Clara A. Fairall
CLEAR SPRING - Clara Amelia Fairall, 85, of 10927 Ashton Road, and formerly of Temple Hills, Md., died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
Born July 16, 1914, in Washington D.C., she was the daughter of the late John and Clara Knowsky Gallagher.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred W. Fairall, in 1960.
She retired from the federal government; and later managed 51 Restaurant in Temple Hills.
She was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Washington; and was affiliated with St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Clear Spring.
She is survived by a son, Alvie Robert Fairall of Clear Spring; a grandchild; and a great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by two sisters.
Services will be Friday at 10 a.m. at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown. The Rev. Elaine Prince will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Hill cemetery in Suitland, Md.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Robert W. Palmer
FUNKSTOWN - Robert Wayne Palmer, 58, of 22 W. Green St., died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Jan. 13, 1941, in Washington County, he was the son of the late Otha M. Palmer and Katherine Irene House Palmer Graff.
He was employed by Conrail Systems, retiring in 1983.
He was a member of Goodwill Athletic Club.
He is survived by his wife, Lelia R. Palmer; a daughter, Daphne Sue Hart of Hagerstown; two sons, Douglas Wayne Palmer and Derek Christian Palmer, both of Hagerstown; three sisters, Claudette Henson and Cynthia Graff, both of Hagerstown, and Debra Sue Pryor of Burlington, W.Va.; a brother, Gary C. Graff of Hagerstown; five grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Carroll Boyer will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

George W. Snow
HANCOCK - George W. Snow, 93, of Woodmont Road, died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 1999, at Valley View Nursing Home in Berkeley Springs, W.Va.
Born Aug. 19, 1906, in Green County, Va., he was the son of the late William W. and Ida Bell Knighten Snow.
He retired from Maryland Machine and Foundry in Hagerstown. He had been employed by Washington County Roads Department.
He attended Catalpa and Hancock United Methodist Church.
He was a member of Woodmen of the World; National Rifle Association; and a former Army National Guard member.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mildred A. Boden Snow of Hancock; three daughters, Anna Mason of Gerrardstown, W.Va., Georgia Parker of Rapid City, S.D., and Margaret Stickel of Martinsburg, W.Va.; three sons, Marvin Snow of Martinsburg, George Snow of Hancock and Greg Snow; a stepdaughter, Betty Courtney of Warfordsburg, Pa.; 17 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three sons, Elwood Snow, Raymond Snow and George Snow; two sisters, Lilly Shiflett and Henrietta Knight; three brothers, Joseph Snow, Jetto Snow and Belvie Snow; and a step-grandson.
Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 141 W. Main St., Hancock. The Rev. Robert D. Smith Sr. will officiate. Burial will be in Warfordsburg (Pa.) Presbyterian Cemetery.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home, which will be open from 1 p.m.
Paul R. McLucas Sr.
Paul Rich McLucas Sr., 71, of Hagerstown, died Monday, Nov. 8, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
Born May 16, 1928, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Samuel Luther and Amy Viola Moser McLucas.
He was employed by Statton Furniture Co., retiring in 1986.
He was of the Pentecostal faith.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Phoebe May Souders McLucas; a daughter, Sonseeahray Nicewarner of Hagerstown; a son, Paul R. McLucas Jr. of Hagerstown; two sisters, Helen C. Hornbaker of Hagerstown and Mildred R. Horn of Leitersburg; four brothers, Earl L. McLucas of Wolfsville, Md., Ralph R. McLucas, William G. McLucas and Robert L. McLucas, all of Hagerstown; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Tina McLucas; and three sisters, Della M. Souders, Ethel V. Whittington and Mary E. Dick.
Services will be today at 1 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Terry B. Broadwater will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.

David R. Durst
David Robert Durst, 79, of 11233 Lakeside Drive, Hagerstown, and formerly of Gaithersburg, Md., died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 1999, at Colton Villa Nursing Center in Hagerstown.
Born June 3, 1920, in Akron, Ohio, he was the son of the late David Anthony and Ruth Marie Edwards Durst.
He retired from Weinchel Engineering in Gaithersburg, Md.; and was a former president of D.B. Electronics in Gaithersburg.
A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Army.
He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Williamsport.
He was a member of American Legion in Laurel, Md.; National Rifle Association; Montgomery Bowling Association; and Senior Citizens Bowling League.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Vivian Louise Durst; a daughter, Judith Carolyn Durst Killen of Hagerstown; a son, David Anthony Durst of Stanley, Va.; a brother, Ronald C. Durst of Atlanta; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Durst.
Graveside services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Rest Haven cemetery in Hagerstown. The Rev. Christopher P. Moore will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven cemetery in Hagerstown.
There will be no viewing.
