Noel A. Saunders

MYERSVILLE, Md. - Noel A. Saunders, 27, formerly of Myersville, died Friday, Jan. 7, 2000, in Portland, Ore.

Born Sept. 26, 1972, in Frederick, Md., he was the son of Alfred W. and Judith Anne Carl Saunders of Myersville.

He was a 1990 graduate of Middletown High School; and a graduate of Portland Community College. He was a student at Portland State College.

He was an Eagle Scout.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by five sisters, Jennifer Saunders of Salt Lake City, Joy Saunders of Centerville, Va., Molly Saunders of Frederick, and Abigail Saunders and Joan Saunders, both of Myersville; five brothers, Roan Saunders and Chad Saunders, both of Frederick, Matthew Saunders of Camp Casey, Seoul, Korea, Brigham Saunders of Williamsport and Reed Saunders of Brigham Young University, Provo, Utah; a niece and a nephew.

Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 199 North Place, Frederick. Bishop Leon Hewerdine will officiate. Burial will be in Harmony Community Cemetery, Brethren Church Road, Myersville.

The family will receive friends in the Relief Society Room of the church Saturday from 8:30 to 10 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Jefferson Ward, Humanitarian Aid Fund, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, c/o Bishop Leon Hewerdine, 2513 Quebec School Road, Middletown, MD 21769.

Arrangements are by Ricketts Funeral Home, Myersville.

Mary E. McCabe

Mary Elizabeth McCabe, 78, of 303-B N. Colonial Drive, Hagerstown, died Monday, Jan. 10, 2000, at Washington County Hospital.

Born Jan. 28, 1921, in Shamokin, Pa., she was the daughter of the later Albert F. and Mary Richard Bailets.

Her husband, Philip Anthony McCabe, died Dec. 9, 1999.

She was employed at Hoschild-Kohn's in Baltimore as a beautician for about 50 years.

She is survived by a daughter, Kathy Pompell of Smithsburg; a son, Dennis Titus of Harrisburg, Pa.; two stepdaughters, Julie Gillooie of Bel Air, Md., and Andrea McCabe of Havre de Grace, Md.; two brothers, John Bailets of Sunbury, Pa., and Albert Bailets of Northumberland, Pa.; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Alfred Bailets and Ralph Bailets, and a half brother, Frank Boyer.

Services will be Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Loyal H. Vanderveer will officiate.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Committal services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Loudon Park Chapel, Baltimore. The Rev. Loyal H. Vanderveer will officiate.

The family will receive friends at the chapel one hour prior to the service.

Ellen V. Woodring

Ellen V. Woodring, 67, of 300 Northern Ave., died Monday, Jan. 10, 2000, at Washington County Hospital.

Born April 5, 1932, in Clarksburg, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Ira D. and Evelyn C. Windsor Wright.

Her husband, Charles L. Woodring, died in 1991.

She retired from Maryland Ribbon Co. after 15 years.

She was a member of Morris Frock Post 42 American Legion Ladies' Auxiliary.

She is survived by a daughter, Carolyn E. Hammond of Sharpsburg; five sons, Thomas B. Woodring of Denton, Texas, James E. Woodring of Greencastle, Pa., George M. Woodring of Williamsport, Pa., Larry E. Woodring of Lancaster, Pa., and Richard A. Woodring of Chambersburg, Pa.; four sisters, Jean A. Fisher and Joanne G. Wagaman, both of Waynesboro, Pa., Mary Lou Myers of Harrisonville, Pa., and Karen S. Pickett of Walkersville, Md.; a brother, Charles D. Wright of Mercersburg, Pa.; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Services will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac St., Hagerstown. The Rev. Paul Tobias will officiate. Burial will be at Parklawn Cemetery, Chambersburg.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Harold Swisher

FUNKSTOWN - Harold "Lefty" Swisher, 74, of Funkstown, died Monday, Jan. 10, 2000, at Washington County Hospital.

Born Dec. 8, 1925, in Franklin County, Pa., he was the son of the late Abram B. Swisher and Theresa I. Davis Swisher Snyder.

He was employed by R.F. Kline Inc., retiring after 32 years.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He was a member of North American Rod and Gun Club; American Legion, Funkstown Post 211; Goodwill Athletic Club, and VFW Post 1936.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Jean Kisner Swisher; two sons, Steven L. Swisher of Erie, Colo., and Barry F. Swisher of Funkstown; a sister, Frances Crouse of Fayetteville, Pa.; two brothers, Charles Swisher of Chambersburg, Pa., and Donald Swisher of York Haven, Pa.; and five grandchildren.

Funeral services and burial will be at the convenience of the family.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown.

The family requests the omission of flowers. Memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society, 1037 Haven Road, Hagerstown, MD 21742.

Jay P. Kelley

Jay Patrick Kelley, 46, of 11828 Linbar Drive, and formerly of Brunswick, Md., died Monday, Jan. 10, 2000, at Washington County Hospital.

Born June 23, 1953, in Hagerstown, he was the son of Miriam M. Schildknecht Kelley of Boonsboro and the late Hewes Davis Kelley.

He was a 1971 graduate of Boonsboro High School, a 1973 graduate of Hagerstown Junior College and a 1975 graduate of Shepherd College in Shepherdstown, W.Va.

He was employed by St. Moritz Security in Frederick, Md., and had been a paper carrier in Boonsboro for The Morning Herald.

He was a member of Potomac Believers Fellowship in Brunswick and a former treasurer. He attended Tri-State Church of God in Boonsboro.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Carole A. Caldwell Kelley, two daughters, Jessica J. Kelley of Hagerstown and Laura E. Kelley, at home; a son, Jacob H. Kelley, at home; an uncle and a cousin.

Services will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at Tri-State Church of God, 7605 Old National Pike, Boonsboro. The Rev. Charles Andrews will officiate. Burial will be in Boonsboro Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Bast Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro, which will be open from noon.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Laura and Jacob Kelley Trust, c/o F&M Bank, 22940 Jefferson Blvd., Smithsburg, MD 21783.

Jean B. Frame

WILLIAMSPORT - Jean Bunnell Frame, 73, of 16615 Coney Court, died Monday, Jan. 10, 2000, at Washington County Hospital.

Born March 14, 1926, in Sale Cheshire, England, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Alice Wilson Bunnell.

She is survived by her husband, Charles William Frame; two daughters, Kathryn Cox and Teresa Johnson, both of Cumberland, Md.; three sons, Michael Charles Frame of Washington, D.C., Thomas Bryan Frame of Williamsport, and Christopher Alan Frame of Newburyport, Mass.; two sisters, Irene King of Colwyn Bay, Wales, and Marie Dolan of Jersey, Channel Islands; a brother, David Bunnell of Queensland, Australia; five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. George A. Limmer will officiate. Burial will be private.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
