Ruth A. Fox
FREDERICK, Md. - Ruth Ann Sutton Fox, 75, of Frederick, died Friday, Feb. 4, 2000, at Frederick Memorial Hospital.
Born in 1924 in Sistersville, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Ruth Norcross Sutton and Wayne Francis Sutton.
In Frederick, she was a member of Good Shepherd Evangelical Lutheran Church, Golden Age Group, church committees and the church council. She also taught Sunday School.
While living in Hagerstown, she was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and was a Sunday School teacher and choir attendant. She also served on various committees, including the Golden Age group.
She was a member of Washington County Hospital Auxiliary and the Thurmont and Woodsboro dance clubs. She also was a member of the Jeanne Bussard Workshop Committee, serving as chairperson and committee interface with the board of directors, and VFW Women's Nine Hole Golf Group, serving as chairperson.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Charles Madison Fox; three sons, Britt Fox of Ellicott City, Md., Curt Fox of Orange, Calif., and Dana Fox of Jefferson, Md.; a sister, Jean Brookover of Huntington, W.Va.; a brother, John Sutton of Frederick; a foster daughter, Lindy Keeley of Las Vegas; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Peggy Hinchcliff.
A memorial service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Good Shepherd Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1415 W. Seventh St., Frederick. Burial will be in Mount Olivet cemetery Mausoleum, Frederick.
Her remains were donated to science. There will be no viewing or burial services.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church endowment fund.
Betty L. Renner
Betty Lee Renner, 62, of 13617 Royal Road, Hagerstown and formerly of Dale Street, died Thursday, Feb. 3, 2000, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Oct. 7, 1937, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of David P. and Mildred E. Godlove Hawthorne of Hagerstown.
She attended Maranatha Brethren Church.
She had been employed as a proofreader by The Stationery House in Hagerstown.
She was a member of Berkeley County Izaak Walton League; and Thrifty-Thirty Duckpin Bowling League.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Earl M. Renner Jr., whom she married
Nov. 17, 1958; five daughters, Vicki L. Sefsic, Bobbie R. Renner, Patti E. Knode and Sandi D. Turner, all of Hagerstown, and Milli D. Hansford of Mann's Choice, Pa.; two sisters, Delores E. Lindsay of Hagerstown and Alona F. Craighead of Falling Waters, W.Va.; two brothers, David A. Hawthorne and Johnny P. Hawthorne, both of Hagerstown; 10 grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Lonnie Dean Renner; and a grandson.
Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac St. in Hagerstown. The Rev. Jay Fretz will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Michael R. Kline
Michael Ray Kline, 50, of 499 Mitchell Ave., Hagerstown, died Thursday, Feb. 3, 2000, at Washington County Hospital.
Born June 17, 1949, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Ray Richard and Rhoda V. Reed Kline.
He was the manager of 40 West Lounge.
He was a member of Goodwill Athletic Club.
He is survived by his wife, Geneva A. Hough Kline, whom he married
Jan. 27, 1968; a daughter, Judy L. McIntyre of Hagerstown; three sisters, Leona Gardner, Iris Stone and Mildred Kline, all of Hagerstown; two brothers, Charles Kline and Homer Kline, both of Hagerstown; a grandson; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Difenderfer; and a brother, Harry Kline.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac St. in Hagerstown. The Rev. Timothy Fisher will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Michael P. Hogan
Michael Patrick Hogan, 30, of 11549 Selema Road, Hagerstown, died Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2000, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Feb. 13, 1969, in Hagerstown, he was the son of Robert James Hogan Jr. of Newburg, Pa., and Vicki Ann DeBhul of North Carolina.
He was employed by S.P.S. Home Improvement.
He served in the U.S. Army.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his stepmother, Judy A. Hogan of Shippensburg, Pa.; his fiancee, Stacey Starliper of Hagerstown; a stepdaughter, Lacee Starliper of Hagerstown; a stepsister, Ann Sprecher of Sabillasville, Md.; a stepbrother, James M. Burdett of Hagerstown; paternal grandparents, Robert and Shirley Hogan of Lakeland, Fla.; step-maternal grandparents, Harry and Lois English of Leesburg, Fla.; two uncles; and his former wife, Carol Hogan of Martinsburg, W.Va.
There will be no viewing. Services and burial will be at the convenience of the family.

Donald W. Dawson Sr.
FREDERICK, Md. - Donald William "Shelly" Dawson Sr., 75, of 6409A Weatherby Court, and formerly of Brunswick, Md., died Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2000, at Frederick Memorial Hospital.
Born Sept. 6, 1924, in Brunswick, he was the son of the late Thomas William and Della Mae Grams Dawson.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Marino Painter Dawson.
He was a 1943 graduate of Brunswick High School.
He retired as owner and operator of Dawson's TV and Appliances; and Shelly's Cleaners, both of Brunswick.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church.
He was a member of Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1582; and Steadman-Keenan Post 96 of American Legion, all of Brunswick.
He served as president of Brunswick Little League for 17 years; and was a former Brunswick city councilman.
He is survived by two daughters, Donna Poffinberger of Jefferson, Md., and Pamela Keeling of Knoxville, Md.; a son, Donald W. Dawson Jr. of Frederick; two sisters, Marion McGuinn of Randallstown, Md., and Kathleen Malooley of Hanover, Pa.; an uncle; and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Norman Lee Dawson and Robert E. Dawson.
Services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Brunswick. The Rev. Clark D. Carr will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Olivet cemetery in Lovettsville, Va.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. at John T. Williams Funeral Home, 100 Petersville Road in Brunswick. The funeral home will be open Saturday from 11 a.m.
