Peggy J. Kendrick
Peggy Joyce Renner Kendrick, 67, of 1639 Woodlands Run, died Monday, Nov. 8, 1999, at her home.
Born May 30, 1932, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Earl M. Sr. and Helen L. Hamby Fox Renner.
She had worked as a nurses' aide at Washington County Hospital and Kmart.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and taught Sunday school.
She was a judge and chief judge for the election board at Winter Street School. She was a member of Hits and Misses Bowling League and AARP.
She is survived by her husband, Harold W. Kendrick Sr.; two daughters, Kathy D. Jones and Lisa D. Jenkins, both of Hagerstown; three sons, Harold W. Kendrick Jr., David L. Kendrick and Michael L. Kendrick, all of Hagerstown; one sister, Beverly A. Dick of Hagerstown; two brothers, Earl M. Renner Jr. and Niles B. Fox Jr., both of Hagerstown; 17 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac St., Hagerstown. The Rev. George Limmer will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home, with prayers at 6 p.m.

Lawrence E. Plank
WALDORF, Md. - Lawrence Ellwood Plank, 65, of 905 Waddell Road, died Friday, Nov. 5, 1999, at Washington Hospital Center, Washington, D.C.
Born Sept. 21, 1934, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Howard and Ruth Plank.
He was employed with Wilson and Epes Printing as a printer.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Maria Plank; two daughters, Kim Dziergowski of Lusby, Md., and Lisa Plank of Mechanicsville, Md.; two sons, Michael Balenger and Damien Plank, both of Waldorf; one brother, Pete Plank of Hagerstown; one sister, Dolores Weaver of Hagerstown and five grandchildren.
Services will be today at noon at Peters Church, Waldorf. The Rev. Penington will officiate. Burial will be in St. Peters Cemetery, Waldorf.
The family will receive friends today from 10 a.m. to noon at the church.
Mary C. Powell
WOLFSVILLE, Md. - Mary Catherine Powell, 85, of Wolfsville, died Saturday, Nov. 6, 1999, at University of Maryland Hospital, Baltimore.
Born Dec. 12, 1913, in Wolfsville, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Estella Lewis Powell. She was raised by Claude Stottlemyer after her parents died when she was a child.
She was a member of Grossnickle Church of the Brethren, Myersville, Md.
She was a dairy farmer and raised poultry and flowers.
She is survived by Quayton and Dorothy Stottlemyer of Wilmington, Del., many cousins and her caretakers Cathy Wolfe and Ruth Winfield, both of Wolfsville.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Leo Powell.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Salem United Methodist Church, Wolfsville. The Rev. Randall Reid will officiate. Burial will be in Salem United Methodist Cemetery, Wolfsville.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Charlotte R. Wolfe
GREENSBURG - Charlotte R. "Sharpie" Wolfe, 64, of Sandstone Drive, died Saturday, Nov. 6, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
Born July 23, 1935, in Pleasant Valley near Smithsburg, she was the daughter of the late Jesse and Bertha I. Smith Warner.
She was employed at Hadley Farms, Smithsburg.
She was a member of Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church, Smithsburg and she attended Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, Sabillasville.
She is survived by her husband, Howard G. Wolfe; one daughter, Annette K. Wivell of Smithsburg; two sons, C. Wayne Wolfe of Greensburg and Michael G. Wolfe of Hagerstown; five sisters, Hilda Brandenburg, Louise Johnston and Thelma Hockensmith, all of Hagerstown, Carolyn Delauter and Sharon King, both of Arkansas; one brother, Harold Warner of Greensburg and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Glenn Warner Sr., Jesse E. Warner and George Warner.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Davis Funeral Home, Smithsburg. The Rev. Tony Hardcastle will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Smithsburg.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 at the funeral home.

Helen L. Curfman
Helen Lee Curfman, 96, formerly of Potomac Ave., Hagerstown, died Friday, Nov. 5, 1999, at Coffman Nursing Home, Hagerstown.
Born June 24, 1903, in Williamsport, she was the daughter of the late Charles Lee and Annie Cecelia McCardell Curfman.
She was a 1924 graduate of Towson Normal School.
She taught school at Antietam Street Elementary School, Hagerstown, retiring in 1966.
She was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, where she served as a Sunday School teacher, sang in the choir, was a member of the church council and several committees.
She was a member of Retired Teachers Association, Maryland State Teachers Association, National Education Association and a Red Cross volunteer.
She is survived by several cousins.
Memorial services will be held Tuesday at 4 p.m. at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 35 W. Potomac St., Williamsport. The Rev. W. Gregory Martin will officiate. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Williamsport, Tuesday at 3:30 p.m.
There will be no public viewing.

Glenna R. Hajek
BALTIMORE, Md. - Glenna Ruth Hajek, 63, of 1801 Wentworth Road, died Saturday, Nov. 6, 1999, at Good Samaritan Hospital, Baltimore.
Born Dec. 5, 1935, in Petersburg, W.Va., she was the daughter of Hubert C. Smith of Hagerstown and the late Ruth Ketterman Smith.
She was a 1954 graduate of Hagerstown High School and a 1956 graduate of Maryland Medical Secretarial School and a 1987 graduate of Hagerstown Junior College.
She was retired from Maryland Correctional Training Center, Hagerstown.
She was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church.
She was active in Potomac Playmakers.
In addition to her father, she is survived by two sons, Michael Hajek of Elk Ridge, Md. and Bradley Hajek of Littlestown, Pa. and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Stephen D. Robison will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
