June A. Greene
June Angela Greene, 73, of 729 Maryland Ave., Hagerstown, died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 1999, at Clearview Nursing Home in Hagerstown.
Born June 23, 1926, in Westminster, Md., she was the daughter of the late Raymond N. and Emma Dulany Fowler.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl L. Greene, on Oct. 23, 1999.
She retired from Sears, Roebuck and Co.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
She was a member of American Legion Funkstown Post 211 Auxiliary.
She is survived by a daughter, Gail T. Starliper of Hagerstown; a son, Gary E. Greene of Hagerstown; two sisters, Dorothy Long of St. Port Lucie, Fla., and Rosalie Tears of Hilton, N.Y.; four brothers, Charles Fowler of Westminster, Raymond Fowler of Littlestown, Pa., Herbert Fowler of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Noah Fowler of Cocoa, Fla.; a grandson; a great-grandson; nieces; nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 226 W. Washington St. in Hagerstown. The Rev. Jack Fullen will be celebrant. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd. in Hagerstown.

William L. Arnicar
GAPLAND, Md. - William Louis Arnicar, 53, of 20716 Townsend Road, died Thursday, Dec. 30, 1999, at his home.
Born May 31, 1946, in Fremantle, West Australia, he was the son of William Lewis and Maureen W. Fitzpatrick Arnicar of San Antonio.
He received his associate of science degree from El Paso Community College, El Paso, Texas.
He was employed by Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore as a radiologic technologist.
He was a Catholic.
He was a member of A.R.R.T.; and Maryland Association of Radiologic Technologists.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife of 31 years, Diane Tatroult Arnicar; three sons, William L.F. Arnicar of Keedysville, Eric L. Arnicar of Stewartstown, Pa., and Richard B. Arnicar aboard the U.S.S. Trenton; a sister, Annette J. Young of Burkittsville, Md.; an adopted sister, Ann Marie Arnicar of San Antonio; an adopted brother, John R. Arnicar of El Paso; and four grandchildren.
A memorial service will be announced later.
There will be no viewing or visitation.

Wanda L. Hughes
ALBERT LEA, Minn. - Wanda Lea Hughes, 69, of Albert Lea, died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 1999, at Albert Lea Medical Center.
Born April 6, 1930, in Harrison, Mo., she was the daughter of N. Frances Ervin Butler of Albert Lea and the late Alfred J. Butler.
She graduated from Boone High School; and attended two years of college in Ames, Iowa.
She worked at Bobbi Brooks Store; and at Iowa State University in Ames.
She was a member of REACT and American Legion Auxiliary. She also volunteered for several organizations.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Robert O. Hughes, whom she married
April 14, 1951; two daughters, Mary Bryan of Boonsboro and Linda Foyte of Faribault, Minn.; two sons, Robert Hughes of Albert Lea and David Hughes of Phoenix; a brother, Jerry Butler of Waterloo, Iowa; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; aunts; uncles; nieces; nephews and cousins.
Services will be Sunday at 3 p.m., at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home in Albert Lea. The Rev. Jon Henriksen will officiate.
Burial will be Monday at 1:30 p.m. at Lynwood Park cemetery in Boone, Iowa.
Visitation will be Sunday at 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Donald L. Shupp
WILLIAMSPORT - Donald Lee "Sam" Shupp, 72, of 14724 Clear Spring Road, died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
Born May 25, 1927, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Clayton Christian and Nora Edith Mowen Shupp.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy Jean Shupp, in 1997.
He was employed by Statton Furniture, retiring in 1992.
He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Clear Spring.
He is survived by his second wife, Mary Catherine Kelley Long Shupp; a son, Terry L. Shupp of Greencastle, Pa.; four stepsons, Robert E. Long, Marlin O. Long and Samuel R. Long, all of Hagerstown, and Charles H. Long Jr. of Clear Spring; a sister, Ruth Shupp of Clear Spring; three brothers, Clyde Shupp of Clear Spring, William Shupp of Hagerstown and Robert Shupp of St. Thomas, Pa.; a grandson; and seven step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Catherine Ankeney; and three brothers, Hillard Shupp, Preston Shupp and Eugene Shupp.
Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St. in Williamsport. The Rev. C. Andrew Carr will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill cemetery in Clear Spring.
Friends may call today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home, which will be open after 10 a.m.

Ruth E. Caddie
WESTON, Fla. - A Mass of Christian Burial for Ruth E. "Peggy" Caddie, 71, of Weston, who died Thursday, Dec. 16, 1999, will be celebrated Monday at 11 a.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Hancock.
Private burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.

BOONSBORO - Louise S. Sutter, 94, of 8507 Mapleville Road, died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 1999, at Fahrney-Keedy Memorial Home.
Born June 22, 1905, in Frederick, Md., she was the daughter of the late John H. and Oda L. Shipley Sutter.
She owned and operated a beauty shop on West Washington Street in Hagerstown.
She was a member of Hagerstown Presbyterian Church.
She was a member of DAR; and Zonta Club.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac St. in Hagerstown. The Rev. John W. Ailstock will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
Frieda B. Coates
EASTON, Md. - Frieda Bosse Coates, 95, of Easton, and formerly of St. Mary's County, Md., and Wisconsin, died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 1999, at William Hill Manor in Easton.
Born Sept. 19, 1904, in Wisconsin, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Emma Ruckebrunt Bosse.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alan Coates, in 1997.
She attended high school in Wisconsin.
She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Easton.
She is survived by a daughter, Evelyn C. Corbin of Easton; a son, the Rev. A. Bernard Coates of Royal Oak, Md., and formerly of Hagerstown; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church in Easton. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park in Easton.
