Dora M. Bonebrake
Dora Mae Bonebrake, 85, of 627 Chestnut St., Hagerstown, died Thursday, Dec. 9, 1999, at her home.
Born Sept. 30, 1914, in Funkstown, she was the daughter of the late Mae Emma Martz Hudson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard R. Bonebrake, in 1996.
She was previously employed by Hagerstown Leather Co. in Hagerstown.
She was a member of First Christian Church in Hagerstown.
She was a member of the Auto Racing Club of Hagerstown.
She is survived by a son, Dennis L. Bonebrake of Hagerstown, and three grandchildren, Dennis Wesley Bonebrake and Christina Suzanne Bonebrake, both of Hagerstown, and Robert Lee Harshman Jr. of Myrtle Beach, S.C.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley Leatherman; a sister, Charlene Hudson; and two brothers, Ed Fleming and Robert Fleming.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd. in Hagerstown. The Rev. Fred M. Harris will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill cemetery in Hagerstown.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Marshall W. Winters Jr.
FAIRPLAY - Marshall William Winters Jr., 60, of 8019 Sharpsburg Pike, died Friday, Dec. 10, 1999, at the University of Maryland Hospital in Baltimore.
Born June 1, 1939, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Marshall W. and Minnie Viola Bishop Winters Sr.
He was a member of Red Men Conococheague Tribe 84 of Williamsport, and Eagles of Hagerstown.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon Marie Winters; two sons, Gary Winters of Maine and Kenny Winters of Hagerstown; five sisters, Bonnie Jolly of Walder, Colo., and Betty Murray, Minnie Hornbaker, Elaine Winegardner and Sandra Mills, all of Hagerstown; a brother, Victor Winters of Westminster, Colo.; seven grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Embly.
Services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd. in Hagerstown. The Rev. Louis L. Emerick will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Etta DeHart
SMITHSBURG - Etta DeHart, 67, of 1 W. Douglas Court, died Thursday, Dec. 9, 1999, from injuries received in an automobile accident.
Born Sept. 30, 1932, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late David Jesse and Mary Ruth Trumpower Martin.
She was employed by Wal-Mart in Hagerstown.
She was of the Catholic faith.
She is survived by her husband, Z.T. Bob DeHart; two daughters, Amy L. Scadden of Smithsburg and Donna Sue Durning of Hagerstown; two sons, Conway G. Sterling and Steven L. Sterling, both of Hagerstown; four sisters, Pearl Repp of Clear Spring, and Louise Renner, Luella Miller and Vivian Hoile, all of Hagerstown; four brothers, Daniel Martin of Taneytown, Md., David Joseph Martin of Boonsboro, Gene Martin of Hagerstown and Ray Martin of Waynesboro, Pa.; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Salome Decuter, and a brother, Kenneth Martin.
Services will be Monday at 10 a.m. at Davis Funeral Home in Smithsburg. Father George A. Limmer will officiate. Burial will be in Smithsburg Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Lovetta L. Hook
Lovetta L. Hook, 71, of Rock Hill Road, Hagerstown, died Thursday, Dec. 9, 1999, at her home.
Born Dec. 10, 1927, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Earl J. and Irene I. Zentmyer Hann.
She had been co-owner of Hook's Self-Service Market on Virginia Avenue.
She was a Protestant.
She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star of Hagerstown Chapter 89; Past Matrons and Past Patrons 89; Daughter of the Nile Retemple 118, Tri State Club; and Ladies of the Elks of Hagerstown 378.
She is survived by her husband, Carl Hook Jr.; a son, Carl Bittle Hook; and a grandson, Carl Brian Hook.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Marcella C. Harp.
A memorial service will be held at Green Lawn Memorial Park in Williamsport at the convenience of the family. Order of the Eastern Star of Hagerstown Chapter 89 will conduct the services.

Harold E. Shafer
MIDDLETOWN, Md. - Harold Eugene Shafer, 73, of Middletown, died Wednesday, Dec. 8, 1999, at Frederick Memorial Hospital.
Born Sept. 17, 1926, in Middletown, he was the son of the late Oscar L. Sr. and Maetta R. Engle Shafer.
He worked as an automobile mechanic at Reed Motor Co. and at Model Garage. He later owned and managed an Exxon station in Frederick, Md.; and owned and operated Harold's Servicenter until his retirement. He worked part-time at Myersville Sunoco.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred R. Kinna Shafer, whom he married
Sept. 11, 1948; a daughter, Diane R. Shafer of Seabrook, Md.; a son, Donald E. Shafer of Middletown; a sister, Rosalyn Loughran of Stuart, Fla.; a brother, Oscar L. Shafer of Middletown; two stepsisters, Judith E. Kraushaar and Candy R. Inman, both of West Virginia; a stepbrother, John S. Shafer of Middletown; two granddaughters; and a great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth L. Shafer.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, 107 W. Main St., Middletown. Pastor Turley will officiate. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery.
The family will receive friends today from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Donald B. Thompson Funeral Home, 31 E. Main St., Middletown.

Raymond S. Rife Jr.
BRUNSWICK, Md. - Raymond Samuel Rife Jr., 69, of 504 East "K" St., died Tuesday, Dec. 8, 1999, at Loudoun County Hospital in Leesburg, Va.
Born Oct. 30, 1930, in Takoma Park, Md., he was the son of N. Mildred Haugh of Takoma Park and the late Raymond S. Rife Sr.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris D. Ambrose Rife, in 1992.
He retired from Eastalco Aluminum Co. of Frederick, Md.
A veteran of the Vietnam War, he served in the U.S. Air Force.
He was a member of New York Hill United Methodist Church in Brunswick.
He was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 1136 of Brunswick; Moose Club of Charles Town, W.Va. He bowled in a league in Frederick.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by three children, Raymond Samuel Rife III and Mark Allen Rife, both of Brunswick, and Deborah Gayle Maas of Big Pool, Md.; a sister, Nancy Oliver of Chevy Chase, Md.; three grandchildren; nieces; nephews; cousins and his companion, Betty Goliday of Brunswick.
He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Milton Haugh.
A memorial service will be Saturday at 12:30 p.m. at Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St. in Frederick. The Rev. James R. Hamrick will officiate.
Private burial will be at the convenience of the family.
