Edna D. Baker
Edna Diane Baker, 52, of 11 W. Baltimore St., Hagerstown, died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2000.
Born Aug. 8, 1947, in Erie, Pa., she was the daughter of Alvin Linn Sr. of Falling Waters, W.Va., and the late Blanche Burton Linn.
Her husband, Jerry Baker, died in 1985.
She is survived by three daughters, Barbara Bell of Falling Waters, Donnakay Goodman of Maugansville and Althea Stevens of Hagerstown; five sisters, Sarah Gentile of Greencastle, Pa., Medora Stoneberger of Newville, Pa., and Clara Watson, Tina Imes and Rose Jones, all of Hagerstown; six brothers, Samuel Linn of Front Royal, Va., Joseph Linn of State Line, Pa., Alvin Linn Jr. of Williamsport, David Linn of Chambersburg, Pa., and Thornie Linn and Carl Linn, both of Hagerstown; 10 grandchildren; nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Revs. Gary Linn and Dorothy Stover will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Leila B. Shank
CLEAR SPRING - Leila Belle Shank, 84, of 14628 National Pike, died Monday, Feb. 21, 2000, at Coffman Nursing Home in Hagerstown.
Born May 13, 1915, in Charlton, Md., she was the daughter of the late Ira and Julia Shank Rowe.
She was a graduate of Hagerstown High School.
She was employed by McCrory's in Hagerstown for 15 years; and retired from Fairchild Industries after 26 years.
She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Clear Spring.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Lewis E. Shank of Clear Spring; and six sisters, Louise Schnebly of Clear Spring, Lethan Rowe of Thomaston, Ga., Winifred Guch of Annandale, Va., Mary Couchman of Hagerstown, Stella Myers of Huntsville, Ala., and Helen Rawls of Atlanta.
She was preceded in death by one brother, D. Lloyd Rowe.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Clear Spring. The Rev. Richard Yates will officiate. Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the church at 10 a.m. Thursday.

Mary M. Garman
Mary Margaret Garman, 74, of 11225 Hollywood Road, Hagerstown, died Monday, Feb. 21, 2000, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Oct. 4, 1925, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Wilber Main.
She was employed by Hagerstown Auto Parts, retiring in 1990.
She was a member of First Brethren Church.
She was a volunteer at Washington County Hospital.
She is survived by her husband, David B. Garman; a son, Gary D. Garman of Burke, Va.; a sister, Catherine L. Beard of Hagerstown; two grandchildren, and a great-grandchild.
Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Bruce Foster will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Anna M. Ruse
WILLIAMSPORT - Anna Mary Ruse, 73, of 154 N. Artizan St., and formerly of 924 St. Clair St., Hagerstown, died Monday, Feb. 21, 2000, at Williamsport Retirement Village.
Born March 27, 1926, in Pinesburg, Md., she was the daughter of the late Sherman Sr. and Lillie May Lewis Taylor.
Her husband of 53 years, Donald G. Ruse, died in 1999.
She attended Mountain View Baptist Church and Maugansville Bible Brethren Church.
She is survived by three daughters, Louella M. Rowland of Clear Spring, Patricia J. Brookman of Covington, Va., and Beverly A. Henson of Williamsport; a son, Donald W. Ruse of Williamsport; three sisters, Janet L. Reynard and Margaret K. MacDonald, both of Hagerstown, and Nancy L. Bragg of Chambersburg, Pa.; two brothers, Kenneth E. Taylor of Smithsburg and Donald L. Taylor of Hagerstown; 20 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren and a great-great grandson.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy M. Cook; two sisters, R. Elaine Startzman and Maxine M. Guessford; and two brothers, Sherman Taylor Jr., and John B. Taylor.
Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, 40 E. Antietam St., Hagerstown. The Rev. John C. Hoffman will officiate. Burial will be in Broadfording Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Wilbur E. Martin
FREDERICK, Md. - Wilbur Elwood Martin, 69, of 1241C Mountain Church Road, died Monday, Feb. 21, 2000, at Frederick Memorial Hospital.
Born Jan. 17, 1931, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Wilbur and Carrie Eva Reynolds Martin.
He retired from Pulte Homes Corp. in Frederick. Previously, he was a farmer.
He served in the U.S. Army.
He was a member of AMVETS Valley Memorial Post 9.
He is survived by his wife, Leah R. Brandenberg Martin; four daughters, Elizabeth Reinig of Sykesville, Md., Wanda Payne of Hedgesville, W.Va., Tina Bailey of Middletown, Md., and Brenda Sandusky of Burkittsville, Md.; two sons, Mark Martin of Knoxville and Charles Martin of Hagerstown; two sisters, Mary Evelyn Minnick of Brunswick, Md., and Anna Fauble of Knoxville; and 11 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Mildred Griffith; one brother, Edward Martin; and one half-brother, Raymond Griffith.
Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Joseph Burdette will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill cemetery in Hagerstown with military honors by American Legion Morris Frock Post 42.
The family will receive friends today and Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Frederick G. Bremmer
Frederick George Bremmer, 77, of 18709 Fairfield Road, Hagerstown, died Monday, Feb. 21, 2000, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Dec. 3, 1922, in New York City, N.Y., he was the son of the late Frederick and Helen Oberst Bremmer.
He retired in 1987 from the engineering department of Pangborn Corporation.
A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he served in World War II and the Korean War.
He was a member of Christ's Reformed Church, and was an usher.
He was a member of Morris Frock Post 42, American Legion.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Nancy L. Bremmer; three sons, Frederick Bremmer II of Greenville, S.C., Robin John Bremmer of East Haddon, England, and Timothy Andrew Bremmer Sr., of Greencastle, Pa.; and seven grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Christ's Reformed Church, Hagerstown. The Rev. Don R. Stevenson will officiate.
There will be no visitation.
