Lee F. Spitzer
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - The Rev. Lee F. Spitzer, 92, of Corpus Christi, has died.
He was born March 12, 1907.
He was an ordained minister and elder in the Church of the Brethren for more than 45 years. He was a pastor to churches in six Southwestern states.
He served in World War II as a merchant seaman.
He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Elsie Hager Spitzer; two daughters, Joan Gould of Sarasota, Fla., and Jerri Roberts of Corpus Christi; two sons, Howard Spitzer of Corpus Christi and Terry Spitzer of Kalona, Iowa; two sisters, Grace Spitzer of Hagerstown and Joyce Knauff of Ohio; one brother, Carroll Spitzer of Hagerstown; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Earl L. Spitzer; his parents; one sister and two brothers.
Services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Parkside Church of God, Corpus Christi. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Corpus Christi.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Memory Gardens Funeral Home, Corpus Christi.
Fannie P. Kauffman
KEEDYSVILLE - Fannie P. Kauffman, 89, of 6212 Kauffman Farm Road, died Monday, Oct. 4, 1999, at Avalon Manor Nursing Home.
Born May 16, 1910, in Charles Town, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late James H. and Mary Ellen Nichols Dodson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren E. Kauffman, in 1976.
She was a member of First Church of God, 1015 Rose Hill Ave., and Women's Christian Service Committee.
She is survived by one son, Howard Clark of Frederick, Md.; two sisters, Eva Diehl of Ormand Beach, Fla., and Christina Markle of Crystal River, Fla.; four brothers, Elmer Dodson and Walter Dodson, both of Hagerstown, Mitchell Dodson of Greencastle, Pa., and Jessie Dodson of Ormand Beach; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Ottie Ann Clark; two sons, Johnnie Clark and Sammy Clark; four sisters and three brothers.
Graveside services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown. The Rev. Herbert F. Myers will officiate.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac St., Hagerstown.
Kenneth H. Trumble
Kenneth H. Trumble, 90, formerly of Tropicana Drive, Hagerstown, died Monday, Oct. 4, 1999, at Avalon Manor Health Care Center, Hagerstown.
Born July 28, 1909, in Jackson, Mich., he was the son of the late William and Augusta Cheney Trumble.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Esther L. Trumble, in 1986.
He was owner/operator of Retail Grocery Store.
He was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church, Hagerstown.
He was a member of Masonic Order.
He is survived by a daughter, Barbara A. Ziegler of Hagerstown; one son, Donald J. Trumble of Hagerstown; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be Thursday at 3 p.m. at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 11833 Greenhill Drive, Hagerstown. The Rev. George Evans will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 5 Public Square, Hagerstown, MD 21740.

Robert R. Rutherford Jr.
Robert Roy Rutherford Jr., 23, of 660 N. Prospect St., Hagerstown, died Wednesday, Sept. 8, 1999 in Paris, Ark.
Born July 24, 1976, in Frederick, Md., he was the son of Marjorie Sines Rutherford of Gaithersburg, Md. and the late Robert R. Rutherford.
He is survived by one daughter, Jade Larissa Wilson of Hagerstown; one sister, Diane K. Stambaugh of Hagerstown; four brothers, Curtis Wayne Sines, Lester Edward Stambaugh, Charles Richard Stambaugh and Joseph Matthew Rutherford, all of Hagerstown; five nieces and five nephews.
Memorial services will be held Thursday at 6 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Dennis Whitmore will officiate. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
There will be no viewing.
Julia L. Schindel
Julia Louise Schindel, 54, of 18806 Eliason Way, Hagerstown, died Monday, Oct. 4, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Jan. 27, 1945, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Melvin Shipley and Helen Bryan Rickett.
She is survived by her husband, David R. Schindel; one sister, Mary Ann Price of Hagerstown; seven brothers, Ralph Rickett Jr., Edward Rickett, Robert Rickett, Kenneth Rickett, Terry Rickett and John Rickett, all of Hagerstown, and Tom Rickett of Baltimore; nieces, nephews and an aunt.
She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Ralph Rickett; and a sister, Betty Jones.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Herman Fisler will officiate. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

Mabel I. Sigler
Mabel Irene Sigler, 81, of 752 W. Washington St., Hagerstown, died Sunday, Oct. 3, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Sept. 2, 1918, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Jonathan Arthur and Mary Elmeda Rager Monninger.
Her husband, George Henry Sigler Jr., died in 1977.
She retired from Hagerstown Shoe Co. after 38 years.
She was a member of First Brethren Church.
She is survived by one half sister, Vivian Bishop of Hagerstown; one half brother, Robert Monninger of Smithsburg; nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Viola Mae Pepple; four brothers, Clarence Monninger, Albert Monninger, Roy Monninger and Raymond Monninger Sr.; one half brother, Larry Monninger.
Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Bruce Foster will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 6 to 9 p.m.
Nellie A. Jordan
BOONSBORO - Nellie Alberta Jordan, 78, of 7130 Wheeler Road, and formerly of Hudson Falls, N.Y., died Sunday, Oct. 3, 1999, at Julia Manor Health Care Center in Hagerstown.
Born Sept. 14, 1921, in Saratoga, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Henry and Marguerite Griffin.
She retired from Lewis Supermarket in Hudson Falls in 1980.
She was a member of Christian Holiness Church in Gapland, Md.
She is survived by one daughter, Mary R. Palmer of Boonsboro; four sisters, Marjorie Howe and Lorraine Gordon, both of Hudson Falls, June Hallenback of Scotia, N.Y., and Elsie Bowman of Lake George, N.Y.; one brother, Elmer Griffin of Peoria, Ill.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A Home Going Service will be Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Zion Assembly of God in Maugansville. The Rev. Joseph Quesenberry will officiate. Burial will be today at 10:30 a.m. in Boonsboro Cemetery.
There will be no viewing or visitation.
