Jean W. Haines
MYERSVILLE, Md. - Jean W. Haines, 88, of Myersville, died Wednesday, June 7, 2000, at Guardian Manor in Bloomington, Minn.
Born Oct. 21, 1911, in Ware, Mass., she was the daughter of the late Alexander H. and Eleanor Aldrich Wilson.
Her husband, Elliott Haines Jr., died in 1985.
She was a graduate of Smith College and went on to Bryant College.
She was employed by New York Life Insurance Co. in 1938 as a secretary for a vice president of the company.
She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Myersville, and Tuesday Girls of St. Paul's.
She was a member of Myersville Homemakers and was a Girl Scout leader.
She is survived by a daughter, Susan H. Barbato of Bloomington; a son, Elliott Haines III of Myersville; a sister, Laurie Wightman, of Connecticut; a brother, Duncan Wilson of Connecticut and three grandsons.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Ricketts Funeral Home, 504 Main St., Myersville. The Rev. William M. Brown will officiate. Burial will be in St. Paul's Lutheran Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Saturday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.

James M. Porter
GAPLAND - James Michael "Mike" Porter, 45, of 3203 Kaetzel Road, died Thursday, June 8, 2000, at University of Maryland Hospital in Baltimore from injuries received in a motorcycle accident.
Born, April 4, 1955, in Frederick, Md., he was the son of James Albert and Janice Dolores Grubb Porter of Boonsboro.
He was a 1973 graduate of Boonsboro High School.
He was employed by Eastalco Aluminum in Frederick for 27 years.
He was a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in Gapland.
He was a member of Masonic Lodge of Brunswick, Md.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Annette Yvonne Butler Porter, whom he married
Dec. 17, 1976; one daughter, Tara A. Porter, at home; three sisters, Teresa L. Ensor of Denmark, Maine, Pamela J. Perkins of Hagerstown and Constance E. Butts of Gapland; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Bast Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro. The Rev. Wendall G. McClellan will officiate. Burial will be in Brownsville Heights cemetery in Brownsville, Md.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Eppa M. Ahalt
BRUNSWICK, Md. - Eppa Marshall Ahalt, 73, of 105 6th Ave., died Wednesday, June 7, 2000, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born July 26, 1926, in Lovettsville, Va., he was the son of the late Edgar and Martha Cooper Ahalt.
He was a certified welder at Fort Detrick in Frederick, Md., retiring in 1988 after 45 years of government service.
A veteran of World War II and the Korean War, he served in the U.S. Navy, U.S. Army and Army Reserves. As a Navy frogman, on June 6, 1944, he was one of the men who cut the underwater net on D-Day.
He was of the Lutheran faith.
He was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1136, Brunswick Fire Department, a Little League manager, and member and past-commander of Steadman-Keenan American Legion Post 96.
He is survived by his wife, Doris "Duddie" Hahn Ahalt; one daughter, Linda Sue Lloyd of Sharpsburg; one son, Mark Allen Ahalt of Brunswick; and three grandchildren.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Elizabeth Zombro
Elizabeth Zombro, of Coffman Nursing Home, and formerly of 925 Security Road, Hagerstown, died Wednesday, June 7, 2000, at the home.
Born in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late William and Emma E. Martin Zombro.
She served as a 1st Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Nurses Corps during World War II.
She was a member of Faith Chapel and Women's Aglow Fellowship.
She is survived by a niece, Janet Turner of Stanwood, Wash.; a nephew, Barry Nott of Hagerstown; a great-nephew, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Bernice H. Simosko.
Graveside services will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. at Rest Haven Cemetery. The Rev. Robert Ridenour will officiate.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown.

Cliford H. Grove
BRIDGEVILLE, Del. - Cliford Harry Grove, 77, of Bridgeville, died Tuesday, May 30, 2000, as the result of a fall at his home.
Born Jan. 1, 1923, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Harry and Ada Grove.
He was a member of Seaford Pipefitters and Welders Union 782.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth O. Grove; one stepdaughter, Norma Jean Wells of Greenville, N.C.; one sister, Helen Harris of Hagerstown; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and one niece.
Burial was private.
Earl M. Faith Sr.
Earl Melvin Faith Sr., 72, of 235 S. Potomac St., died Thursday, June 8, 2000, at Washington County Hospital.
Born March 24, 1928, in Clear Spring, he was the son of the late James and Nellie Trumpower Faith.
He retired from the City of Hagerstown.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He was of the Lutheran faith.
He is survived by his wife, Connie L. Sisk Faith; three sons, Ricky Lynn Faith of Hancock, Earl Melvin Faith Jr. of Clear Spring and Shawn Michael Faith of Hagerstown; one stepson, Steven A. Swope of Hagerstown; three sisters, Catherine Jones and Rita Clark, both of Clear Spring, and Mildred Faith of Fort Loudon, Pa.; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Hazel Repp and Charlotte Ingram; and three brothers, Glenn Faith, Fred Faith and Guy Faith.
Services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Ronald Faith will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven cemetery with military honors by American Legion, Morris Frock Post 42.
