Hudson R. Powell
Hudson R. Powell, 87, of Herman Myers Road, Hagerstown, died Thursday, Feb. 3, 2000, at Fahrney Keedy Home in Boonsboro.
Born March 29, 1912, in Franklin, Va., he was the son of the late Samuel J. and Mary B. Raiford Powell.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Myrtis J. Powell.
He was employed by Wright Construction Company.
He was a member of Black Creek Baptist Church in Franklin.
He is survived by two sons, Robert R. Powell of Clear Spring and Carroll E. Powell of Hagerstown; three sisters, Pauline Bulls and Emma Lee Branch, both of Franklin, and Gladys Branch of Newport News, Va.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Hilda Mae Storey, and four brothers, Raleigh Powell, Eardley Powell, Fletcher Powell and Paul Powell.
Services will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at Rest Haven Cemetery, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave. in Hagerstown. The Rev. Ernest W. Thompson will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, 40 E. Antietam St. in Hagerstown.

Constance G. Resh
Constance Glenna Resh, 68, of 830 Westwood St., Hagerstown, died Thursday, Feb. 3, 2000, at Washington County Hospital.
Born June 21, 1931, in Washington County, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Pearl Martin Shambaugh.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Lewis Resh, in 1985.
She attended Hagerstown High School.
She was owner and operator of Richardson's Restaurant.
She was a member of St. Andrew's United Methodist Church.
She was a member of West Hagerstown Lions, Circus Bowling League in Longmeadow, Washington County Restaurant and Beverage Foundation, AARP, Republican Club and Elephant Club.
She is survived by a daughter, Vicki Resh of Hagerstown; two sons, James E. Resh and Robert W. Resh, both of Hagerstown; three granddaughters; and a great-grandson.
Services will be Monday at 11:30 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Revs. Travis Knoll and Don R. Stevenson will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

William S. Pryor
William Stake "Bill" Pryor, 72, of 435 E. Oak Ridge Drive, Hagerstown, died Thursday, Feb. 3, 2000, at Washington County Hospital.
Born March 7, 1927, in Williamsport, he was the son of the late Frank and Lillian Ward Pryor.
He served in the U.S. Army.
He was employed by Terminix for 35 years, and was co-owner of the Shortstop Tavern.
He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
He was a member of American Legion Funkstown Post 211 and AARP.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen Rachor Pryor; a daughter, Mary Susan Montag of Richlands, N.C.; a son, Michael William Pryor of Williamsport; two sisters, Jane Robertson of Williamsport and Phyllis Payne of Emmitsburg, Md.; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Matthew David Pryor; a sister, Paula Heefner; and two brothers, Wilson Pryor and Kenneth Pryor.
Services will be Monday at 9:30 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. George A. Limmer will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Carroll M. Rohrer
Carroll Miller Rohrer, 91, of 11 W. Baltimore St., Hagerstown, and formerly of Boonsboro, died Friday, Feb. 4, 2000, at Colton Villa Nursing Center in Hagerstown.
Born Dec. 3, 1908, in Rohrersville, he was the son of the late Elmer J.S. and Cora A. Clopper Rohrer.
He was formerly employed by Crowl's Garage in Boonsboro, owned and operated Rohrer's Garage for 20 years, and retired from Hagerstown Trust Co. after 13 years.
He was a member of Salem United Methodist Church in Keedysville, where he was a member of Men's Bible Class and a former choir member.
He was a member of Boonsboro Senior Citizens and Boonsboro Volunteer Fire Co. He also had served on the Boonsboro Park Board.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Agnes Louise Fisher Rohrer; a daughter, Elaine Reid of Clear Spring; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Joan L. Rohrer; four sisters, May Longnecker, Margaret Geltmacher, Hazel Rohrer and Susan Rohrer; and three brothers, John Rohrer, Charles Rohrer and Richard Rohrer.
Graveside services will be today at 11 a.m. at Boonsboro Cemetery. The Rev. Kenneth J. Fizer Jr. will officiate.
There will be no viewing or visitation.
The family requests the omission of flowers.

Ruth V. Branchen
Ruth V. Branchen, 90, of 16 Moller Parkway, Hagerstown, died Thursday, Feb. 3, 2000, at Washington County Hospital.
Born March 23, 1909, in Waynesboro, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Rachel Pecher Sneeringer.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter "Pete" Branchen, in 1983. They were married
in 1956.
She was a 1927 graduate of Waynesboro High School and a graduate of a business school in Baltimore.
She traveled throughout the United States while working with the Public Health Survey as a secretary from the 1940s until her retirement in 1971.
She worked as a secretary while serving in the U.S. Women's Army Corps in the 1930s. She was stationed in Aberdeen, Md.
She was a member of the Democratic Committee and animal rights groups.
She is survived by a stepdaughter, Leslie Wilson of California; a sister, Zita Hobbs of Fairfield, Pa.; her guardians and caregivers, Elizabeth Lefebure-O'Neill of Hagerstown and John Lefebure of Ringgold; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by four sisters, Mary Sneeringer, Elizabeth Sneeringer, Corona Cohen and Josephine Lefebure.
Services will be Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St. in Waynesboro. The Rev. Andrew S. Mohl will officiate.
The family will receive friends Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
