Helen B. Green
WILLIAMSPORT - Helen Binkley Green, 98, of 16505 Virginia Ave., died Monday, Nov. 29, 1999, at Homewood Retirement Center in Williamsport.
Born Feb. 13, 1901, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late William Regan and Jessie Lehman Binkley.
She was preceded in death by her husband, R. Bernard Green, in 1960.
She was a 1918 graduate of Washington County High School. She attended Swarthmore College.
She taught at Miss Fordyce's private school on Potomac Street. She and her husband owned and operated Southern Hardware Store on Virginia Avenue.
She was an elder and active member of Presbyterian Church of Hagerstown.
She was a member of Women's Club; Crossroads Garden Club; Historical Society; and Conococheague Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
She shared her collection of bird nests, giving talks to schools, clubs, etc.
She is survived by a daughter, Margaret Green Kemp of Hagerstown; a son, William Binkley Green of Hendersonville, N.C.; a sister, Margaret B. Du Vernet of Williamsport; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Lehman Binkley.
Services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Presbyterian Church of Hagerstown. The Rev. John W. Ailstock and the Rev. Russell Butcher will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd. in Hagerstown.

Eugene L. Wolford
Eugene Lee Wolford, 73, of 11019 Roessner Ave., Hagerstown, died Tuesday, Nov. 30, 1999, at his home.
Born Feb. 21, 1926, in Funkstown, he was the son of the late Theodore and Martha Irene Kershner Wolford.
He retired from Mack Trucks.
He served in the U.S. Marines during World War II. He was in the First Division, First Regiment, Third Battalion, Company L. He was in the Pacific Campaign serving in Peleiu and Okinawa.
He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Funkstown, where he was a member of Chancel Choir; Church Council; and served on various committees.
He was a charter member of American Legion Funkstown Post 211; past president and umpire of Halfway Little League; and past president of Mack Management Club.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Lorraine E. Gearhart Wolford; three daughters, Barbara Jean O'Connor of State Line, Pa., Christine Moats of Williamsport and Marlina Smith of Fairplay; two sons, David E. Wolford of Hagerstown and John M. Wolford of Smithsburg; two sisters, Helen Moser of Funkstown and Margery Hess of Ocean City, Md.; 12 grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Lucas; and two brothers, John Wolford and Leslie Wolford.
Services will be Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Funkstown. The Rev. Darrell L. Layman will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, with military honors conducted by members of American Legion Morris Frock Post 42.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd. in Hagerstown; and Friday at 9 a.m. at the church.

FREDERICK, Md. - Dorothy Ruth Wynkoop, 74, of 507 Edenton Retirement Center, and formerly of Petersville, Md., died Monday, Nov. 29, 1999, at her home.
Born July 17, 1925, in Trego, Md., she was the daughter of the late Oscar Charles and Maude Webber Boyer.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, Jay Wynkoop, in 1982.
She retired in 1981 from C&P Telephone Co. after 37 years of service.
She was of the Protestant faith.
She was a member of Telephone Pioneers of America, Home Chapter Women of the Moose, Frederick and AARP.
She is survived by one niece, Joyce Page of Myersville, Md. She was the last of her immediate family.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at John T. Williams Funeral Home, 100 Petersville Road, Brunswick, Md. The Rev. Clark D. Carr will officiate. Burial will be in Locust Valley Bible Church Cemetery, Middletown, Md.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. For the convenience of friends the funeral home will be open Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Naomi R. Harbaugh
DAYTON, Ohio - Naomi R. Harbaugh, 98, of 3224 Ridge Ave., and formerly of 866 Mulberry Ave., Hagerstown, died Saturday, Nov. 27, 1999, at the home of her daughter.
Born Sept. 15, 1901, in Benevola, Md., she was the daughter of the late William Riley and Emma Virginia Routzahn Winders.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Omer H. Harbaugh, in 1985.
She was a graduate of Towson Normal School.
She was employed by Washington County Board of Education as a teacher and guidance counselor for 30 years.
She was a member of Zion Evangelical and Reformed Church, United Church of Christ, Hagerstown.
She was a member of Washington County Retired Teachers Association.
She is survived by one daughter, Betsy J. Light of Dayton; three grandsons, Thomas R. Light of Milwaukee, David R. Light of San Mateo, Calif. and John E. Light of Kill Devil Hills, N.C.; one granddaughter, Barbara A. Light of Sequim, Wash. and four great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in Rose Hill Cemetery, 600 S. Potomac St., Hagerstown. The Rev. Stephen D. Robison will officiate.
There will be no viewing.
