Mary E. Henson
Mary E. Henson, 75, of 247 N. Mulberry St., Hagerstown, died Saturday, Jan. 1, 2000, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Feb. 28, 1924, in Washington County, she was the daughter of the late Daniel F. and Mary A. Barger.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
She was involved with mission work with children.
She is survived by her husband, Alfred W. Henson; eight daughters, Linda L. Martin, Mary Champion, Ann Mills, Evelyn Detwiler, Mildred Betts, Tina Stottlemyer, Roseann Brewer and Linda P. Henson, all of Hagerstown; a son, Calvin Murray of Hagerstown; two sisters, Mildred Powell of Williamsport and Nora Lee Cramer of Hagerstown; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by five brothers.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church. The Rev. Robert Morey will be celebrant. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac St., Hagerstown.
Helen G. Semler
Helen G. Semler, 92, of 217 N. Cleveland Ave., died Friday, Dec. 31, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Feb. 27, 1907, in Zeiglerville, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Charles H. and Mary E. Fultz Fultz.
Her husband, William E. Semler, died in 1980.
She is survived by a daughter, Helen F. Birdsall of Hagerstown; a sister, Lena Walker of Chambersburg, Pa.; two grandchildren; one great-grandson; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by seven sisters and four brothers.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac St., Hagerstown. The Rev. Russell E. Huffman will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.
Visitation will be today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Charles L. Jenkins
Charles L. "Tootie" Jenkins, 74, of 109 Devonshire Road, Hagerstown, died Friday, Dec. 31, 1999 at his home.
Born March 29, 1925, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Charles A. and Myrtle V. Long Jenkins.
He was a graduate of Hagerstown High School.
He retired from M.P. Mollers as a foreman.
He served in the Army and was a medical technician with Company A, 263rd Medical Battalion.
He was a 50-year member of Grace United Methodist Church, where he was a former president of Friendship Men's Club.
He was a member of YMCA Band and was president of the West End Athletic Club.
He is survived by his wife, Anna M. Pennesi Jenkins, whom he married
Dec. 8, 1946; three daughters, Cheryl A. Kataline, Carol L. Hose and Charlene K. Gearhart, all of Hagerstown; three grandchildren; two step-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a half-sister, Doris Cowden.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Grace United Methodist Church, corner of Church and Winter streets. The Rev. Robert S. Barton, assisted by the Rev. Thomas Young, will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.
Visitation will be today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac St., Hagerstown.

Maurice S. Pryor
BOONSBORO - Maurice S. Pryor, 84, a resident of Fahrney-Keedy Home, died Friday, Dec. 31, 1999, at the home.
Born Feb. 18, 1915, in Wolfsville, Md., he was the son of the late Theophilus and Rosa Kline Pryor.
He retired from Doubleday and Co. in Smithsburg in 1979. He also had been a farmer. At the time of his death, he was vice president of Pryor Mechanical Inc. in Myersville, Md.
He was a life member of Grossnickle Church of the Brethren.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Edna Grossnickle Pryor; three daughters, Jane Wolfe and Barbara Leiboldt, both of Smithsburg, and Joyce Parker of Front Royal, Va.; two sons, Richard Pryor of Smithsburg and Gary Pryor of Middletown, Md.; a sister, Ruth Kline of Smithsburg; a brother, Albert Pryor of Boonsboro; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Grossnickle Church of the Brethren, 11318 Meeting House Road, Myersville. Pastors Tim and Donna Ritchey Martin will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Ricketts Funeral Home, 504 Main St., Myersville.

Lester L. Myers III
Lester Leroy "Sonny" Myers III, 53, of 1115 Glenside Ave., Hagerstown, died Thursday, Dec. 30, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Dec. 27, 1946, in Hagerstown, he was the son of Lester Leroy Myers Jr. and Doris Warner Myers of Hagerstown.
He was employed by Mack Trucks and Hub Labels.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Emma Jean Myers; three daughters, Janet Piper, Julie Colvin, and Joni Elliott, all of Hagerstown; one son, Lester Leroy Myers IV of Hagerstown; two sisters, Dottie Dean of Middletown, Md. and Delores Kibler of Hagerstown; one brother, Larry Myers of Hagerstown; and five grandchildren.
Services will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Scott Mulhollen will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m.
Myrle E. Henson
Myrle E. Henson, 66, of 945 Mount Aetna Road, Hagerstown, who died Sunday, Dec. 26, 1999, also is survived by a daughter, Colleen Henson of Hagerstown.
Martin E. Wempe
Martin Edward "Eddie" Wempe, 79, of 911 Frederick St., Hagerstown, who died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 1999, retired in 1981 from Fairchild Aircraft with 33 years of service. He was assistant controller.
Mary E. Holland
BRUNSWICK, Md. - Mary Evelyn Holland, 67, of 1100 Peach Orchard Lane, died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 1999, at Johns Hopkins University Hospital in Baltimore.
Born Nov. 19, 1932, in Brunswick, she was the daughter of the late William Ernest and Lottie Ellen Hardy Onley.
She retired as a senior analyst for the National Geographic Society in Gaithersburg, Md.
She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Brunswick.
She is survived by three daughters, Faye H. Williams of Brunswick, Evelyn B. Williams and Rhonda M. Holland, both of Frederick, Md.; one son, Louis Q. Holland Jr. of Frederick; one sister, Earnestine E. Harris of Brunswick; one brother, William James Onley of Brunswick; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Dana R. Holland; three sisters, L. Virginia Christenson, L. Geneva Young and A. Christine Bowins; six brothers, Raymond H. Onley, Arthur E. Onley, George A. Onley, Stanley M. Onley, Clarence B. Onley and John Edward Onley; and one grandson.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Petersville, Md., with the Rev. Lawrence J. Gesy as celebrant. Burial will be in Fairview cemetery in Frederick.
The family will receive friends at John T. Williams Funeral Home, 100 Petersville Road, Brunswick, Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m., with a Christian Wake Service at 8 p.m. The funeral home will be open Tuesday from 9 a.m.
