Dorothy M. Darr
Dorothy Manon Darr, 89, of 11 W. Baltimore St., Hagerstown, died Sunday, Oct. 31, 1999, at Coffman Nursing Home.
Born Dec. 3, 1909, in Sharpsburg, she was the daughter of the late Martin Luther and Anna E. Bowers Drenner.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Grover Darr, in 1984.
She worked as a seamstress; and was employed by Fairchild Industries.
She was a member of Hagerstown Bible Church.
She is survived by one sister, Joy Heil of Hagerstown; and nieces and nephews.
Graveside services and burial will be held at the convenience of the family. The Rev. Dale R. Carver will officiate.

Mary C. Summers
Mary Charles Summers, 74, of 17215 Reiff Church Road, Hagerstown, died Saturday, Oct. 30, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
Born May 21, 1925, in Greenville, S.C., she was the daughter of the late Boyce James Nix and Vera Edith Lineberger Nix Campbell.
She was formerly employed by Summers Appliance and TV Sales.
She is survived by her husband, Alfred E. Summers; three stepdaughters, Jane Staley and Peggy Dieter Storm of Hagerstown, and Doris Dawson of Sharpsburg; one stepson, Ray Summers of Oregon; one brother, Boyce James Nix of Gettysburg, Pa.; six step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Services will be Thusday at 2:30 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Fred Craver will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m.

Anna K. Hill
Anna Kathryn Hill, 79, a resident of Ravenwood Lutheran Village, Hagerstown, died Sunday, Oct. 31, 1999, at the nursing home.
Born Nov. 11, 1919, in Big Pool, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Maude Clark Purnell.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marlin George Hill, in 1986.
She was a member of Suburban Bowling League, Halfway, for many years.
She is survived by one daughter, Donna M. Wieland of Williamsport; one son, Dennis M. Hill of Hagerstown, one sister, Leona Floyd of Frederick, Md.; one brother, Frederick Purnell of Frederick; two grandsons; one great-grandson and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown; The Rev. Carroll Boyer will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Wednesday one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.

Marvin W. Smith
Marvin W. "Syke" Smith, 90, of 12 S. Walnut St., Hagerstown, died Sunday, Oct. 31, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
Born July 24, 1909, in Washington County, he was the son of the late Hiram Lee and Margaret Lee Sly Smith.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Leoanita Dofflemyer Smith.
He was retired from Sunshine Biscuit Company.
He was a member of Sports Hall of Fame of Washington County.
He is survived by one daughter, Shirley Hayes of Smithsburg; one son, Jay Smith of Funkstown; two stepsons, Ted Dofflemyer of Gaithersburg, Md. and Wayne Dofflemyer of Florida; two grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Jennifer Holton Domer and three brothers, Abraham Smith, Isaac Smith and Joseph Smith.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 3 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. William C. Kerchecal will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends this evening from 7 to 9 at the funeral home.
Carl L. Baker
Carl Leon Baker, 48, of 312 E. Franklin St., Hagerstown, died Saturday, Oct. 30, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Sept. 22, 1951, in Washington County, he was the son of the late Jack Leon and Carlene Wilkinson Baker.
He was employed with Ames Department Store and Dual Highway Car Wash.
He is survived by one sister, Anna Marie Yost of Clear Spring; three nieces, Jamie Grant of Hagerstown, Katie Yost of Clear Spring and Wendy Yost of Hancock; one nephew, Wayne Yost of Hagerstown and numerous cousins, aunts, uncles and several great-nieces.
Memorial services will be held Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Louis L. Emerick will officiate. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

Helen R. Holsinger
MAUGANSVILLE - Helen R. Holsinger, 90, of 13737 Village Mill Drive, died Sunday, Oct. 31, 1999, at Homewood Retirement Center in Williamsport.
Born Oct. 1, 1909, in Washington Township, Franklin County, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Harry F. and Nellie G. Bachtell Biesecker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, L. Elwood Holsinger, in 1971.
Prior to her retirement, she worked with her son at Holsinger's Meat Market in Maugansville. She was a graduate nurse from Roanoke Hospital and worked in hospitals in Roanoke, Va., Waynesboro, Pa. and Hagerstown.
She was a member of Christ's Reformed Church in Hagerstown.
She was a member of A.A.R.P.
She is survived by two daughters, Mary Ellen Snyder of Cearfoss and Judy A. Eshleman of Maugansville; one son, Robert E. Holsinger, Sr. of Maugansville; one sister, Arlene E. Hardman of Quincy, Pa. and one brother, M. Richard Biesecker of Waynesboro; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac St., Hagerstown. The Rev. Willard F. Rahn and the Rev. R. Stevenson will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m.
