Dorothy A. Hull
Dorothy Agnes Hull, 85, a resident of Avalon Manor Nursing Home in Hagerstown, and formerly of Hollow Road in Hancock, died Saturday, Nov. 13, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
Born May 25, 1914, in Hancock, she was the daughter of the late Simon and Cora Bivens Younker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester R. Hull, in 1991.
She was a homemaker.
She attended Orchard Ridge First Church of God in Hancock.
She is survived by four daughters, Lena Ganoe of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., Ruby Swain of Hancock, Agnes Deck of Fort Louden, Pa. and Norma Jane Hull of Hagerstown; seven sons, Wilbur Hull and Amos Hull, both of Boonsboro, Lester Benjamin Hull of Mount Union, Pa., Andy Hull, Daniel Hull, Ralph Hull and Jesse Hull, all of Hancock; three sisters, Daisy Cassidy and Ida Hart of Hagerstown, Ester Barnhart of Hancock; two brothers, Herbert Younker of Savage, Md. and David Younker of Selah, Wash.; 15 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Raymond Hull; two sisters, Reva Brannon and Rena Hart; four brothers, Monroe Younker, Roy Younker, Alvin Younker and Russell Younker.
Services will be Monday, Nov. 15, at 11 a.m. at Stone Bridge Church of the Brethren, Hollow Road in Hancock.The Rev. Jeff Hawbaker will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the church. For the convenience of friends, the church will be open today from 3 to 9 p.m. and Monday at 10 a.m.

Betty F. Whitbeck
Betty F. Whitbeck, 64, of 55 E. Washington St., Hagerstown, died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
She was the daughter of the late Catherine F. Moniker.
She was a member of Hagerstown Bible Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Saria Bushmire of Pennsylvania; two sisters, Sandra Boward and Brenda Auchmoddy, both of Hagerstown; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and her companion, Ezra Glenn Jr. of Hagerstown.
Graveside services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Beautiful View cemetery in Middleburg, Md. The Rev. Dale R. Carver will officiate.
There will be no viewing.

Kenneth F. Smith
WILLIAMSPORT - Kenneth Frederick Smith, 71, of 10614 Harry Heth Road, died Friday, Nov. 12, 1999, at Stella Maris Hospice Care Center in Towson, Md.
Born Aug. 15, 1928, in Buffalo, N.Y., he was the son of Frederick and Victoria Pichur Smith.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Victoria Virginia Miller, in 1972.
He was a 1946 graduate of Technical High School in Buffalo and a 1954 graduate of the University of Buffalo.
He was owner and operator of WYII Radio Station, retiring in 1998.
He was a member of Potomac Post 202 American Legion of Williamsport and Conococheague Tribe 84 IORed Men of Williamsport.
He is survived by a daughter, Vanessa C. Smith of Towson; a son, Tyler F. Smith of California; and two brothers, Robert Smith of Texas and Brian Smith of Indiana.
There will be no viewing.
A memorial service will be Monday at 10 a.m. at Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St. in Williamsport. The Rev. Alfred E. Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park in Williamsport, at the convenience of the family.
The family requests the omission of flowers.

John T. Olsen
CASCADE - John T. Olsen, 50, of 25335 Springdale Ave., died Friday, Nov. 12, 1999, at his home.
Born June 17, 1949, in Thurmont, Md., he was the son of Clifton Everett and Mary Louise Schildt Olsen of Thurmont.
He was a 1967 graduate of Thurmont High School and a 1969 graduate of Frederick Community College.
He was employed with Western Maryland and CSX Railroad for 21 years.
He served 10 years in the Maryland Army National Guard.
He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hagerstown.
He was a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Sharon F. Ruths Olsen; one daughter, Emily D. Munson of Thurmont; one son, Andrew C. Olsen of Cascade; his mother-in-law; and a brother-in-law.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be said Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 218 W. Washington St., Hagerstown. The Rev. George A. Limmer will be celebrant. Burial will be in Harbaugh cemetery near Rouzerville, Pa.
The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Davis Funeral Home, 12525 Bradbury Ave., Smithsburg.

Max A. Dagenhart
KEEDYSVILLE - Max Aubrey Dagenhart, 88, of 94 S. Main St., died Thursday, Nov. 11, 1999, at Frederick Memorial Hospital in Frederick, Md.
Born Sept. 18, 1911, in Rohrersville, Md., he was the son of the late Urner S. and Katherine Poffenberger Dagenhart.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Sarah Wyand Dagenhart, in 1981.
He had been a self-employed stone and brick mason.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy. He was stationed in Germany.
He was a former member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Sharpsburg.
He is survived by a daughter, Kathy S. Hoffman of Keedysville; a stepdaughter, JoAnn Williams of Keedysville; three granddaughters, Samantha J. Crist, Nichole Stotler and Jessica K. Hoffman, all of Keedysville; three step-grandchildren; Paula S. Sholty and Kurt A. Williams, both of Boonsboro, and Rick E. Williams of Knoxville, Tenn.; a special friend, Evelyn Hines of Boonsboro; a great-grandson; and five step-great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Bast Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro. The Rev. Joseph I. Donovan III will officiate. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Fairview Cemetery, Keedysville.
There will be no viewing; however, the family will receive friends Monday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
Thomas F. van Norden
Thomas Frits van Norden, 75, of Hagerstown, died Friday, Nov. 12, 1999, at his home.
Born Nov. 9, 1924, in Malang, former Dutch East Indies now known as Indonesia, he was the son of the late Thomas and Johanna Elfrine Rosbak van Norden.
He immigrated to the United States in 1957.
He was employed by Pangborn Corp., retiring in 1986.
He was a member of Hagerstown Church of the Brethren, serving as an usher captain.
He was a member of Washington County Hospital Auxiliary from 1986 to 1998.
He was a member of BPO Elks 378.
He participated and assisted with numerous JFK 50-mile runs.
He is survived by his wife, Beatrice Eugenie Krul van Norden; two sons, Maxim Frits van Norden of Long Beach, Miss., and Archibald Thomas van Norden of Hagerstown; a brother, Adriaan van Norden of Krimpen an den Lek, The Netherlands; seven grandchildren; eight nieces; and five nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Jenny Hicks, and a brother, Jan van Norden, both of the Netherlands.
Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Hagerstown Church of the Brethren. The Rev. Dean M. Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd. in Hagerstown.
