Elizabeth B. Kunz
BOONSBORO - Elizabeth Benedict Kunz, 96, of Fahrney-Keedy Home, died Saturday, Feb. 12, 2000, at the home.
Born April 7, 1903, in Waynesboro, Pa., she was the daughter of the late S. Allison and Florence V. Kale Benedict.
Her husband, George Kunz, died in 1977.
She graduated in 1921 from Waynesboro High School; and in 1924 from University of Pennsylvania Hospital School of Nursing.
She worked as a visiting nurse in Philadelphia; was a house parent at Hershey School for Orphans from 1948 to 1953; and was an administrator at Fahrney-Keedy from 1953 to 1965.
She is survived by a niece, Betty Kinzie of Royersford, Pa.; two great-nieces, and two great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Gladys B. Layman; and a brother, James Gail Benedict.
Memorial services will be Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Faith Chapel, 14 S. Potomac St., Hagerstown. The Rev. Larry R. Gamby will officiate. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
There will be no viewing.

Lottie P. Tracy
SMITHSBURG - Lottie P. Tracy, 87, of Blue Mt. Estates, and Fahrney-Keedy Home, Boonsboro, died Saturday, Feb. 12, 2000, at Washington County Hospital, Hagerstown.
Born in Elkton Rockingham County, Va., she was the daughter of the late George H. and Lessie L. Wood Shifflett.
Her husband, Blaine M. Tracy, died in 1984.
She was a member of Fahrney-Keedy Chapel Church of the Brethren.
She was a member of Fahrney-Keedy Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by four daughters, Alice Weicht of Flintstone, Md., Nancy Hose of Smithsburg, Ruth Draper of Blue Ridge Summit, Pa., and Janet Sulser of Hagerstown; five sons, Ralph Tracey of Greencastle, Pa., Carroll Tracy and Dale Tracy, both of Leitersburg, Peanut Tracy and Frank Tracy, both of Waynesboro, Pa.; a sister, Marie Peiffer of Leitersburg; a brother, Leardie Shifflett of Quincy, Pa.; 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Margie Coleman and two brothers, Leonard Shifflett and George Shifflett.
Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Davis Funeral Home, Smithsburg. The Rev. Louis L. Emerick will officiate. Burial will be in Harbaugh Cemetery, Rouzerville, Pa.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Rosie V. Smith
Rosie Viola Staley Smith, 78, of Hagerstown, died Saturday, Feb. 12, 2000, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Aug. 31, 1921, in Clear Spring, she was the daughter of the late Charles Clayton and Daisy Catherine Mills Staley.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Charles Smith.
She was a member of VFW Post 896 and Moose Lodge 120.
She is survived by a daughter, Omah Odessa Bittinger of Martinsburg, W.Va.; a son, Melvin Eugene Staley of Hagerstown; a sister, Frances Shaffer of Mercersburg, Pa.; a brother, Robert Staley of Hagerstown; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four sisters, Bessie Staley, Christine Chaney, Barbara Ellen Newland and Gracie Staley; and two brothers, Charles Staley Jr., and Leroy Staley.
Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Rosedale Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Michael Bageant will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Lloyd L. Beard Sr.
Lloyd Luther Beard Sr., 91, of Coffman Nursing Home, Hagerstown, and formerly of Rench Road, died Friday, Feb. 11, 2000, at Coffman Nursing Home.
Born May 25, 1908, in Union Bridge, Md., he was the son of the late Jacob William Beard and Grace Dean McClelland Beard Butts.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Aletha Marie Roser Beard, in 1985.
He retired in 1981 from Eastern Roper Manufacturing. He retired in 1973 from Mack Trucks. Earlier, he owned and operated Beard's Garage in Hagerstown.
He was a member of Rehoboth United Methodist Church in Williamsport.
He was a member of UAW Local 171 Retired of Hagerstown.
He is survived by four daughters, Grace D. Irvin of Clear Spring, Evelyn A. Routzahn and Gloria L. Renner, both of Hagerstown, and Delores M. Doody of Adamstown, Md.; three sons, Lloyd L. Beard Jr. of Longview, Texas, Jacob W. Beard of Boonsboro and Larry D. Beard of Elgin, S.C.; a sister, Hilda Summers of Walkersville, Md.; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Woods; a brother, Roger Beard; a granddaughter; and a grandson.
Services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St. in Williamsport. The Rev. James E. Swecker will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park in Hagerstown.
The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. The funeral home will be open Monday after 9 a.m. for the convenience of family and friends.

Adrian C. Faith
CLEAR SPRING - Adrian Charles Faith, 86, of 14510 Mercersburg Road, died Friday, Feb. 11, 2000.
Born Sept. 8, 1913, in Clear Spring, he was the son of the late Charles C. and Cora G. Sword Faith.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Anna Bella Faith, and his second wife, Grace Faith.
He retired in 1977 from Western Maryland Railroad after 32 years of service.
He was a farmer in Clear Spring.
He was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church in Hagerstown.
He is survived by a daughter, Audrey Weller of Clear Spring; three stepchildren; two sisters, Marie Schllelle of Clear Spring and Ruth Ashton of Martinsburg, W.Va.; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Gladys Munson, Veva Turner and Geneva Marrow; and two brothers, Earl Faith and John Faith.
Services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Mountain View Baptist Church, Walnut Point Road in Hagerstown. The Rev. Gardiner Gentry will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill cemetery in Clear Spring.
