RETHA O. HUMBERSON
Retha Oleda Humberson, 82, Bruceton Mills, W.Va., died Friday, Jan. 11, 2002, at Heartland of Preston County, Kingwood, W.Va.
Born May 12, 1919, in Friendsville, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Carrie (Fike) Wakefield.
She was a homemaker and member of Webb Chapel United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her husband, Arnold James Humberson; four sons, Claude Humberson, Brunswick, Ohio, Ward Humberson, Bruceton Mills, Melvin Humberson, Friendsville, and Larry Humberson, Copley, Ohio; two daughters, Frances Enos, Curwensville, Pa., and Retha Mae Dymond, Beaver, Pa.; one brother, Walter Wakefield Jr., Westminster; one sister, Loveda Evans, Bruceton Mills; 14 grandchildren; and 28 greatgrandchildren.
Friends were received at the Newman Funeral Home, Friendsville, where a service was conducted on Monday, Jan. 14, with the Rev. Robert Milliren officiating.
Interment was in Blooming Rose Cemetery.
WILLIAM R. JONES
William R. Jones, 79, Oakland, died Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2002, at the Cuppett & Weeks Nursing Home, Oakland.
Born Aug. 23, 1922, in Harford County, he was a son of the late Columbus M. and Sudie (Woods) Jones.
He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Friends will be received at the Stewart Funeral Home, Oakland, on Friday, Jan. 18, from 1 to 2 p.m. A service will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 2 p.m.
Interment will be in the Oakland Cemetery.
WARD K. LIVENGOOD
Ward Kenneth Livengood, 84, Friendsville, died Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2002, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland.
Born July 5, 1917, in Cherry Grove, W.Va., he was a son of the late Samuel Wilbert and Aletha Maude (Smith) Livengood. He was also preceded in death by five brothers, Dewey, Sherman, Ralph, Ray, and Fred Livengood; and two sisters, Mille Herring and Thelda Frazee.
He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Friendsville. A United States Army/Air Corps veteran of World War II in the Pacific Theatre, he was a member of Friendsville VFW Post #8769. He was a member of Friendsville Rotary Club and Chestnut Ridge Antique Car Club, and was a former mayor and member of the town council of Friendsville. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service after serving for 16 years as the postmaster in Friendsville. At Grace Lutheran Church, he served on the church council, as past superintendent and teacher of Sunday school, member of the church choir, and a lector.
Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Edna "Dolly" (Swauger) Livengood; three sons, David W. Livengood and Norman V. Livengood, both of Friendsville, and Phillip J. Livengood, Palm Harbor, Fla.; one sister, Ruby Rodeheaver, Mountain Dale, W.Va.; six grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
Friends were received at the Newman Funeral Home, Friendsville. A service was conducted at Grace Lutheran Church on Saturday, Jan. 12, with the Rev. Roland E. Nairn III officiating.
Interment was in Blooming Rose Cemetery.
Military graveside rites were accorded by area veterans' service organizations.
MABEL B. MARTIN
Mabel B. "Nanny" Martin, 89, Lake Wales, Fla., formerly of Mtn. Lake Park, died Friday, Jan. 11, 2002, at the Lake Wales Medical Center, Lake Wales.
Born Jan. 2, 1913, in Garrett County, she was a daughter of the late Lee M. Bernard and Nellie (Lantz) Bernard. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Earl F. Martin Sr., in 1983.
She attended the First Assembly of God Church, Lake Wales.
Surviving are two sons, Arthur Lee Miller and Earl F. Martin Jr., both of Lake Wales; one brother, Lee Bernard, Mtn. Lake Park; two sisters, Nina Callis, Deer Park, and Eloise Welling, Mtn. Lake Park; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Friends were received at the Durst Funeral Home, Oakland, where a service was conducted on Monday, Jan. 14, with the Rev. David Martin officiating.
Interment was in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
FLORENCE C. ROHRBAUGH
Florence C. Rohrbaugh, Oakland, died Saturday, Jan. 12, 2002, at Garrett County Memorial Hospital, Oakland.
Born in Oakmont, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late James and Elizabeth (Sloan) Lancaster Sr.
She is survived by her husband, Charles R. Rohrbaugh; and one brother, James Lancaster Jr.
Friends were received at the Stewart Funeral Home, Oakland, where a service was conducted on Tuesday, Jan. 15, with the Rev. Jake Paugh officiating.
Interment was in the Nethken Hill Cemetery, Elk Garden, W.Va.
EILEEN R. TEETS
Eileen R. Teets, 81, Aurora, W.Va., died Friday, Jan. 11, 2002, at Garrett County Memorial Hospital, Oakland.
Born April 25, 1920, in Brookside, she was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Squire Lantz.
She is survived by her husband, Fred J. Teets.
Friends were received at the Aurora Memorial Building. A service was held at the Aurora United Methodist Church on Monday, Jan. 14, with the Rev. Mary Conley officiating.
Interment was in the Aurora Cemetery.
The Stewart Funeral Home, Oakland, was in charge of arrangements.
HULDAH JOY WHITE
Huldah Joy White, Oakland, peacefully entered into the arms of God on Sunday, Jan. 13, 2002.
Joy was born on Dec. 19, 1943, in Crellin. She passed from this life at the Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, W.Va., on Jan. 13, 2002, following an extended period of illness.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Anna Lee; brother, Harry; and sister, Laura.
As the baby of her family, Joy is survived by brother George; and sisters Norma, Leatrice, Marion, Phyllis, and Sandra.
Joy was the cherished mother of Amy White, Lori White, David Tressler, and Tami Rosage. Her children's lives were lovingly touched by her selfless example and gentle spirit.
Daughter-in-law Sandra Tressler, together with son-on-law Bernie Rosage Jr., sadly grieve the passing of this special woman.
Grandma White shared her life with grandchildren Lyndsey, Whitney, D.J., Kyle, Dylan, Nevin, Anna, Hanna, Olivia, and great-grandson Christian. Their young lives will be forever imprinted by their Grandma White's priceless influence.
Joy donated her body to the Human Gift Registry of West Virginia University Medical College.
A memorial service was held in remembrance and celebration of her life on Monday, Jan. 14, at the Loch Lynn Church of God. Our comfort is in knowing that peace is hers, and that we will see our precious Joy again.
Due to Joy's passion for books and reading, the family requests that memorial contributions be directed to the Ruth Enlow Library, Oakland.
JOHN W. WISOR
John Wesley Wisor, 73, Accident, died Friday, Jan. 11, 2002, at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va.
Born Jan. 10, 1929, in Woodland, Pa., he was the son of the late Karl Wesley and Ora (Mullen) Wisor. He was also preceded in death by four sisters, Elaine Warren, Rachel Smeal, Mary Kay Livingston, and Josephine Bell.
He was retired as a supervisor at Harbison-Walker Refractories, Grantsville. He was a member of Bear Creek Church of the Brethren, Accident.
Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Mary Jane (Shimmel) Wisor; one son, John Wisor, Glenwood; two daughters, Lou Ann Sines, Friendsville, and Brenda Jeanne Sebold, McHenry; one sister, Jeanne Neal, Newmillport, Pa.; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Friends were received at the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville. A service was held on Saturday, Jan. 19, at the Bear Creek Church of the Brethren, with the Rev. Thomas Wegman officiating.

MILDRED E. WEAVER
Mildred E. Weaver, 86, Oakland, died Friday, Nov. 15, 2002, at her home.
Born Oct. 28, 1916, in Bellevue, Pa., she was the daughter of the late William J. and Amelia L. (Roessle) Griffith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Quay L. "Jerry" Weaver, in 1990.
She was a retired beautician.
She is survived by one daughter, E. Louise Stuart, Delray Beach, Fla.
At her request, her body was cremated. There will be no viewing or service.
The Stewart Funeral Home, Oakland, is in charge of arrangements.

GEORGIA C. MIZE
Georgia Connetta Mize, 82, Mtn. Lake Park, formerly of Danville, Va., died Saturday, Nov. 16, 2002, at the Cherry Hill Assisted Living Home, Accident.
Born May 27, 1920, in Mayodan, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Joe Richard Gentry and Hallie (Creakman) Gentry. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Russell J. Mize, in 1987.
She was retired from the U.S. Postal Service.
Surviving are two daughters, Hallie S. Snyder, Oakland, and Rebecca M. Sasser, Callands, Va.; one son, Russell J. Mize Jr., Leesburg, Va.; six grandchildren; and a number of great- and great-great-grandchildren.
Friends were received at the Durst Funeral Home, Oakland, and at the Swicegood Funeral Home, Danville.
A service was held at the Swicegood Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, Nov. 20, with the Rev. Dr. J. Leroy Clack and Rev. John R. Jones officiating.
Interment was in the Moss Family Cemetery, Danville.

MARY HOWDERSHELT
Mary "Honey" Howdershelt, 70, Arthurdale, W.Va., died Saturday, Nov. 16, 2002, at Preston Memorial Hospital.
Born July 6, 1932, in Rowlesburg, W.Va., she was a daughter of the late Robert and Rosella (Polly) Hartsell Goff. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. Howdershelt.
She was employed as a clerk for the Alcoholic Beverage Commission Stores, and was a nursing assistant at Hopemont and Preston Memorial hospitals. She and her husband owned and operated the Cheat Aqua Truck Stop. She was a member of the Rowlesburg Southern Baptist Church.
She is survived by two sons, Charles R. Howdershelt, Oakland, and Gary Howdershelt, Reedsville, W.Va.; three brothers, Robert Goff Jr., Richard Goff, and Terry Goff, all of Rowlesburg; two sisters, Patricia Likins and Judy Likins, Rowlesburg; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Friends were received at the Browning Funeral Home, Rowlesburg, where a service was held on Tuesday, Nov. 19, with the Rev. Ken Lake officiating.
Interment was in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Lantz Ridge.
RUSSELL L. TEETS
Russell Lee Teets, 78, Accident, died Friday, Nov. 15, 2002, at Monongalia General Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va.
Born Aug. 21, 1924, in McHenry, he was the son of the late Samuel and Susie (Brant) Teets.
He was a farmer, and a retired Sire Power technician. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II; a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Bittinger, where he formerly served as a councilman; and a member of the American Legion Post 214, Garrett County Farm Bureau, and WOW Camp, Bittinger.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy J. (Buckel) Teets, Accident; three daughters, Vicki Teets, McHenry, Nancy Garlitz, Accident, and Judy Simpson, Oakland; and six grandchildren.
Friends were received at the Newman Funeral Home, McHenry, where a service was held Tuesday, Nov. 19, with Pastor Patricia Pittsnogle officiating.
Interment was in the Bittinger Cemetery.

BENNIE T. POOK
Bennie T. Pook, 84, York, Pa., formerly of Friendsville, died Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2002, at Manor Care North, York.
Born March 27, 1918, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Harry and Alice (Leshinska) Pook.
He was a retired manager/bookkeeper with Tableland Milk Producers, Oakland. He attended Friendsville United Methodist Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and was a member of the VFW Oakland Post.
Surviving are his wife, Betty T. Pook, York; one son, Bennie D. Pook, York; and one sister, Julia Klima, Pittsburgh.
Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Home, Friendsville, Friday, Nov. 22, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
A service will be conducted at the Friendsville United Methodist Church on Saturday at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Robert Milliren officiating. The body will be taken to the church at 1 p.m.
Interment will be in the Sand Spring Cemetery, Friendsville.
