Anna E. Reese
Anna E. Reese, 74, formerly of 7 E. Washington St., died Tuesday, Nov. 16, 1999, at Julia Manor Health Care Center, Hagerstown.
Born Sept. 24, 1925, in Williamsport, she was the daughter of the late Arley C. and Sylvia L. Garrett Barry.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William A. Reese, in 1967.
She is survived by one son, Milton W. Huyett of Chambersburg, Pa.; one sister, Beulah Roberts of Silver Spring, Md.; and three grandchildren.
Services will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac St., Hagerstown. The Rev. J. Norman Mayer will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Williamsport.
Visitation will be Thursday 30 minutes before the services.
Joseph W. Webb
Joseph William Webb, 85, of 13522 Paradise Drive, Hagerstown, died Tuesday, Nov. 16, 1999, at Coffman Nursing Home.
Born March 25, 1914, in Pondsville, Md., he was the son of the late John William Webb Sr. and Anna May Swope Webb.
He was employed by Fairchild Aircraft and retired from Mack Trucks in 1979.
He was a member of First Brethren Church.
A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he served in World War II in the Pacific.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mary Ellen Beall Webb; one daughter, JoEleanor Webb of Hagerstown; one brother, John William Webb Jr. of Hagerstown; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by four sisters, Rosie Cunningham, Leona Keadle, Betty Dandelski and Helen Webb; and five brothers, Wesley Webb, Merrick Webb, Charles Webb, Marshall Webb and George Webb.
Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown. The Rev. Bruce Foster will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Hagerstown.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Olive V. Moser
MYERSVILLE, Md. - Olive V. Moser, 94, of Myersville, died Sunday, Nov. 14, 1999, at Farhney-Keedy Memorial Home in Boonsboro.
Born July 9, 1905, in Washington County, she was the daughter of the late George B. and Jennie Arnold Mullendore.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger J. Moser, in 1987.
She was a member of Myersville Baptist Church.
She is survived by four stepsons, Gaither Moser and Francis Moser, both of Myersville, Merhle Moser and Carroll Moser, both of Middletown, Md.; step grandchildren; step great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a step grandson.
Services will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at Ricketts Funeral Home, 504 Main St., Myersville. Pastor Donna Ritchey Martin will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Zion United Methodist cemetery in Myersville.
The family will receive friends Thursday at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home.

Emory C. Metger
Emory Calvin Metger, 83, of 15219 National Pike, Hagerstown, died Monday, Nov. 15, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Jan. 30, 1916, in Cumberland, Md., he was the son of the late Harvey and Lillie Voghtman Metger.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn P. Simmons Metger, in 1994.
He was employed as a toolmaker at Victor Products; Fairchild Aircraft; and retired from Mack Trucks in 1981.
A veteran of World War II, he served as a flight officer with the U.S. Army Air Corps in the European Theater. He was a B-17 pilot with 30 missions over Germany. He was a awarded the Air Medal with two Oak Clusters, and the Distinguished Flying Cross with one Oak Cluster. After World War II, he was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force. He served on active duty and reserve capacity until his retirement in 1964.
He was a Methodist.
He is survived by a daughter, Catherine E. Wesmiller of Hagerstown; two sons, Clifford A. Metger of Hagerstown and Howard E. Metger of Williamsport; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Kathryn Meister.
A memorial service will be held Friday at 8 p.m. at Tri-State Fellowship, 13153 Cearfoss Pike, Hagerstown. Pastor Randy Buckman will officiate.
Entombment services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, with military honors by the U.S. Air Force Honor Guard. Chaplain Patricia Drake will officiate.
The family will receive friends Friday at 7 p.m. at Tri-State Fellowship.

Elsie H. Spitzer
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - Elsie Hager Spitzer, of Corpus Christi, and formerly of Hagerstown, died Sunday, Nov. 14, 1999, at her home.
Her husband, the Rev. Lee F. Spitzer, died Oct. 3.
She is survived by two daughters, Joan Gould of Sarasota, Fla., and Jerry Roberts of Corpus Christi; two sons, Howard Spitzer of Corpus Christi and Terry Spitzer of Kalona, Iowa; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Earl Spitzer.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Memory Gardens Funeral Home, 8200 Old Brownsville Road, Corpus Christi. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
Elizabeth A. Shanholtzer
WILLIAMSPORT - Elizabeth Angeline Shanholtzer, 94, of 16505 Virginia Ave., and formerly of 120 Greenmount Ave., Hagerstown, died Sunday, Nov. 14, 1999, at Homewood Retirement Center near Williamsport.
Born June 20, 1905, in Old Fields, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Mitchell Felix and Mary Etta Simmons Poling.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard L. "Happy" Shanholtzer, in 1981.
She was a 1925 graduate of Moorefield (W.Va.) High School.
She was a homemaker; and worked at Fairchild Aircraft in Hagerstown during World War II.
She was a member of Washington Square United Methodist Church in Hagerstown; a former choir member; Sunday School teacher, and member of Golden Rule class.
She is survived by one daughter, Ruth I. Howell of Boonsboro; one sister, Phyllis Sherman of Moorefield; five brothers, Ray Poling, Lindsey Poling, Felix Poling and Don Poling, all of Moorefield, and Karl Poling of Seal Beach, Calif.; three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Pauline Sherman and Edna Shobe; and two brothers, Harry Poling and Frank Poling.
Services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Bast Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro. The Rev. Harold P. Atkins will officiate. Burial will be in Boonsboro Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from noon to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
