Walter A. Snyder
MIDDLETOWN, Md. - Walter A. Snyder, 68, of Middletown, died Monday, Nov. 29, 1999, at his home.
Born Oct. 1, 1931, in Watertown, N.Y., he was the son of the late Walter Carl and Ethel Avery Snyder.
He retired as a master craftsman, working for several firms, and also for himself.
He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Navy.
He was a life member of Hutchinson Hose Volunteer Fire Department of Williamsville, N.Y.; and a member of American Legion and AMVETS Post 9.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Margaret Anne "Peg" Snyder; a daughter, Susan S. Mitchell of Rohrersville, Md.; three sons, Walter C. Snyder of Dickerson, Md., Robert A. Snyder and John M. Snyder, both of Frederick, Md.; and grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Hilton Funeral Home, 22111 Beallsville Road in Barnesville, Md.

Ronald H. Lucas
Ronald H. Lucas, 67, of 1204 Wabash Ave., died Tuesday, Nov. 30, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Aug. 12, 1932, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Lewis Lucas and Genieve Brandt Lucas Jones.
He had worked at Mack Trucks Inc. as a machinist.
He was a member of Conococheague Tribe 84 IORM, Potomac Post 202 American Legion in Williamsport, Funkstown Loyal Order of Moose 2435 and Mack Union 171.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn A. Ramer Lucas; two daughters, Pamela Sirbaugh of Hagerstown and Cynthia Lucas of Greencastle, Pa.; two sons, Rustin W. Lucas of Ferrum, Va., and Ronald L. Lucas of Hedgesville, W.Va.; one stepson, Kim A. Ramer of Funkstown; his stepmother, Cornelia Lucas of Hagerstown; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Jerry Lucas.
Services will be held Thursday at Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac St. The Rev. Darrell L. Layman will officiate.

Donald G. Wishard
Donald Gordon Wishard, 69, of 13147 Resh Road, Hagerstown, died Tuesday, Nov. 30, 1999, at Williamsport Nursing Home.
Born Feb. 5, 1930, in Washington County, he was the son of the late Fred Henry Wishard Sr. and Jennie Gordon Wishard.He was preceded in death by his wife, Lolita L. Wishard, in 1992.He retired as an SSG from the U.S. Air Force. He was employed with the Maryland Correctional Institute, retiring from there as a captain.
He was a member of Broadfording Church of God.
He was a member of American Legion Clear Spring Post 222.
He is survived by two sisters, Lovesse V. Snyder of Hagerstown and Mildred Holmgren of Williamsburg, Va.; a brother, Fred H. Wishard Jr. of Florida; nieces and nephews; and a friend and caretaker, Harriett Betty McAllister of Hagerstown.
Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. William C. Crowe will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, with military honors conducted by members of American Legion Morris Frock Post 42.
There will be no viewing.

William L. Barron
William L. Barron, 86, of 18514 Orchard Hills Parkway, Hagerstown, died Monday, Nov. 29, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
Born June 6, 1913, in Leetown, W.Va., he was the son of the late Walter Lee and Vadna Ruth Bowers Barron.
He attended school at Shenandoah Valley Academy in New Market, Va.
He retired in 1972, as a supervisor of the Construction and Maintenance Departments of Quality Inn Motels.
He was a life member of Seventh-day Adventist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Evelyn A. Barron; two daughters, Carolyn Adams of Takoma Park, Md., and Ruth Ann Barron of Collegedale, Tenn.; two sons, William Gerald Barron of Greensboro, Md., and Sheldon Duane Barron of Frederick, Md.; two sisters, Thelma Barney of Martinsburg, W.Va., and Lucille Smallwood of Inwood, W.Va.; a brother, Kenneth Barron of Shepherdstown, W.Va.; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Mason Lee Barron.
Services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North in Hagerstown. The Rev. James R. Hoffer will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale cemetery in Martinsburg.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Dorothy P. Wahler
WILLIAMSPORT - Dorothy P. Wahler, 81, of 4 Oak Tree Lane, died Tuesday, Nov. 30, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
Born June 23, 1918, in Jersey City, N.J., she was the daughter of the late Henry Michael and Lillian A. Ziegler Nissel.
She attended Paramount Brethren in Christ Church.
She was a member of Ladies of the Elks Lodge 378.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Albert O. Wahler; two sons, John R. Wahler of Hagerstown and Raymond F. Wahler of Swartz Creek, Mich.; a brother, Henry Michael Nissel of Hagerstown; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Albert H. Wahler; a sister, Lillian G. Lunsbury; and a brother, Andrew H. Nissel.
Services will be Friday at 1:30 p.m. at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North in Hagerstown. The Rev. James R. Stauffer will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park in Williamsport.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Timothy M. Hintze
SCOTTS VALLEY, Calif. - Timothy Mark Hintze, 41, of Scotts Valley and formerly of Fond du Lac, Wis., died Friday, Nov. 12, 1999, at his home.
He was the son of Mary Ila Hintze of Fond du Lac and the late Milton Hintze.
He was a 1983 graduate of Wisconsin-Madison University.
He worked for Gold Bond Ice Cream Co. in Green Bay, Wis., Richland Center, Wis., and Hagerstown. Later, he worked as a manufacturing manager of Thomas J. Lipton Co. in Inglewood, N.J., and Santa Cruz, Calif.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his former wife, Julie Rae Hintze; a daughter, Crystal Hintze; a son, Jacob Hintze, all of Scotts Valley; and seven sisters and brothers.
A memorial service was held Thursday, Nov. 18, in Scotts Valley.
A second memorial service will be held Tuesday, Dec. 21, in Fond du Lac.

Iretha M. Fike
MIDDLETOWN, Md. - Iretha Mae Fike, 79, of Middletown and formerly of Friendsville, Md., died Monday, Nov. 29, 1999, at Collegeview Nursing Home in Frederick, Md.
Born Jan. 3, 1920, in Friendsville, Md., she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Sarah Christine VanSickle Bruner.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester K. Fike, in 1998.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Sand Spring Church of God.
She is survived by two daughters, Jean Atwell of Middletown and Helen Inderdohnen of Rockville, Md.; a sister, Abby Bruner of Frederick; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and companion, Charles Scott.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, William Bruner, David Bruner and Roy Bruner.
Services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Newman Funeral Homes in Friendsville. The Rev. Dana Umbel will officiate. Burial will be in Sand Spring Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
