Geraldine L. Cooper
BOONSBORO - Geraldine Love Dood Cooper, 79, formerly of 1919 Lexington Ave., Hagerstown, died Sunday, Jan. 16, 2000, at Reeder Nursing Home, Boonsboro.
Born Jan. 23, 1920, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Inez Linder Feigley.
Her husband, Francis Alvey Cooper, died in 1973.
She was formerly employed at M.P. Moller and J.J. Newberry's.
She was a member of St. Matthew's United Methodist Church.
She is survived by two sisters, Jeanette Robison of Hagerstown and Erie Pauline Wingert of Greencastle, Pa.; a brother, James Feigley of Hagerstown; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Genevieve Detrow; and a brother, Robert Feigley.
Services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. John W. Schildt will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Sarah A. Younker
HANCOCK - Sarah Ann Younker, 52, of Woodmont Road, died Sunday, Jan. 16, 2000, at Ravenwood Lutheran Village in Hagerstown.
Born May 7, 1947, in Berkeley Springs, W.Va., she was the daughter of Elizabeth Gallion Morris of Hancock and the late Ernest Morris.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Pleasant Grove Christian Church, Warfordsburg, Pa.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Ray E. Younker, whom she married
Jan. 26, 1964; a daughter, Rebecca Sue McFadden of Hancock; two sons, Ray E. Younker Jr. of Warfordsburg and Ronald Lee Younker of Hancock; a sister, Della Smith of Warfordsburg; six brothers, Ernest Morris of Warfordsburg, Robert Morris of Mercersburg, Pa., Lester Morris, Walter Morris and Chris Morris, all of Hancock, and Wayne Morris of Hagerstown; and seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Golden and a brother, Jeffrey Morris.
Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Pleasant Grove Christian Church, 3013 Pleasant Grove Road, Warfordsburg. The Revs. Denver Plessinger and Robert D. Smith Sr. will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Hancock Assembly of God Church, Pennsylvania Ave., Hancock, which will be open from 3 p.m.

W. Thackara Brown
WILLIAMSPORT - William Thackara Brown, 94, of 16505 Virginia Ave., died Sunday, Jan. 16, 2000, at his home.
Born Jan. 1, 1906, in Camden, N.J., he was the son of the late Harry and Geralda Thackara Brown.
He attended Drexel University in Philadelphia, majoring in chemistry.
He had been employed by Wellsbach Chemical Co., Mechling Brothers Chemical Co., and General Chemical Co., all in Camden; and Sherwin-Williams Co. in Gloucester, N.J.
In 1946 he became plant manager for the insecticide division of Central Chemical Co., retiring in 1971 as assistant sales manager. He then worked in the travel industry as a group tour leader, retiring in 1987.
He was a member of Hagerstown Lions Club, holding the offices of president, secretary and was deputy district governor of Lions International.
He was a member of John Wesley United Methodist Church and taught the Wesleyan Class. He was a public speaker and taught a church layman's course in public speaking.
He initiated and taught a Dale Carnegie program in the area; and was a member of a Washington, D.C., speakers' bureau.
He was a member of the group that founded Hagerstown Union Rescue Mission and was on the mission board until 1999. He was a member of Potomac Playmakers.
He is survived by his wife, Esther Kean Brown, whom he married
Oct. 13, 1930; one son, W. Thackara Brown Jr. of Ocean Isle, N.C.; and one grandson, W. Thackara Brown III.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Milton Brown.
Services will be Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Richard W. Simpson will officiate. Burial will be private.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

Frances Henderson
SHARPSBURG - Frances Henderson, 58, of 18809 Mount Lock Hill Road, died Sunday, Jan. 16, 2000, at Washington County Hospital.
Born July 26, 1941, in Bowie, Md., she was the daughter of the late Herman Frederick and Bertha P. Fiel Martin.
She was employed by Life Technology Inc. in Frederick, Md.
She was a member of A.B.A.T.E. of Maryland, and Broken Wing Foundation in Boonsboro.
She is survived by her husband, James H. Henderson Sr.; one daughter, Cathy L. Akers of Delta, Pa.; two sons, James H. Henderson Jr. of Elkridge, Md., and Robert Lee Henderson Sr. of Laurel, Md.; one sister, Kay Lumley of Laurel; five brothers, Raymond Martin, Flick Martin, Junior Martin, Buddy Martin and Kenny Wayne Martin, all of Bowie; and 10 grandchildren.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Bast Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro. The Rev. Chester Martin will officiate. Burial will be in Samples Manor cemetery in Sharpsburg.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m.
Mary A. Sharon
WILLIAMSPORT - Mary Ann Sharon, 85, of 16852 Virginia Ave., died Sunday, Jan. 16, 2000, at Western Maryland Hospital Center.
Born Aug. 25, 1914, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late James and Mary Kenney Colbert.
Her husband, Edward C. Sharon, died in 1970.
She trained and worked at Victor Cullen Hospital in Sabillasville; and at Western Maryland Hospital Center, retiring in the late 1970s.
She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
She was a member of National Federation of Licensed L.P.N.'s; Knights of Columbus Auxiliary, Hagerstown; American Legion, Funkstown Post 211 Auxiliary; Catholic Daughter's of St. Joseph's Catholic Church; and Women's Ball Room Dance Club of Hagerstown.
She was in the Vatican in 1975, for the Canonization of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton.
She is survived by a granddaughter, Andrea Kay Smith of Hagerstown; a grandson, Joseph C. Sharon of Boonsboro; two great-grandchildren; three step grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Ann Sharon; an infant son, Leonard Sharon; and a son, Edward J. Sharon, in 1998.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. The Rev. Christopher Moore will be celebrant. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown.
