two grandchildren, Jeffrey T. Riddlemoser and Steven C. Riddlemoser, both of Frederick; a niece; and a nephew.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Florence Toms; and six brothers, Roscoe Shepley, Clarence Shepley, Floyd Shepley, Martin Shepley, Austin Shepley and Paul Shepley.
Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike in Frederick. The Rev. Walter P. Fogarty will officiate. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m., and Tuesday from 9 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. On Monday, the funeral home will open at 2 p.m.

Michael J. Stevens, 43, of 30 E. Antietam St., Hagerstown, died at his residence.
Born Oct. 16, 1956, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of Francis M. and Nancy P. Merz Stevens of Oakdale, Pa.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a daughter, Stephanie Stevens of Leesburg, Va.; two sons, Jay Stevens and Curtis Stevens, both of Oakdale; a sister, Nancy Tinney of Rennerdale, Pa.; and two brothers, Frank Stevens of Oakdale and Philip Stevens of Monroeville, Pa.
Friends will gather on Tuesday at 3 p.m. at Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac St., Hagerstown. Burial will be in Oakdale.
Norma G. Rohrer
Norma G. "Mom-Mom" Rohrer, 69, of 811 Medway Road, died Sunday, May 7, 2000, at Washington County Hospital.
Born April 2, 1931, in Waynesboro, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Arthur C. Sr. and Anna Walters Shearer.
She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her husband, Harry M. Rohrer Jr., whom she married
June 24, 1950; a daughter, Linda K. Cole of Mercersburg, Pa.; two sisters, Elaine Smith and Doris Pike, both of Hagerstown; a brother, Arthur C. Shearer Jr. of Hagerstown, and three grandsons.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac St., Hagerstown. The Rev. Doris J. Doub will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.
Visitation will be held today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Paul N. Hovermill
Paul Nelson Hovermill, 58, of 1113 Beechwood Drive, Hagerstown, died Saturday, May 6, 2000, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Dec. 16, 1941, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late William F. and Helen K. Kuhn Hovermill.
He was a graduate of Hagerstown Community College and Frostburg State University, where he received his B.A. Later he graduated from Shippensburg University with an M.A. degree.
He was employed with Washington County Board of Education as assistant principal at Washington Street Middle School, Western Heights Middle School, E. Russell Hicks Middle School, and later retired from Clear Spring Middle School in 1999 after 35 years of service.
He was a life member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church.
He was a member of B.P.O. Elks Lodge 378, Moose Lodge 2435 Funkstown, and Retired Administrators Association.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Donna R. Hovermill; two sons, James A. Hovermill of Hagerstown and Joseph W. Hovermill of Baltimore, and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown. The Rev. David B. Kaplan will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown.

John G. Harrison
KNOXVILLE, Md. - John Gilbert Harrison, 50, of 610 Valley Road, died Saturday, May 6, 2000, at Frederick Memorial Hospital, Frederick, Md.
Born Sept. 17, 1949, in Feagaville, Md., he was the son of John Richard Harrison and the late Shirley McGonigal Harrison.
He was a retired from Genstar, Frederick, as a plant operator.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines, having served in the Vietnam War.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his stepmother, Edna Harrison of Frederick; his wife, Harriet Foster Harrison; a son, Branton W. Harrison-Souser of Boonsboro; a stepdaughter, Bonnie Fraley of Brownsville, Md.; two sisters, Audrey J. Marick of Woodbine, Md., and Beverly A. Hargrove of Florida; a brother, Billy D. Harrison of Harpers Ferry, W.Va.; a stepbrother, Clifford Fuharman of North Carolina and five grandchildren.
