Violet B. Frisenda
WILLIAMSPORT - Violet B. Matson Tantillo Frisenda, 89, of Williamsport, and formerly of Joppatowne, Md., and Old Bethpage, Long Island, N.Y., died Monday, Dec. 20, 1999, at Williamsport Nursing Home.
Born Dec. 12, 1910, in Brooklyn, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Martin and Mary Carswell Matson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alexander J. Frisenda, in 1987.
Until her retirement, she was employed as a credit office manager for the New York offices of Alcoa.
She is survived by a sister, Marie Gillespie of Redbank, N.J.; two grandsons, Robert V. Tantillo of Hagerstown and Thomas P. Tantillo of Brisbane, Calif.; and two great-granddaughters.
She was preceded in death by a son, Vincent Tantillo.
A private graveside service will be held at Rest Haven Cemetery. The Rev. Alfred E. Smith will officiate.
There will be no viewing.
Arrangements are by Minnich Funeral Home in Hagerstown.
Richard F. Mills
CLEAR SPRING - Richard Franklin Mills, 59, of 11 Cumberland St., died Monday, Dec. 20, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Feb. 27, 1940, in Clear Spring, he was the son of the late Raymond Richard and Charlotte Repp Mills.
He was a construction worker.
He was a Protestant.
He is survived by his companion, Sondra E. Johnson; a daughter, Tammy S. Mills of Hagerstown; a son, Curtis L. Mills of Martinsburg, W.Va.; a sister, Saundra Murray of Hagerstown; three brothers, David T. Mills of Hagerstown, Douglas Mills of Biloxi, Miss., and Amos Mills of Clear Spring; and two grandchildren.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Donald E. Thompson Funeral Home, 13607 National Pike, Clear Spring. The Rev. Robert E. Timmons will officiate. Burial will be in Little Rose Hill cemetery in Clear Spring.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Eric M. Wagshal
Dr. Eric M. Wagshal, of Hagerstown, died Tuesday, Dec. 21, 1999.
He was the son of Ben and Lillian Wagshal.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon Wagshal; three children, Steven, Julie and Amy; two brothers, Marc Wagshal and Alan Wagshal; nieces and nephews.
Services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at B'nai Israel Congregation, 6301 Montrose Road, Rockville, Md. Burial will be in Judean Memorial Gardens in Olney, Md.
The family will observe Shiva through Friday morning at the residence of Marc and Merna Wagshal; and Saturday evening through Monday evening at his late residence.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute, Kidney Cancer Research, c/o NIH, 31 Center Drive, MSC 2486, Bethesda, MD 20892-2486.

Gladys B. Needy
BOONSBORO - Gladys Beard Needy, 85, of 423 N. Main St., died Sunday, Dec. 19, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Dec. 9, 1914, in State Line, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Robert Lee and Urilla A. Gossard Beard.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles A. Needy, on Sept. 15, 1991.
She owned and operated the Boone Hotel in Boonsboro from 1940 to 1965.
She was a member of Mount Nebo United Methodist Church.
She was a member of Ladies Auxiliary of Boonsboro American Legion Clopper Michael Post 10.
She is survived by two daughters, June E. Keyes of Hagerstown and Roberta A. Long of Mims, Fla.; a stepdaughter, Jean Raulerson of Miami; a stepson, Robert Kerns of Cicero, N.Y.; a granddaughter; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by eight sisters, four brothers and a granddaughter.
Memorial services will be held Tuesday, Dec. 28, at 3 p.m. at Bast Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro. The Rev. Ron Kurtz will officiate. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
There will be no viewing; however, the family will receive friends one hour prior to the services.

Mildred M. Clingan
Mildred M. Clingan, 80, of 1183 Luther Drive, and formerly of 55 E. Washington St., died Saturday, Dec. 18, 1999, at Ravenwood Lutheran Village.
Born Dec. 23, 1918, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Edgar Harold and Mary Elizabeth Landers Jones.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Nevin James Clingan, in 1955.
She was a retired employee of McCrory's.
She was a member of Hagerstown Church of the Brethren.
She is survived by a sister, Maxine E. Trace, of Williamsport; three brothers, Edgar E. Jones of Boonsboro, and Ellis M. Jones and Harold Jones, both of Hagerstown; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Lena Johnston; and a brother, Wilbur L. Allen.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, 40 E. Antietam St., Hagerstown. The Rev. Dean M. Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.

Annabelle L. Merryman
Annabelle Louise Deener Merryman, 92, of Julia Manor Nursing Home in Hagerstown, and formerly of Brownsville, Md., died Sunday, Dec. 19, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Dec. 11, 1907, in Harpers Ferry, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Charles W. and Lula Snyder Staubs.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Albert McKinley Deener.
She was retired from Fairchild Aircraft in Hagerstown.
She was a member of Brownsville Church of the Brethren.
She was a member of Brunswick Eagles Aerie 1136 Ladies Auxiliary; and a former volunteer at Reeders Memorial Home in Boonsboro.
She is survived by a sister, Minno Jones of Bolivar, W.Va.; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Ralph Deener and Charles Newton Deener; and 11 sisters and brothers.
Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Bast Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro. The Rev. Carol B. Strickler will officiate. Burial will be in Old Brownsville Cemetery.
