Virginia L. Neikirk
Virginia Lee Neikirk, 78, of 1008 Brinker Drive, Hagerstown, died Friday, Feb. 18, 2000, at the home of her daughter in Brunswick, Md.
Born Sept. 3, 1921, near Smithsburg, she was the daughter of the late Clyde Harbaugh and Alta J. Kinsey Martin.
She retired from The Bon-Ton in 1987 after 31 years of service.
She is survived by a daughter, Gina Bartee of Brunswick; a son, Ricky Neikirk of Hagerstown; a sister, Phyllis Elaine Martin of Hagerstown; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Janice Swain.
Services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd. in Hagerstown. The Rev. C. Richard Masters will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family requests the omission of flowers.

Earl F. Selby Sr.
Earl Feilder Selby Sr., 89, of 1135 Luther Drive, Hagerstown, died Friday, Feb. 18, 2000, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Jan. 11, 1911, in Union Bridge, Md., he was the son of the late Noah F. and Fannie Smith Selby.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Janet L. Selby, in 1986.
He was an engineer for Western Maryland Railroad for 42 years, retiring in 1976.
He was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church.
He was a member of Civilian Conservation Corp Alumni, Hagerstown Masonic Lodge 217 AF&AM, Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Scottish Right Masons of Cumberland, Md., Ali Ghan Shrine of Cumberland, Hagerstown Shrine Club, Hagerstown Elks Lodge 378, Western Maryland Old Timers Club, Western Maryland Historical Society, The Round House Museum, and Washington County Hospital Auxiliary.
He is survived by a son, Earl F. Selby Jr. of Hagerstown; a sister, Hazel Jorden of Hagerstown; a brother, Elmer Selby of Hagerstown; his companion of 12 years, Mary Corderman of Hagerstown; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lois Selby Shaffer; a sister, Helen Selby; and a brother, Charles Selby.
Services will be Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd. in Hagerstown. The Rev. Dennis L. Upton will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home, where a Masonic Service will be conducted by members of Hagerstown Masonic Lodge 217 at 8 p.m.

George R. Williams
George R. Williams, 52, of North Locust St., Hagerstown, died Thursday, Feb. 17, 2000, at his home.
Born July 22, 1947, in Hagerstown, he was the son of Emily R. Barthlow Miller and stepson of George Miller of Hagerstown.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by two daughters, Tracy Williams and Tammy Williams, both of Hagerstown; a sister, Mary Christine Anson of Marlowe, W.Va.; and three brothers, John C. Miller, Jerry J. Miller and Mark A. Miller, all of Hagerstown.
Memorial services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Davis Funeral Home in Smithsburg. Dennis E. Unger will officiate.
Dorcas H. Lent
BROWNSVILLE, Md. - Dorcas "Dorie" H. Lent, 58, of Brownsville, died Monday, Feb. 14, 2000, in Ranson, W.Va.
She was the daughter of the late Edmond James and Mary Alice Farland Houle.
She worked for the National Park Service in Harpers Ferry, W.Va. She was formerly employed by the National Park Service in St. Thomas and St. Croix, Virgin Islands, and Kotzebue, Alaska.
She is survived by her husband, Gerald Stephen Lent, and two brothers, Fred Houle of Anaheim, Calif., and Michael Houle of Shirley, Mass.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are by Eackles-Spencer Funeral Home in Harpers Ferry.
Jane E. Motz
Jane Elizabeth "Betty" Motz, 84, of 842 W. Irvin Ave., Hagerstown, died Thursday, Feb. 17, 2000, at Coffman Nursing Home.
Born Sept. 29, 1915, in Cleveland, she was the daughter of the late Rev. John E. and Helen D. Orcutt Harms.
She was formerly employed by Valley Credit Agency.
She was a charter member of Haven Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her husband, Richard A. Motz; two sons, John E. Motz and David B. Motz, both of Hagerstown; a brother, John Edward Harms of Prince Frederick, Md.; and six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Richard A. Motz Jr.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Haven Lutheran Church, 1035 Haven Road, Hagerstown. The Rev. Torben G. Aarsand will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown.
Merle L. Clipp
KEEDYSVILLE - Merle L. Clipp, 87, of 4329 Trego Road, died Friday, Feb. 18, 2000, at Washington County Hospital.
Born May 5, 1912, in Washington County, he was the son of the late Joseph Harry and Stella Leslie Clipp.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ivy Mae Pike Clipp, in 1992.
He was a farmer, and retired from M.P. Moller Organ Co., Hagerstown, after 18 years of service.
He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Keedysville, where he was a member of Men's Sunday School Class.
He was a member of Washington County Farm Bureau.
He is survived by a daughter, Linda E. Ridenour of Hagerstown; a son, Joseph E. Clipp of Trego; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at Bast Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike in Boonsboro. The Rev. Eleanor Doub and the Rev. Carroll Boyer will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park in Hagerstown.
The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
