Anna B. Selby
BRUNSWICK, Md. - Anna Belle Selby, 69, of 715 East "B" St., died Thursday, Dec. 9, 1999, at her home.
Born Aug. 31, 1930, in Brunswick, she was the daughter of the late John Dayton and Glennie Viola Tederick Hite.
She retired as a clerk from New York Hill Grocery in Brunswick.
She was a member of New York Hill United Methodist Church in Brunswick.
She is survived by her husband, Homer E. Selby; a sister, Betty Fraley of Brunswick; a brother, Max B. Hite of Frederick; nieces and nephews, including nephew Mark V. Stephenson of Brunswick, whom she raised.
She was preceded in death by sisters and brothers.
Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at John T. Williams Funeral Home, 100 Petersville Road in Brunswick. The Rev. Clark D. Carr will officiate. Burial will be in Park Heights cemetery in Brunswick.
The family will receive friends today from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home, which will be open from 9 a.m.

James E. Hurd
FREDERICK, Md. - James Edgar Hurd, 71, of Frederick, and formerly of Hagerstown, died Thursday, Dec. 9, 1999, at Frederick Memorial Hospital.
Born Feb. 2, 1928, in Chambersburg, Pa., he was the son of the late Roy E. and Ada Gorman Hurd.
He owned and operated a painting and construction business, both in Hagerstown and Frederick.
He attended Church of the Nazarene.
He was a member of Williamsport Red Men, Conococheague Tribe 84.
He is survived by his wife, Alice M. Hurd; two daughters, Jamie Walter of Kennebunk, Maine, and Jody Price of Germantown, Md.; four grandchildren; and a niece.
He was preceded in death by five sisters, Eveline Stitley, Mary Remsburg, Stella Carson, Violet Benner and Virginia Hurd; and a brother, Robert Hurd.
Services will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Ben Spitler will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill cemetery in Hagerstown.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m.; and Monday at noon at the funeral home.
Darlene M. Owens
Darlene M. Owens, 51, of Hagerstown, died Monday, Dec. 6, 1999, at her home.
Born Nov. 5, 1948, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of Geraldine Chinn and Joseph McQuade of Baltimore.
She also is survived by her husband, Jesse J. Owens Sr. of Baltimore; one daughter, Jaime Owens of Baltimore; one son, Jesse Owens Jr. of Hagerstown; two stepdaughters, Sharon Molina and Renee Sotelo, both of Baltimore; two sisters, Diane Comstock and Tara Dorn, both of Baltimore; and four grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown.

Marietta Rowe
CLEAR SPRING - Marietta Rowe, 78, of 14108 St. Paul Road, died Wednesday, Dec. 8, 1999, at Williamsport Nursing Home in Williamsport.
Born Sept. 11, 1921, in Clear Spring, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Goodrick and Nellie Matilda Sword Frush.
She was a graduate of Clear Spring High School; and Columbia Business College.
She was employed by Columbia Gas of Maryland.
She was a life member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Clear Spring; was on the Council and was treasurer for the Joint Parish.
She is survived by a sister, Doris Seibert of Clear Spring.
Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Clear Spring. The Rev. Mary L. Amundson will officiate. Burial will be in St. Paul's Cemetery.
It was her request that there be no viewing.
The family requests the omission of flowers.

Catherine R. Wolfe
WOLFSVILLE, Md. - Catherine Rae "Cathy" Wolfe, 59, of Brandenburg Hollow Road, died Monday, Dec. 6, 1999, in Wheeling, W.Va.
Born July 7, 1940, in Wolfsville, she was the daughter of Rosa Catherine Kuhn Kline of Wolfsville and the late Alvey George Kline.
She was a homemaker and a caregiver for the elderly.
She was a member of Salem United Methodist Church in Wolfsville, and was custodian.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Rodney V. Wolfe Sr.; three sons, Richard Lee Wolfe and Rodney V. Wolfe Jr., both of Wolfsville, and Michael Lynn Wolfe of Hedgesville, W.Va.; a sister, Pauline Doyle of Wolfsville; two brothers, Richard Kline and Alvey Kline, both of Wolfsville; three grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Guy Kline.
A memorial service will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Salem United Methodist Church in Wolfsville. The Rev. Randall Reid will officiate.
The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Ricketts Funeral Home, 504 Main St., Myersville.

Mary E. Norris
Mary E. Norris, 67, of Hagerstown, died Tuesday, Dec. 7, 1999, at Reeders Memorial Home in Boonsboro.
Born April 17, 1932, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Charles William and Martha Jane Hayes Norris.
She was a homemaker.
She was of the Pentecostal faith.
She is survived by a daughter, Tawanna Sue Fisher of Keedysville, with whom she lived; a son, Ralph Elmer Metzer of Hagerstown; three brothers, Mitchell Norris of Seffner, Fla., Elwood Norris of Tampa, Fla., and Jesse Norris of Grand Ledge, Mich.; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Janie Norris; five brothers, Marshall Norris, Cecil Norris, Alford Norris, Daniel Norris and Donald Norris; and her companion, John Kline.
Services will be Friday at 10 a.m. at Ricketts Funeral Home, 504 Main St., in Myersville, Md. Pastor Ben Thompson will officiate. Burial will be in Harmony Community cemetery in Harmony, Md.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Wilburn E. Rhoton
WILLIAMSPORT - Wilburn Essie Rhoton, 71, of 15336 Clear Spring Road, died Tuesday, Dec. 7, 1999, at his home.
Born Nov. 25, 1928, in Leesburg, Va., he was the son of the late Jeremiah Marr and Ruby Lee Marcum Rhoton.
He was a farmer; and worked with his son at his business, S. L. Rhoton Trucking.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He was a Protestant.
He was a member of Conococheague Tribe 84 IORed Men of Williamsport; Potomac Post 202 American Legion of Williamsport; and Williamsport Moose Lodge.
He is survived by a son, Steven L. Rhoton of Williamsport; a sister, Virginia Wolfe of Hagerstown; a brother, Norman L. Rhoton of Okala, Fla.; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Herman L. Rhoton.
A graveside service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 127 Britner Ave. in Williamsport. The Rev. James E. Swecker will officiate.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport. The funeral home will be open today after 11 a.m.
