Emogene S. Wenner
KNOXVILLE, Md. - Emogene Souder Wenner, 89, of 1530A Souder Road, died Wednesday, Dec. 1, 1999, at Frederick Memorial Hospital in Frederick, Md.
Born May 10, 1910, near Brunswick, Md., she was the daughter of the late John Nevin and Fannie Rhodes Castle Souder Sr.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Woodrow Wenner, in 1970.
She was a 1927 graduate of Brunswick High School.
She was a retired farmer, owning and operating Springdale Farm near Brunswick.
She was a member of Petersville Lutheran Chapel in Petersville, Md.
She was a charter member of Merryland Tract Homemakers.
She is survived by a sister, Mary S. Bussard of Frederick; three nieces; three nephews; 16 great-nieces and great-nephews; and 26 great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, John N. Souder Jr. and T. Woodrow Souder; and two nephews.
Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Petersville Lutheran Chapel. The Rev. Carroll Boyer and Seminarian Justin Walker will officiate. Burial will be in Reformed cemetery in Jefferson, Md.
The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at John T. Williams Funeral Home, 100 Petersville Road in Brunswick. For the convenience of friends, the funeral home will be open Friday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Joyce E. Talbert
DERWOOD, Md. - Joyce Eileen Shilling Talbert, of Derwood, died Tuesday, Nov. 30, 1999, at Suburban Hospital.
She was born in Funkstown.
She was a 1946 graduate of Hagerstown High School; and a graduate of Washington County Hospital School of Nursing.
She was a registered nurse at Potomac Valley Nursing Center from 1982 to 1996. She was employed by Maplewood Nursing Center in Bethesda, Md., as a registered nurse.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas V. Talbert; a daughter, Joni Talbert Ellis; and five grandchildren, Christopher T. Ellis, Michelle K. Ellis, Matthew P. Ellis, Jacqueline M. Talbert and Madeleine L. Talbert.
Graveside services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Funkstown Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at DeVol Funeral Home, 10 E. Deer Park Drive in Gaithersburg, Md.

Mary M. Vanlaer
CLEAR SPRING - Mary Margaret Vanlaer, 46, of 21 Cumberland St., died Tuesday, Nov. 30, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
Born May 7, 1953, in Olney, Md., she was the daughter of Edwin R. and Lena Bradley Itnyre of Rohrersville, Md.
She was a 1971 graduate of Walt Whitman High School in Bethesda, Md., pursued French studies in Lille, France, and attended Hagerstown Junior College. She graduated in 1999 from University of Maryland with a degree in arts and humanities.
She held various jobs including chef, caretaker and teacher.
She was a volunteer with Washington County Museum of Fine Arts, a docent of Clear Spring Plumb Grove Museum and a member of the local cancer support group.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Eric Gerard Vanlaer; two sisters, Susan Glick of Silver Spring, Md. and Kathryn Medley of Richmond, Va.; several aunts and uncles; three nieces and two nephews.
Memorial services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 64 S. Main St., Boonsboro. The Rev. Loyal Vanderveer will officiate.
There will be no visitation.

Elizabeth E. Balducci
Elizabeth E. Balducci, 88, of 11200 Stonecroft Court, Hagerstown, died Wednesday, Dec. 1, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Jan. 1, 1911, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late William and Ella M. Dorsey Keil.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert M. Balducci, in 1984.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church; Sodality and Catholic Golden Age.
She was a member of Cascade American Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by two daughters, Virginia M. Breidenstein of Berlin, Md., and Nancy E. Angle of Waynesboro, Pa.; and two grandchildren.
Services will be Friday at 9:30 a.m. at Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac St. in Hagerstown. The Rev. George Limmer will officiate. Burial will be in Gardens of Faith cemetery in Baltimore.
Ronald H. Lucas
Ronald H. Lucas, 67, of 1204 Wabash Ave., Hagerstown, died Tuesday, Nov. 30, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Aug. 12, 1932, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Lewis Lucas and Genieve Brandt Lucas Jones.
He had worked at Mack Trucks Inc. as a machinist.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was a member of Conococheague Tribe 84 IORM, Potomac Post 202 American Legion in Williamsport, Funkstown Loyal Order of Moose 2435 and Mack Union 171.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn A. Ramer Lucas; two daughters, Pamela Sirbaugh of Hagerstown and Cynthia Lucas of Greencastle, Pa.; two sons, Rustin W. Lucas of Ferrum, Va., and Ronald L. Lucas of Hedgesville, W.Va.; one stepson, Kim A. Ramer of Funkstown; his stepmother, Cornelia Lucas of Hagerstown; four grandchildren, one great-granddaughter and several aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by one son, Jerry Lucas.
Services will be held today at 7:30 p.m. at Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac St. The Rev. Darrell L. Layman will officiate.
The family will receive friends today 30 minutes prior to the service.
The family requests the omission of flowers.
Ronald H. Lucas
Ronald H. Lucas, 67, of 1204 Wabash Ave., Hagerstown, who died Tuesday, Nov. 30, 1999, was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He is survived by one great-granddaughter; and aunts and uncles.
Services will be Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac St., Hagerstown.
Visitation will be 30 minutes prior to the service on Thursday.
Mary E. Ippolito
Mary Evelyn Flanagan Ippolito, 85, of 17905 Hickory Lane, Hagerstown, died Monday, Nov. 29, 1999, at her home.
Born June 15, 1914, in St. John, New Brunswick, Canada, she was the daughter of the late Edward J. and Helen Graham Flanigan.
Her husband, Onofrio George Ippolito, died in 1990.
She was educated in St. John, and received a nursing degree from St. Joseph's Hospital.
She worked for more than 30 years as a nurse in St. Claire's Hospital in New York City, St. Mary's Hospital in West Palm Beach, Fla., and retired from Washington County Hospital in Hagerstown.
She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
She is survived by three sons, Robert G. Ippolito of San Diego, William J. Ippolito of Maugansville, and Michael E. Ippolito of Hagerstown; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 9 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 17630 Virginia Ave., Hagerstown, with the Rev. Christopher Moore as celebrant. Burial will be in Florida National cemetery in Bushnell, Fla.
The family will receive friends at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, today from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Prayers will be recited at 3 p.m.
