Gladys L. Darr
FREDERICK, Md. - Gladys Louise Darr, 76, of 800 Motter Ave. and formerly of Brunswick, Md., died Friday, Nov. 26, 1999, at Frederick Memorial Hospital.
Born Feb. 15, 1923, in Martinsburg, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late William Humphrey and Dena Appell Lancaster.
She was a member of Grace Episcopal Church in Brunswick.
She is survived by a daughter, Virginia Frye of Knoxville, Md.; three sons, Richard Lancaster of Ijamsville, Md., Steve Darr of Great Falls, Va., and Robin Darr of Frederick; a sister, Katherine Carey of Brunswick; and six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Violet Lancaster, June Virts and Lillian Lambert, and two brothers, James Lancaster and Robert Lancaster.
Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at John T. Williams Funeral Home, 100 Petersville Road in Brunswick. Burial will be in Park Heights cemetery in Brunswick.
The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. For the convenience of friends, the funeral home will be open Monday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Donald C. Yoder
SEVERN, Md. - Donald C. Yoder, 71, of Severn, died Thursday, Nov. 25, 1999, at his home.
Born in Johnstown, Pa., he was the son of the late Alton Leroy and Hulda Miller Yoder.
He earned his G.E.D. while serving in the U.S. Army.
He was a master chef at several restaurants in the Baltimore-Washington metropolitan area.
He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Army. He served from 1946 to 1966. He experienced tours of duty in Italy, Japan, Okinawa, Marshall Islands and Korea.
He is survived by his wife, Kimie Hara Yoder; three sisters, Delores Wilson of Pittsburgh and Minnie Mae Lynn and Joan Gaston, both of Villa Rica, Ga.; a brother, Richard Kisslak of Bellefonte, Pa.; cousins; and a foster nephew.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Ann Yoder.
Services will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Gary L. Kaufman Funeral Home, 7250 Washington Blvd., Meadowridge Memorial Park in Elkridge, Md. The Rev. Roger Truax will officiate. Burial will be in Meadowridge Memorial Park.
Visitation will be today from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Terry A. Toms
WILLIAMSPORT - Terry Arnold Toms, 47, of 30 E. Church St., died Friday, Nov. 26, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Dec. 18, 1951, in Washington County, he was the son of Maurice W. Toms of Hagerstown and Janice A. Wolfe Viertel of Williamsport.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his stepfather, Lowell R. Viertel of Williamsport; a brother, Gary Allen Toms Sr. of Greencastle, Pa.; aunts; uncles; and nieces and nephews.
Services and burial will be private, held at the convenience of the family.
There will be no public viewing.
The family requests the omission of flowers.
Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.

Richard L. Shank
BARBERTON, Ohio - Richard Lee Shank, 37, of Barberton, died Tuesday, Nov. 23, 1999, at Barberton Hospital.
Born Jan. 11, 1962, in Washington County, he was the son of Mary Etta Ridenour Shank Jenkins of Charles Town, W.Va., and the late Omer William Shank.
He was a truck driver.
He was of the Methodist faith.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his stepfather, Donald Leon Jenkins of Charles Town; four sons, Richard Lee Shank Jr., Rondey Dwayne Shank and Derick Mitchell Shank, all of Barberton, and Matthew Dilon Shank of Martinsburg, W.Va.; a sister, Brenda Kay Jenkins of Shenandoah Junction, W.Va.; and three brothers, Mark Wayne Shank of Lakeland, Fla., Robert Omer Shank of Ranson, W.Va., and Eric Eugene Shank of Inwood, W.Va.
He was preceded in death by a brother, David William Shank.
Services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Jefferson Chapel Funeral Home in Ranson, W.Va. The Rev. Kenneth J. Fizer Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Lena cemetery in Boonsboro.

Mae C. Stonesifer
FUNKSTOWN - Mae Catherine "Sis" Stonesifer, 85, of 20 W. Baltimore St., died Thursday, Nov. 25, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Dec. 9, 1913, in Burkettsville, Md., she was the daughter of the late John Stanley and Ella May Bowlus Jones.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Stonesifer.
She was educated in Maryland schools.
She retired from Maryland Ribbon Co.
She was of the Protestant faith.
She was a member of AARP and a Gold Star member of American Legion Funkstown Post 211.
She is survived by two daughters, Shirley E. Hays of Smithsburg and Sondra Garmong Meadows of Martinsburg, W.Va.; a son, Jay S. Smith of Funkstown; two sisters, Ruth Jones Boward and Freda Sweeney, both of Hagerstown; two brothers, Paul Jones of Hagerstown and Kenneth Jones of Funkstown; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Jennifer Domer; a sister, Estelle Jones Moser; and five brothers, Floyd Jones, Herald Jones, Charles Bill Jones, Glenn Jones and Jay Jones.
Memorial services will be Monday at 7:30 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd. in Hagerstown. The Rev. William Kercheval will officiate.
Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.

Bessie D. Leatherman
Bessie D. Leatherman, 83, a resident of Colton Villa Nursing Center in Hagerstown, and formerly of 12 N. Main St. in Keyser, W.Va., died Thursday, Nov. 25, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
Born March 3, 1916, in Romney, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late William Henry and Hannah Susan Poland Beatty.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Thomas Leatherman, in 1965.
She was a homemaker.
She was of the Methodist faith.
She is survived by two sons, Eston Thomas Leatherman of Williamsport and John Williams Leatherman of Hagerstown; two brothers, Russell Beatty of Keyser, W.Va., and Richard Beatty of Burlington, W.Va.; four sisters, Minnie Loy of Augusta, W.Va., Mary Beatty and Emma Biser, both of Burlington, W.Va., and Violet Staggs of Keyser; four granddaughters; and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Smith Funeral Home, 85 S. Main St. in Keyser. Burial will be in Headsville cemetery in Headsville, W.Va.
Friends may call Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Frank J. Len
Frank Joseph Len, 82, of 934 Noland Drive, Hagerstown, died Wednesday, Nov. 24, 1999, at Ravenwood Nursing Home.
Born March 26, 1917, in Carnegie, Pa., he was the son of the late Joseph and Katherine Kostka Len.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was employed by Mack Trucks, retiring in 1981.
He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
He was a member of American Legion Morris Frock Post 42.
He is survived by his wife, Rose H. Len; a daughter, Cathy Len Widmyer of Williamsport; three sons, Richard F. Len of Hagerstown, John J. Len of Pittsburgh and Frankie J. Len of Jacksonville, Fla.; two sisters, Sister M. Bernadette, S.H.S., of Pittsburgh and Blanche Len Javosz of Carnegie; a brother, Joseph A. Len of Carnegie; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Ignatius Len.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. The Rev. Christopher Moore will be celebrant. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd. in Hagerstown. Prayers will be recited Sunday at 3 p.m. at the funeral home.
