Marguerite A. Gallagher
WILLIAMSPORT - Marguerite Adelle Gallagher, 91, of Homewood Retirement Village, died Wednesday, April 12, 2000, at Homewood Nursing Home.
Born Nov. 2, 1908, in Bennington, Vt., she was the daughter of the late George Thomas and Anna Dunn Thomayer.
Her husband, Robert F. Gallagher, died in 1966.
She was the former owner of Gallagher's Liquor Store in Hagerstown.
She was a member of St. Augustine's Catholic Church in Williamsport.
She was a member of Halfway Homemakers and AARP.
She is survived by two nieces, Joan Searfoss of Albany, N.Y. and Dorothy Hustad of Edina, Minn.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Augustine's Catholic Church, with the Rev. Alfred E. Smith as celebrant. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., today from noon to 9 p.m.
Dorothy A. Thurston
Dorothy Alberta Thurston, 86, of 337 West Side Ave., Hagerstown, died Wednesday, April 12, 2000, at her home.
Born March 18, 1914, in Hanover, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Elmer G. and Carrie Rexroth Weaver.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thurman B. Thurston, in 1979.
She was a graduate of Hagerstown Business College.
She was a former employee of Denny's Pretzel Shop. She retired in 1994 after 30 years with the Tax Assessment Office.
She was a member of Washington Square United Methodist Church, taught Sunday school, was a member of the church choir, and on the Women's Society administrative board.
She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by two daughters, Dorothy Ann Crawford and Patricia Marie Martin, both of Hagerstown; four grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Raymond E. Weaver.
Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Washington Square United Methodist Church in Hagerstown. The Revs. Harold P. Adkins and Louis L. Emmerick will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven cemetery in Hagerstown.
The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North in Hagerstown.

Groveen V. DeBaugh
BOONSBORO - Groveen Virginia Hartley DeBaugh, 75, of 8001 Old National Pike, died Wednesday, April 12, 2000, at her home.
Born Oct. 9, 1924, in Rileyville, Va., she was the daughter of the late William J. and Mary M. Morrison Hartley.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Benevola United Methodist Church near Boonsboro.
She was a member of Washington County Homemakers Club; and Washington County Farm Bureau.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Louis G.P. DeBaugh; two sons, Louis H. DeBaugh and Jere F. DeBaugh, both of Boonsboro; her caregiver, Cindy Green of Hagerstown; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four sisters; and four brothers.
Services will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Bast Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike in Boonsboro. The Rev. Helen S. Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Boonsboro Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

William L. Brosenne Sr.
HANCOCK - William Leroy Brosenne Sr., 53, of Terrace Heights Drive, died Monday, April 10, 2000, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Washington, D.C.
Born Sept. 11, 1946, in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Norman and Mary Little Brosenne.
He was a disabled American veteran, having served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.
He was of the Catholic faith.
He was a member of Sykesville American Legion Post 223; DAV; VFW Post of Sykesville; and Loyal Order of Moose of Laurel, Md.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Diane Stickley Brosenne, whom he married
April 24, 1982; six daughters, Brenda Bowman and Angie Moses of Westminster, Md., Kathy Gaither, Bobbi Ruppenthal and Billi Ruppenthal, all of Hancock and Colleen Sheeder of Buck Valley, Pa.; five sons, William Brosenne Jr. and Michael Brosenne, both of Westminster, Douglas Steiner Jr. of Hancock, Ernest Steiner of Union Bridge, Md. and Douglas Steiner Sr. of McConnellsburg, Pa.; two sisters, Mary Louise Eyler of Sykesville, Md. and Dorothy May Thomas of Pennsylvania; four brothers, Norman Brosenne Jr. and Clint Brosenne, both of Sykesville, Paul Brosenne of Woodbine, Md. and Harry Brosenne of Baltimore City; 27 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Brosenne.
Services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 141 W. Main St. in Hancock. The Rev. Dwayne Williams will officiate. Burial with military graveside honors by Tri-State Honor Guard will be at Laurel Ridge Christian cemetery in Big Cove Tannery, Pa.
The family will receive friends today and Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. the funeral home.
Henry S. Hornbaker
SPOKANE, Wash. - Henry S. Hornbaker, 50, of Spokane, died Wednesday, March 22, 2000, in Spokane.
Born March 22, 1950, in Hagerstown, he was the son of Wanda Hornbaker Stoneberger of Hagerstown, and the late Henry Hornbaker.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 28 years, Kenlyn Hornbaker; two daughters, Brandy Hornbaker of Seattle, and Kelli Hornbaker of Spokane; one sister, Mary Miller of Pikesburg, Md.; one brother, Ray Hornbaker of Crestview, Fla.; two stepbrothers, Ray Kline of Sharpsburg and Wayne Kline of Maine; one half-sister, Lorraine Barnhart of Hagerstown; one grandchild; nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held Wednesday, March 29, at Heritage Funeral Home, 508 N. Government Way, Spokane. Pastor Jeff Doud officiated.

V. Irene Hurtman
WILLIAMSPORT - V. Irene Hurtman, 82, of 154 N. Artizan St., and formerly of Martinsburg, W.Va., died Wednesday, April 12, 2000, at Williamsport Nursing Center.
Born Sept. 12, 1917, in Good, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late William Delbert and Nora Catherine Largent Stotler.
She was formerly employed as a practical nurse at Williamsport Nursing Center.
She was a member of Willowbrook Seventh-day Adventist Church near Boonsboro.
She was a member of AARP.
She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Lloyd Samuel Hurtman; three daughters, Jonna Lee Lum of Boonsboro, and H. Carol Huntzberry and W. Jean Garnand, both of Hagerstown; a son, Dana N. Hurtman of Falling Waters, W.Va.; a sister, Etta Mae Lowe of Martinsburg; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Bast Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike in Boonsboro. The Rev. William McCall will officiate. Burial will be in Beaver Creek Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home, which will open at noon.
