Robert H. Grove
Robert Hoover "Bob" Grove, 71, of 319 Radcliffe Ave., Hagerstown, died Thursday, April 27, 2000, at his home.
Born Nov. 9, 1928, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late William A. Sr. and Bertha N. Nichols Grove.
He attended Hagerstown Junior College; and graduated from the University of Maryland.
He had been employed by Plummer Construction; C. Wm. Hetzer Inc.; and retired from the City of Hagerstown Engineering Department in 1994.
A veteran of the Korean War, he served in the U.S. Air Force.
He was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church, where he had been a member of the vestry, was a chalicist and lay lector.
He was a member of AARP; Antietam Lodge 197 AF & AM; Tall Cedars of Lebanon Hagerstown 97; Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 694; North American Rod and Gun Club; Goodwill Athletic Club; Morris Frock Post 42, American Legion; AMVETS Post 10; and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6241 of Mercersburg, Pa.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn V. "Evy" Redmond Grove; a daughter, Rebecca Savage of Raleigh, N.C.; a stepdaughter, Pamela Rae Grubbs of State Line, Pa.; a stepson, Randall Ray Weikert of Honolulu; a sister, Charlotte E. Grove of Hagerstown; a brother, William A. Grove Jr. of Hagerstown; three grandchildren; and nine stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary E. Westfell and Dorothy M. Flohr.
Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North in Hagerstown. The Rev. Patrick A. Pierce will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill cemetery in Hagerstown, with military services by Morris Frock Post 42 American Legion.
The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Lena J. Roadarmel
FREDERICK, Md. - Lena Josephine Roadarmel, 76, of 5710 Charstone Court, and formerly of Cearfoss, died Wednesday, April 26, 2000, at Frederick Memorial Hospital.
Born Oct. 9, 1923, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late John Randolph and Margarite Ellen Householder Daymude.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Truman Franklin Roadarmel, in 1987.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Downsville Christian Church in Williamsport.
She is survived by four daughters, Louise Timmons of Maugansville, Gloria Sanders of Martinsburg, W.Va., Zella Mae Capotosti of Hagerstown and Cindy Otts of Mercersburg, Pa.; two sons, Gary Roadarmel of Frederick, with whom she lived, and Ricky F. Roadarmel of Maugansville; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Ruth Cuddy, Myrtle Martin and Eva Rager; two brothers, Charles Daymude and Robert Daymude; a grandson; and a great-grandson.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Downsville Christian Church in Williamsport. The Rev. E. Reese Davis will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park in Hagerstown.
The family will receive friends Monday at 10 a.m. at the church.

Sara B. Harnish
WILLIAMSPORT - Sara Bell Harnish, 91, of Williamsport Nursing Home, and formerly of 13021 Spickler Road, Clear Spring, died Wednesday, April 26, 2000, at the nursing home.
Born April 15, 1909, in St. Mary's, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Carl A. and Dora B. Reynolds Carrier.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Andrew Harnish, in 1983.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Mount Tabor Lutheran Church of Hagerstown.
She is survived by three daughters, Carol E. Tropea of Lake Panassofer, Fla., Dora L. Garrett of Chestertown, Md. and Nancy J. Nichols of Clear Spring; six grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Millard Carrier.
Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Mount Tabor Lutheran Church. The Rev. Mary Amundson will officiate. Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Donald E. Thompson Funeral Home, 13607 National Pike in Clear Spring; and Saturday at 9 a.m. at the church.
Richard E. Wiles
FREDERICK, Md. - Richard Eugene Wiles, 75, of 7004 Edgemont Road, died Thursday, April 27, 2000, at his home.
Born Nov. 9, 1924, in Harmony, Md., he was the son of the late Oscar C. Wiles and Oneida Ausherman Wiles Warfield.
He was employed by Mutual Insurance Co. in Frederick. He retired from Sears in Frederick, where he worked as a salesman.
A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy.
He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Middletown.
He was a member of Valley Memorial Post 9 AMVETS of Middletown; and Francis Scott Key Post 11 and Old Timers at BPO Elks 684, both of Frederick.
He played baseball with the Tri-State League and Middletown-Harmony teams.
He is survived by his wife, Betty V. Brashears Wiles; two brothers, Allen E. Wiles of Frederick and Paul O. Wiles of Hansonville, Md.; two half-sisters, Nadine Tinker of Harrison, Tenn. and Gloria J. Bobacek of Middletown, Md.; a half-brother, Bernard Warfield of Frederick; an aunt; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Earl Wiles and Ernest Wiles; a half-sister, Helen Lenhart; and a half-brother, Robert Warfield.
Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Donald B. Thompson Funeral Home, 31 E. Main St. in Middletown. The Rev. Donald L. Turley will officiate. Burial will be in Lutheran cemetery in Middletown.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home, which will open at noon.

Anne H. Minnich
Anne Huyett Minnich, 81, of 411 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, died Friday, April 28, 2000, at her home.
Born July 28, 1918, in Blanchester, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Robert B. and Norma Fagel Huyett.
She attended the College of William and Mary and Maryland Institute of Art.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and served on the Altar Guild.
She was a member of the Women's Club.
She is survived by her husband, Frank L. Minnich; a daughter, Claire Mumma of Hagerstown; a son, Scott M. Minnich of Hagerstown; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert F. Huyett.
Services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Robert C. Lehman will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m.
