Geneva V. Lumm
WILLIAMSPORT - Geneva Virginia Lumm, 72, of 111 W. Potomac St., died Monday, March 6, 2000, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Sept. 24, 1927, in Washington County, she was the daughter of the late Carmen and Ruth Morgan Younkins.
Her husband, Charles F. Lumm, died in 1992.
She is survived by three daughters, Barbara Ann Morrison of Antietam, Virginia Diane Smith of Sharpsburg and Joyce Ann Bentz of Williamsport; one son, Charles Robert Lumm of Smithsburg; one sister, Betty Schroyer of Baltimore; one brother, Thurston Younkins of Libertytown, Md.; and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Kermit Younkins.
Services and burial will be at the convenience of the family.
There will be no viewing.
Arrangements are by Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd.
Daniel H. Shank
Daniel Howard Shank, 89, of Hagerstown, died Saturday, March 4, 2000, at Washington County Hospital.
Born March 16, 1910, in Cumberland, Md., he was the son of the late Jacob Henry and Claire Shives Shank.
His first wife, Ada I. Shank, died in 1973.
He was employed with R.D. McKee Inc., retiring in 1975; and was previously employed with Allied Trucking for 28 years.
He was a member of John Wesley United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Viola F. Shank of Cary, N.C.; a daughter, Betty Jane Carpenter of Sun City, Ariz.; a stepson, Richard Kauffman of Cary; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Richard W. Simpson will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Herbert M. Wenner
BOONSBORO - Herbert M. Wenner, 63, of 6413 Old National Pike, died Sunday, March 5, 2000, at Washington County Hospital in Hagerstown.
Born Jan. 21, 1937, in Brunswick, Md., he was the son of the late Herbert Malcolm and Bessie M. Grove Wenner.
He was employed by Canam Steel in Point of Rocks, Md., for 32 years.
He served in the U.S. Air Force.
He was a protestant.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Gloria V. Goetz Wenner; one daughter, Cynthia Kay Sease of Williamsport; one son, Kirk William Wenner of Middletown, Md.; two sisters, Lucy Rutherford and Betty Staubs, both of Harpers Ferry, W.Va.; one brother, Lawrence Wenner of Lovettsville, Va.; and four grandchildren.
Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Bast Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro. Joseph Goetz will officiate. Burial will be in Boonsboro Cemetery.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home, where friends may call any time after 11 a.m.
Evelyn M. Shilling
Evelyn Mae Shilling, 78, of 1334 Potomac Ave., Hagerstown, died Monday, March 6, 2000, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Dec. 5, 1921, in Chambersburg, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Isaac and Grace Freeze Heckman.
Her husband, Howard R. Shilling Jr., died in 1981.
She was employed by S.S. Kresge's at Longmeadow; Hays Inc., and Fairchild Aircraft.
She was a member of Haven Lutheran Church.
She was a member of American Legion Morris Frock Post 42 Auxiliary; and volunteered at Western Maryland Hospital Center.
She is survived by five daughters, Nancy Linger of Virginia Beach, Va., Meta Swope, Sandy Cassandra Babineau, Susan Doub and Patricia Lushbaugh, all of Hagerstown; two sons, Stanley Shilling of Hays, N.C., and Michael Shilling of Perinneville, N.J.; a sister, Alice Shadle of Chambersburg; a brother, Raymond Heckman of Chambersburg; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Torben G. Aarsand will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Thomas L. Becraft Sr.
QUINCY, Pa. - Thomas Leroy Becraft Sr., 76, of Quincy United Methodist Home, and formerly of 10902 Loop Road, Fayetteville, Pa., died Sunday, March 5, 2000, at the nursing home.
Born Sept. 5, 1923, in Waynesboro, Pa., he was the son of the late James and Clara Kauffman Becraft.
He was employed by the federal government as a restoration specialist, working at Gettysburg National Military Park from 1959 to 1984. He was a work leader for Catoctin Job Corps near Camp David; and a driving instructor from 1956 to 1959.
He served in the U.S. Army and in the National Guard in Waynesboro.
He was a member South Mountain Fish and Game Club; and National AARP.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Loretta Wagaman Becraft, whom he married
in October 1941, also of Quincy United Methodist Home; two daughters, Cleopatra Carbaugh of Mont Alto, Pa., and Connie E. Shaner of Mount Wolf, Pa.; two sons, Thomas L. Becraft Jr., of Mont Alto, and Donald L. Becraft of South Mountain, Pa.; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Services will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. The Rev. C. Albert Guyer will officiate. Burial will be in Strang's Cemetery, South Mountain.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Meyer Lahn
Meyer "Mike" Lahn, 81, of 911 Dewey Ave., Hagerstown, died Monday, March 6, 2000, at Fahrney Keedy Home, Boonsboro.
Born Dec. 2, 1918, in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Louis and Daisy Spickloser Lahn.
He was employed by JLG Industries, retiring in 1986; and previously by Fairchild Aircraft.
He was a lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force during World War II.
He was a member of Congregation B'Nai Abraham.
He is survived by his wife, Beatrice R. Lahn; a daughter, Rochelle H. Cocke of Baltimore; two sons, Alan M. Lahn of Homewood, Ill., and Joel S. Lahn of Owing Mills, Md.; a sister, Shirley Baun of Boco Raton, Fla.; four granddaughters and two grandsons.
Services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, 40 E. Antietam St., Hagerstown. Rabbi Janice Garfunkle will officiate. Burial will be in B'Nai Abraham Cemetery, Halfway. Please omit flowers.
