Wilbert L. Lapole
BOONSBORO - Wilbert Lee Lapole, 70, of 21261 Mt. Lena Road, died Sunday, May 28, 2000, at Washington Hospital Center, Washington, D.C.
Born Aug. 2, 1929, in Washington County, Md., he was the son of the late Wilbert and Edna Reel Lapole.
He was a truck driver for 42 years. He started his career with Manbeck Bread Co., and retired from Chemical Leaman Tank Line.
He was a member of Harvest Baptist Church and Golden Stars Sunday School Class.
He was a member of Teamsters Local 992.
He is survived by his wife, Henrietta Lapole, whom he married
Jan. 1, 1949; five sons, Chester L. Lapole, William C. Lapole, David W. Lapole and Richard A. Lapole, all of Hagerstown and Dennis L. Lapole of Falling Waters, W.Va.; a brother, William F. Lapole of Hagerstown; a stepbrother, Paul Skelton Sr. of Hagerstown; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; nieces; nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Thomas and a grandson.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. James Moore will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family requests the omission of flowers and memorial contributions be made to Harvest Baptist Church, 951 Woodland Way, Hagerstown, MD 21742.
Harold A. McCauley Sr.
Harold Arlington "Mac" McCauley Sr., 73, of 13710 Royal Road, Hagerstown, died Friday, May 26, 2000, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Aug. 31, 1926, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Howard and Nora Belle Show McCauley.
He was preceded in death by his wife, June Elizabeth Mulden McCauley.
He was a graduate of Villanova University as a business major.
He was a Lt. J.G. in the U.S. Navy from 1947 to 1960.
He was a former employee of Fairchild Industries and later retired from C.B.S. Toys in Hagerstown.
He was a member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by two daughters, Pamela D. McCauley Dennison of Charlottesville, Va., and Susan Beth McCauley of Connecticut; a son, Harold A. McCauley of Hagerstown; a sister, Dorothy Logsdon of Hagerstown; a brother, Charles McCauley of Hagerstown; three grandchildren; and a special friend, Rose Autenreith of Hagerstown.
He was preceded in death by two brothers Earl McCauley and Donald McCauley.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, 10813 Donelson Drive, Williamsport. The Rev. Mark Sandell will officiate. Burial will be private.

Charlotte A. Samuels
Charlotte Aileen Samuels, 74, of 711 Florida Ave., Hagerstown, died Monday, May 29, 2000, at Colton Villa Nursing Home.
Born Feb. 3, 1926, in Shenandoah Valley, Va., she was the daughter of the late Ashbey Raymond and Lillian May Dulaney Harlow.
She was a member of Church of the Valley in Shenandoah.
She is survived by a son, Randolph A. Dofflemyer; two grandchildren, Michael A. Dofflemyer and Ranchell L. Dofflemyer, both of Hagerstown; a step-grandson, Robert R. Souders of Hagerstown; and her companion and caregiver, Henry Suffecool of Hagerstown.
Graveside services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Rest Haven cemetery in Shenandoah.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown.
Blanch V. Buharp
NICEVILLE, Fla. - Blanch V. Buharp, 93, of Niceville, and formerly of Williamsport, died Sunday, March 12, 2000, at a hospital in Florida.
Born Oct. 10, 1906, in Clear Spring, she was the daughter of the late Cyrus Courtney and Louisa Dennis Grosh.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Nathaniel S. Buharp Sr., in 1968.
She attended First United Methodist Church in Niceville.
She was a member of Senior Citizens Ceramic Club of Valparaiso, Fla.
She is survived by two sons, Nathaniel S. Buharp Jr. of Niceville and Gary L. Buharp of Clearwater, Fla.; two grandsons, Matthew K. Buharp and Eric S. Buharp, both of Paxton, Fla.; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three sisters and a brother.
A graveside service will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at Greenlawn cemetery in Williamsport.

Marilyn A. Smith
Marilyn Annabell Smith, 57, of 210 Taylor St., Hagerstown, died Sunday, May 28, 2000, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Oct. 22, 1942, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late George V. and Gladys E. Smith.
She attended South Hagerstown High School.
She worked for Statton Furniture Co.
She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church in Hagerstown.
She is survived by four sons, Clarence V. Smith, Walter C. Smith, Michael A. Garnes and Jerry L. Smith, all of Hagerstown; five sisters, Minnie M. Johnson, Helen Bowers, Elizabeth Smith and Catherine Smith, all of Hagerstown, and Shirley Catoe of Montclair, N.J.; two brothers, Robert C. Smith and Edward L. Smith, both of Hagerstown; four grandchildren; two aunts; cousins; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Willie James Garner Jr.; and two brothers, Jerry A. Smith and George J. Smith.
Services will be Friday at noon at Asbury United Methodist Church. The Rev. Yvonne Mercer-Staten will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 8 p.m. at the church.

John A. Hill
John Aubrey Hill, 79, of Hagerstown, died Monday, May 29, 2000, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Aug. 8, 1920, in Monrat, Va., he was the son of the late Ellis Gordon and Mattie Jane Kelley Hill.
He attended Fries High School in Fries, Va.
He was employed by Fairchild Aircraft for 21 years. He retired from Mack Trucks, where he was employed from 1962-1982.
A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served in World War II.
He was of the Methodist faith.
He was a member of Long Meadow Senior Citizens Bowling League, and Morris Frock American Legion Post 42.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Carolyn Elizabeth Hill; two sons, John A. Hill II and Terry L. Hill, both of Hagerstown; a sister, Pauline Henry of Tuscon, Ariz.; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by four sisters, Ellen L. Myers, Edith Funk, Helen Starr and Donna Alger; and a brother, Frederick G. Hill.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Dale Carver will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Hagerstown.
