John R. Perrott
John R. Perrott, 87, of 1041 Benjamin Place, Hagerstown, died Wednesday, Dec. 7, 1999, at Western Maryland Center in Hagerstown.
Born Oct. 28, 1912, in Washington County, he was the son of the late Jacob and Effie Bartles Perrott.
He was employed by Pangborn Corp., retiring in 1964.
He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Edna Garnetta Perrott; one daughter, JoAnn Litten of Hagerstown; one son, John R. Perrott of Clear Spring; three sisters, Laura Mills of Taneytown, Md., Maude Mundey and Eleanor Beard, both of Hagerstown; one brother, Robert Perrott of Hagerstown; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Hazel Smith; and three brothers, Alexander Perrott, Martin Perrott and Wilbur Perrott.
Services will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Robert S. Barton will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m.
Pauline A. Yeargan
Pauline A. Yeargan, 69, of Hagerstown, and formerly of Cumberland, Md., died Monday, Dec. 6, 1999, at her home.
Born July 9, 1930, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Helen Hogan Mantheiy.
She was a 1948 graduate of St. Mary's High School.
A registered nurse, she retired from Ravenwood Nursing Home.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hagerstown.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas J. Yeargan; two daughters, Gail L. Yeargan and Mary L. Yeargan, both of Hagerstown; five sons, Thomas L. Yeargan and Gregory H. Yeargan, both of Clear Spring, Paul L. Yeargan of Hagerstown, Raymond L. Yeargan of Waynesboro, Pa., and Frederick L. Yeargan of Fairplay; one brother, John Mantheiy of Baltimore; and eight grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one sister and four brothers.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 1 p.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Cumberland. Monsignor Robert S. Passarelli will be celebrant. Burial will be in St. Mary's cemetery in Cumberland.
Friends will be received Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Scarpelli Funeral Home, 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland. A Christian wake will be conducted at 8:30 p.m.

Juanita W. Bachtell
SMITHSBURG - Juanita Winters Bachtell, 95, of Pennsylvania Avenue, and Fahrney-Keedy Memorial Home in Boonsboro, died Sunday, Dec. 5, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
Born July 5, 1904, in Smithsburg, she was the daughter of the late Ardie W. and Shirdie E. Honodel Winters.
Her husband, Edward Leroy Bachtell Sr., died in 1960.
She was employed as a school teacher; and by Fairchild Aircraft in Hagerstown.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Smithsburg and the Wednesday Circle.
She was a member of Washington County Hospital Auxiliary; Smithsburg Historical Society, and was a Red Cross Auxiliary volunteer.
She is survived by one daughter, Betty B. Kelly of Mercer Island, Wash.; three sons, Edward L. Bachtell of Walkersville, Md., Earl W. Bachtell of Peoria, Ariz., and the Rev. Donald S. Bachtell of Placentia, Calif.; one sister, Katherine Holtzman of Reeder Memorial Home in Boonsboro; three brothers, Samuel J. Winters Sr. of Smithsburg, Ardie W. Winters of Waynesboro, Pa., and the Rev. Richard H. Winters of Hagerstown; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Margaret W. Kelly, Bernadette Warrenfeltz Palmer and H. Annette Winders; and one grandchild.
Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Fahrney-Keedy Chapel, 8507 Mapleville Road, Boonsboro. The Rev. Louis L. Emerick will officiate. Burial will be in Smithsburg Cemetery.
The family will receive friends today from 6 to 8 p.m. at Davis Funeral Home, 12525 Bradbury Ave. in Smithsburg.

John H. Conrad
FREDERICK, Md. - John Harmon Conrad, 91, of 1599 Carey Place, and formerly of Hagerstown, died Monday, Dec. 6, 1999, at Frederick Memorial Hospital.
Born Aug. 8, 1908, in Waynesboro, Pa., he was the son of the late Samuel H. and Mary Esther Sinn Conrad.
He was a 1926 graduate of Surrey Boys' High School.
He worked at Fairchild Aircraft. He was a city clerk of Hagerstown. He retired from the city in 1967.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Temple.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Margaret Harper Conrad; two daughters, Faye Bevard of Frederick and Lois Conrad of Novato, Calif.; three sons, Earl H. Conrad of Waynesboro, Jack O. Conrad and Glen E. Conrad, both of Hagerstown; two sisters, Mary E. Hoch of Baltimore and Charlotte E. Boyers of Hagerstown; one brother, Charles Conrad of Hagerstown; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Luella Conrad; and three brothers, Homer Conrad, Ben Conrad and Irvin Conrad.
Services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Emmanuel Baptist Temple, 16221 National Pike, Hagerstown. The Rev. Ed Hampton will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.

Annie M. Smith
FREDERICK, Md. - Annie Marie Bartholow Smith, 63, of 400 Taney Ave., died Saturday, Dec. 4, 1999, at Frederick Memorial Hospital.
Born Dec. 14, 1935, in Boonsboro, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Annie Catherine Haupt Smith.
She was employed by Jeanne Bussard Center in Frederick.
She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Frederick.
She was a participant in Special Olympics and was supported by Community Living Inc. in Frederick.
She is survived by one brother, Gerald C. Smith of Hagerstown; and nieces.
She was preceded in death by a brother, William Smith.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Bast Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro. The Rev. Don Reaves will officiate. Burial will be in Boonsboro Cemetery.
