WILLIAMSPORT - Patricia Ann Good, 62, of 16932 Sterling Road, died Wednesday, May 10, 2000, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Dec. 11, 1937, in Buffalo, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Joseph Edgar and Audrey Beatrice Handel Dailey.
She was a 1955 graduate of Waynesboro High School.
She had been employed as a dispatcher for the Hagerstown City Police Department for 21 years.
She attended United Methodist Church.
She was a member of Greencastle Lioness Club; and Williamsport Ambulance Service.
She is survived by two daughters, Janet E. Maurer of Round Hill, Va. and Jill A. Fleisher of Pennsylvania; a sister, Frances B. Dailey of St. Petersburg, Fla.; and three grandsons.
Graveside services and burial will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Bethel cemetery in Cascade.
There will be no visitation or viewing at the funeral home.

Carroll J. Powers
ROHRERSVILLE - Carroll J. Powers, 87, of 20422 Bent Willow Road, died Thursday, Dec. 31, 1998 at Washington County Hospital.
Born Dec. 3, 1911, in Sandy Hook, he was the son of the late George B. and Jessie West Powers.
He was a retired salesman with Swift & Company, Washington, D.C., and Atlantic City, NJ, for 34 years and Safeway Inc., for 5 years.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army with the 38th Engineer Regiment.
He was a member of Sandy Hook United Methodist Church.
He was a member of Steadman-Kennan Post 96 of the American Legion, Brunswick, V.F.W. Post, Brunswick and a 50-year 32nd-degree Mason.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Doris T. Powers; two nieces and one nephew.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Charles W. Powers.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Brownsville Church of the Brethren, Brownsville, Md. The Rev. Jim Hamrick will officiate. Burial will be in Brownsville Heights Cemetery, Brownsville.
The family will receive friends Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. at Eackles-Spencer Funeral Home, 970 Washington Street, Harpers Ferry, W.Va.

Harry W. Canfield Jr.
KNOXVILLE, Md. - Harry William "Butch" Canfield Jr., 56, of 3508 South Mountain Road, died Thursday, May 11, 2000, at his home.
Born Sept. 2, 1943, he was the son of Lucille V. Turner of Hagerstown and the late Harry William Canfield Sr.
He was a 1961 graduate of South Hagerstown High School.
He was employed by Doubleday Printing Co. from 1965 to 1966; Jamison Door Co. from 1966 to 1983; and Frederick Cancer Research Facility from 1983 to the present, as a purchasing supervisor.
He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1961 to 1965.
He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church in Brunswick, Md.
He is survived by his partner of 22 years, Don D. Cameron Jr.; three sisters, Judy M. Ward of Keedysville, Frances Jackson and Esther Hoover, both of Williamsport; five nieces and nephews; and a great-niece and five great-nephews.
A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. Friends will be notified.

Eugene A. Hoke
Eugene Allen Hoke, 74, of 14014 Marsh Pike, Hagerstown, and formerly of Clear Spring, died Thursday, May 11, 2000, at Avalon Manor Nursing Home.
Born May 15, 1925, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late John George and Edna Bell Insminger Hoke.
His wife, Evelyn Frances Hoke, died December 1987.
He attended school in the Hagerstown School District.
He was a sub-contracted maintenance engineer for Mack Trucks Inc.
He was a member of Mack Truck Night Owls Bowling League and a former member of Isaac Walton League.
He is survived by a son, Dale Allen Hoke of Hagerstown; two sisters, Catherine Grove and Mary Jane McCauley, both of Hagerstown; and two brothers, Ralph Hoke of Hagerstown and Robert N. Hoke of Maugansville.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Elouise Hoke and Marie Fuller; and two brothers, Donald Hoke and John R. Hoke.
Services will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown. The Rev. Robert E. Timmons will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown.
The family will receive friends Monday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made a charity of one's choice.
Eugene A. Hoke
Eugene Allen Hoke, 74, of 14014 Marsh Pike, Hagerstown, and formerly of Clear Spring, who died Thursday, May 11, 2000, is survived by nieces and nephews.
Marion E. Walker
FREDERICK, Md. - Marion E. Walker, 84, of Frederick and formerly of Prince Frederick, Md., died Thursday, May 11, 2000, at Frederick Health Care Center.
She was the daughter of the late George and Bertha Creek Mann.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton R. Walker.
She is survived by two daughters, Jacqueline A. Howes of Rockville, Md., and Barbara J. Zimmerman of Lewistown, Md.; a son, Donald R. Walker of McDonough, Ga.; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a great-grandson.
Services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Pumphrey's Funeral Home, 300 W. Montgomery Ave. in Rockville. Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Park in Rockville.
The family will receive friends Monday from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Clarence F. Smithers Jr.
NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. - Clarence F. Smithers Jr., 81, of New Brunswick, died Monday, May 8, 2000, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick.
He was born in Paterson, N.J.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Priscilla Blezak Smithers, in 1987.
He formerly worked as a security guard for Rutgers University for 13 years. Prior to that, he retired in 1965 from the U.S. Army after 25 years.
He was a veteran of World War II.
He is survived by two sons, Richard D. Smithers of Edison, N.J., and Robert J. Smithers of New Brunswick; a sister, Kay Ariens of Carey, N.C.; three brothers, Paul Smithers of Hagerstown, Gus Smithers of Toms River, N.J., and Fritz Smithers of New Jersey; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services were held Friday, May 12, at 11:30 a.m. at Boylan Funeral Home, 188 Easton Ave. in New Brunswick.
The family received friends Friday, May 12, at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
