Edward E. Racey
FREDERICK, Md. - Edward Eugene Racey, 71, of 15 Winchester St., died Monday, Jan. 31, 2000, at Washington (D.C.) Hospital Center.
Born Dec. 22, 1928, in Leesburg, Va., he was the son of the late Royd and Elizabeth Spring Racey.
He was retired from Chemical Leaman Tank Line, Hagerstown, as a driver.
He was a member of Teamsters Union, Hagerstown.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Sherry Dianna Hiltner Racey; a daughter, Lori Jean Racey-Beam of Frederick; four sons, Edward Michael Racey of Charleston, W.Va., James Racey of Hagerstown, Richard Eugene Racey and Jeffrey Scott Racey, both of Frederick; and three grandchildren.
Services will be Thursday at 3 p.m. at Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick. Private burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Chester F. Pryor
SMITHSBURG - Chester F. "Buck" Pryor, 86, of 13410 Kretsinger Road, died Monday, Jan. 31, 2000, at Washington County Hospital of a heart attack.
Born Sept. 5, 1913, in Highfield, he was the son of the late Joseph H. and Margaret Fitz Pryor.
His wife, Elizabeth G. Curry Pryor, died Sept. 9, 1995. They were married
June 26, 1951.
He was employed as a construction laborer; then with Washington Terminal Co., Washington, D.C., as a railroad car inspector for 33 years, retiring in 1975.
He served in the U.S. Army.
He was a member of Germantown Bethel Church of God, Cascade.
He was a member of Brotherhood of Railroad Carmen of America, Capital Lodge 364.
He is survived by a stepdaughter, Laura Elizabeth Wright of Norfolk, Va.; three sisters, Marcella Hershberger and Dorothy Jean Brown, both of Smithsburg, and Sherry Humbert of Florida; a brother, Stanton Pryor of Sabillasville; step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Linda L. Ridenour.
Services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. The Rev. Paul Tobias will officiate. Burial will be in Bethel Church Cemetery, Cascade.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Lloyd S. Spigler
Lloyd S. Spigler, 71, of 509 Ridge Ave., Hagerstown, died Monday, Jan. 31, 2000, at Washington County Hospital.
Born July 2, 1928, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Jessie N. and Ruby V. Mays Spigler.
He retired in 1990 from M. P. Moller as an installer.
He was a member of Living Waters Chapel, Pinesburg, Md.
He was a member of the Moose of Maryland.
He is survived by a brother, Ray E. Spigler of Hagerstown.
Services will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac St., Hagerstown. The Rev. John L. Buchanan will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Harold E. Crabtree
Harold Ervin Crabtree, 63, of 353 E. Franklin St., Hagerstown, died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2000, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Jan. 19, 1937, in Picardy, Md., he was the son of the late William W. and Margaret C. Gillam Crabtree.
He was retired from Frick Co. in Waynesboro, Pa.
A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served in the Korean War.
He attended St. Mary's Catholic Church.
He was a member of American Legion and U.A.W.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Rose Mary Crabtree; two stepsons, Stanley R. Wolfensberger of Funkstown and Stephen L. Wolfensberger of Hagerstown; five sisters, Virginia Lewis, Catherine A. Heiston, Jeannie C. Sours, Dorothy Kave, and Daisy M. Kinzer, all of Hagerstown; a brother, Evans L. Crabtree of Hagerstown; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a stepson, Joseph G. Wolfensberger; and two brothers, Judea E. Crabtree and William D. Crabtree.
Services will be Thursday at 9:30 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. George A. Limmer will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.

LEITERSBURG - William "Willie" Harry Rohrer, 82, of 21523 Leitersburg-Smithsburg Road, died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2000. Burial will be in Mountain View cemetery in Sharpsburg.
Violet L. Harlow
Violet Lovease Pumphrey Harlow, 90, of 33 S. Locust St., Hagerstown, died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2000, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Jan. 3, 1910, in Cimion, Va., she was the daughter of the late Frank and Flora Busby Pumphrey.
She was a member of Jehovah's Witnesses.
She is survived by one daughter, Mary Rebecca Bloyer of Hagerstown; four grandchildren, David Cobb of Troy, Va., Joseph Cobb of Charlottsville, Va., Marie Melton of Crozet, Va., and Bonnie Rodgers of Keswick, Va.; seven great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Virginia Harlow Cobb; two half-sisters; and one half-brother.
Services will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, 40 E. Antietam St., Hagerstown. Rodger Ridenour will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
Eloise C. Barr
Eloise Catherine Barr, 76, of 1601 Dual Highway, Hagerstown, died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2000, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Oct. 16, 1923, in Boonsboro, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Mary Grimm.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Barr.
She attended Victory Baptist Church, Boonsboro.
She was a member of American Legion, Morris Frock Post 42 Auxiliary, Moose Club International, and Williamsport Redmen Lodge 84 Auxiliary.
She is survived by two daughters, Dolores Hahn and Bonnie Norris, both of Hagerstown; a stepdaughter, Patsy Murray of Hagerstown; three stepsons, Earl Barr, George Barr and Bernard Barr, all of Hagerstown; a sister, Marjorie Getridge of Hagerstown; seven grandchildren; several step grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Leon Grimm and Pete Grimm.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Ed Wade will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.
