Ola J. Cordell
Ola Josephine Cordell, 85, of 17812 Sherman Ave., Hagerstown, died Friday, Feb. 25, 2000, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Oct. 16, 1914, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late William and Ola Dawson Huff.
Her husband, William D. Cordell, died in 1990.
She is survived by three daughters, Shirley Stineman of Indianapolis, Norma Jean Clark of Ellerslie, Md., and Sandra Nordheimer of Henderson, Nev.; a stepdaughter, Lynda C. Wiles of Hagerstown; two stepsons, Jeryl W. Cordell of San Diego and Brian J. Cordell of Fairfield, Pa.; three sisters, Evelyn Soper of Pine Valley, Calif., Betty J. Renner of Hagerstown, and Vivian Charapata of Henderson; two brothers, Wallace Huff of Clear Spring and Preston L. Huff of Deltona, Fla.; 15 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; a step-grandson; two step-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Robert D. Swank Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Richard D. Early
FREDERICK, Md. - Richard Donald Early, 76, of 2824B Old National Pike, died Sunday, Feb. 27, 2000, at Frederick Memorial Hospital.
Born July 18, 1923 in Fishers Hollow, Myersville, Md., he was the son of the late Joseph Early and Ada Holmes Early Baker.
He was a farmer for 21 years and then was employed by Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission in Rockville, Md., until his retirement.
He was a member of Harmony Church of the Brethren, Myersville.
He was a member of the auxiliary of Citizens Nursing Home, Frederick, and Montevue Home Auxiliary.
He is survived by his wife, Rosie Printz Early; three daughters, Velam Brown of Jacksonville, Fla., Doris Hodge and Grace Ramsey, both of Frederick; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Harmony Church of the Brethren. The Rev. Tracy L. Wiser will officiate. Burial will be in Harmony Cemetery, Myersville.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Donald B. Thompson Funeral Home, 31 E. Main St., Middletown, Md. Friends may visit the funeral home Tuesday at any time. He will then be moved to the church on Wednesday and visitation will be one hour prior to the services.

Dorothy J. Petre
Dorothy Janette Petre, 95, of Fahrney-Keedy Nursing Home and formerly of 813 S. Potomac St., Hagerstown, died Sunday, Feb. 27, 2000, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Nov. 2, 1904, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late William and Martha Swope Springer.
Her husband, Harry J. Petre, died in December 1989.
She was a teacher in county one-room schools and a substitute teacher. In later years, she tutored reading students.
She was a member of Hagerstown Church of the Brethren, where she served as a Sunday School teacher for many years.
She is survived by a daughter, Martha Mauch of Frederick, Md.; a grandson, Lloyd E. Mauch Jr. of LaPlata, Md.; a granddaughter, Aimee Janette Grapes of Burtonsville, Md.; two great-grandsons; two sisters, Jane Rinehart of Greencastle, Pa., and Miriam Straley of Hagerstown; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Dean M. Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Harriet V. DeJesus
Harriet V. DeJesus, 74, of 59 Charles St., Hagerstown, died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2000, at Colton Villa Nursing Center.
Born Jan. 16, 1926, in Shepherdstown, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late George N. and Marguerite H. Baxter McCann.
She retired in 1982 from Washington County Hospital as a nursing assistant. She did private duty for Dr. Bruce Edwards and Edward Kelly.
She is survived by a son, George McCann of Hagerstown; an adopted daughter, Anna Delosa of Hagerstown; three sisters, Mary Jane McCann and Thelma R. Walters, both of Hagerstown, and Betty L. Curtis of Richmond, Calif.; a brother, George N. McCann II of Hagerstown; two grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Christine Mason.
Funeral services will be held today at 11 a.m. at Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac St., Hagerstown. The Rev. Leroy Jackson will officiate.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Ethel M. Peck
BOONSBORO - Ethel May Miller Peck, 88, a resident of Reeder's Memorial Home, 141 S. Main St., and formerly of Hagerstown, died Saturday, Feb. 26, 2000, at the home.
Born Dec. 18, 1911, in Hamburg, Va., she was the daughter of the late Charles Frank and Ida Belle Martin Miller.
She was employed at Potomac Dinner in Hagerstown as a waitress for 26 years. She retired in 1975.
She was a Protestant.
She is survived by three daughters, Evelyn Stotelmyer of Boonsboro, Shirley Richardson of Orlanda, Fla., and Janet Showe of Hagerstown; two sons, Robert Peck of Lovettsville, Va., and Ronald Peck of Hagerstown; a brother, Floyd Miller of Bisbee, Ariz.; 17 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Fannie Freis, and three brothers, Charles Miller, Edmund Miller and Paul Miller.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Bast Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro. The Rev. J. Mark Curran will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown.
In lieu of flowers, the family as requested that memorial contributions be made to Beaver Creek Christian Church, 9711 Beaver Creek Road, Hagerstown, MD 21740.
Randolph L. Brandenburg
Randolph Leroy "Brandy" Brandenburg, 92, of Beaver Creek, Hagerstown, died Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2000, at his home.
Born March 14, 1907, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Roy George and Lelia Mae Ridenour Brandenburg.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Vada Stouffer Brandenburg, in 1979.
He was employed as a stationary engineer by Mack Trucks in Hagerstown, retiring in 1972. He previously was employed by Fairchild Industries and Potomac Edison.
He served in the National Guard.
He was a member of First Christian Church in Hagerstown, and was a past deacon.
He was a member of Friendship Lodge 84 AF & AM of Hagerstown; Tall Cedars of Lebanon 95 of Hagerstown; Golden Bulldogs; Funkstown AARP; Mack Retirees UAW Local 171 of Hagerstown, and served as secretary for 29 years; BPOE Elks Lodge 378; and Loyal Order of Moose of Funkstown.
He is survived by a daughter, Janet B. Marshall of Hagerstown; a sister, Betty Miller of Roseville, Calif.; a granddaughter, Teri L. Baker of Boonsboro; a grandson, Philip A. Marshall of Hagerstown; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Louise Fischel and Jeanette Powell; and a brother, Ralph Brandenburg.
There will be no viewing.
A memorial service will be held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at First Christian Church in Hagerstown. The Rev. Fred M. Harris will officiate. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
The family requests the omission of flowers.
Memorial donations may be made to First Christian Church, 1345 Potomac Ave. in Hagerstown.

Edna Diane Baker, 52, of 11 W. Baltimore St., Hagerstown, who died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2000, is survived by a son, Daniel Linn of Chambersburg, Pa.
