Robert E. Sullivan
Robert Earl Sullivan, 75, of 605 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, died Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2000, at Washington County Hospital.
Born April 28, 1924, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Earl R. and Levenia E. Harris Sullivan.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna A. Potts Sullivan, in 1996.
He had worked at Laurel Race Track. After his retirement, he was the seasonal caretaker at Wheaton Park.
He was a member of I.B.P.O.E.O.W. Pride of Hagerstown Lodge 278.
He is survived by a daughter, Rosalie L. Sullivan-Hunter of Bowie, Md.; and a grandson, Robert A. Hunter of Bowie.
He was preceded in death by a son, Donald E. Sullivan.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac St. in Hagerstown. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home.
Carroll J. Powers
ROHRERSVILLE - Carroll J. Powers, 87, of 20422 Bent Willow Road, died Thursday, Dec. 31, 1998 at Washington County Hospital.
Born Dec. 3, 1911, in Sandy Hook, he was the son of the late George B. and Jessie West Powers.
He was a retired salesman with Swift & Company, Washington, D.C., and Atlantic City, NJ, for 34 years and Safeway Inc., for 5 years.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army with the 38th Engineer Regiment.
He was a member of Sandy Hook United Methodist Church.
He was a member of Steadman-Kennan Post 96 of the American Legion, Brunswick, V.F.W. Post, Brunswick and a 50-year 32nd-degree Mason.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Doris T. Powers; two nieces and one nephew.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Charles W. Powers.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Brownsville Church of the Brethren, Brownsville, Md. The Rev. Jim Hamrick will officiate. Burial will be in Brownsville Heights Cemetery, Brownsville.
The family will receive friends Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. at Eackles-Spencer Funeral Home, 970 Washington Street, Harpers Ferry, W.Va.

Dorothy M. Kraus
Dorothy M. Kraus, 73, of 19519 Meadowbrook Road, Hagerstown, died Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2000, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Oct. 7, 1926, in Kankakee, Ill., she was the daughter of the late George and Laura Huot Sheehan.
She attended Longmeadow Church of the Brethren.
She was a member of Fountain Head Country Club.
She is survived by her husband, James Robert Kraus, whom she married
Aug. 30, 1947; a daughter, Kathy Tucker of Chambersburg, Pa.; a son, James M. Kraus of Los Angeles; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Marie Van Der Karr and Mabel Wadleigh.
Memorial services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Longmeadow Church of the Brethren, 19642 E. Longmeadow Road in Hagerstown. The Rev. Joseph Quesenberry will officiate.
Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
There will be no viewing.
The family requests the omission of flowers.

Leon Hart
BIG POOL, Md. - Leon Hart, 73, of Pecktonville Road, died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2000, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Feb. 28, 1926, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Harry A. and Clara B. Mills Hart.
A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy.
He attended Clear Spring area schools.
He was employed by Western Maryland Railroad. He retired from R.F. Kline Paving Co. in 1983.
He attended Parkhead United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Edna E. Reed Hart; two daughters, Kendra Atherton and Victoria Ahalt; four sons, Gary Leon Hart, Alan Reed Hart, Dale Richard Hart and Clair Alvey Hart; three sisters, Hazel Fritz, Lula B. Shives and Edith Martin; nine grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and a nephew.
Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Donald E. Thompson Funeral Home, 13607 National Pike in Clear Spring. The Rev. Sterling Keeney will officiate.
Burial will be in Parkhead cemetery in Big Pool with military honors by Joseph C. Herbert American Legion Post 222 of Clear Spring.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Margaret C. Forcino
Margaret Christine "Snook" Forcino, 86, of 1503 Sherman Ave., Hagerstown, died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2000, at her home.
Born July 19, 1913, in Washington County, she was the daughter of the late George W. and Hazel L. Rudisill Stevens.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Perry Forcino, in 1960.
She was head baker with the Washington County Hospital Association for 27 years.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
She was a member of AARP; and North American Rod and Gun Club Auxiliary.
She is survived by two daughters, Dianne Householder of Downsville and Linda J. Carnes of Hagerstown; two sons, Charles M. Harne of Hagerstown and Michel S. Forcino of Downsville; two sisters, Jane I. Price of Hagerstown and Mary J. Churchey of Maugansville; two brothers, Donald J. Stevens of Hagerstown and Francis A. Stevens of Smithsburg; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Jack H. Stevens, John Lee Stevens and Robert L. Stevens.
Services will be Friday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 224 W. Washington St. in Hagerstown. The Rev. George A. Limmer will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven cemetery in Hagerstown.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m., with prayers at 7 p.m. and at 7:15 p.m.

Anna E. Bew
Anna Elizabeth Bew, 99, of 813 Mulberry Ave., Hagerstown, died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2000, at Reader's Nursing Home in Boonsboro.
Born May 27, 1900, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late George and Nettie Bragunier Schlotterbeck.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Bew, in 1960.
She was employed by Dr. Edward W. Ditto Jr. for 23 years.
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church.
She is survived by cousins, nieces and nephews.
Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd. in Hagerstown. The Rev. Edward H. Heim will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.
