Theodore W. Miller
NORTH CHARLESTON, N.C. - Theodore William Miller, 86, of North Charleston, died Friday, Sept. 24, 1999, at his home.
Born Nov. 28, 1912, in Williamsport, he was the son of the late Elijak and Lydia Miller Miller.
He was a retired crane operator and treater with Koppers Co.
He is survived by his wife, Frances M. St. Clair Miller of North Charleston; two daughters, Suellen Sims of Springfield, Mo., and Nancy Lee Smith of Hagerstown; a son, Carl Michael Miller of North Charleston; a half sister, Ruth Wiley of Williamsport; nine grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Services and burial will be private.

Thomas L. Rogers
KEEDYSVILLE - Thomas Lee Rogers, 38, of 3150 Hawks Hill Lane died Saturday, Sept. 18, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Nov. 19, 1960, in Charles Town, W.Va., he was the son of the late William Benjamin and Gladys Ruth Darr Rogers.
He had been employed by CSX Transportation in Brunswick, Md.
He was a member of Ocean Rovers Scuba Diving Club in Frederick, Md., and Brunswick Eagles Arie No. 1136.
He is survived by his fiancee, Laura M. Trainor; a sister, Ramona Linton of Newport News, Va.; a half sister, Susan Winters of Shepherdstown, W.Va.; and a brother, William Rogers of Harpers Ferry, W.Va.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Mary "Nanny" Darr.
Memorial services will be announced at a later date.

W. Riley Daniels III
CAMPBELL, Calif. - W. Riley Daniels III, 68, of 2415 Eva Court, died Wednesday, Sept. 22, 1999, at his home.
Born Jan. 3, 1931, in West Palm Beach, Fla., he was the son of the late W. R. and Martha Moller Daniels II.
He was self-employed as a director of marketing and consulting.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1950 to 1953.
He is survived by seven sons, W. Riley Daniels IV of Naperville, Ill., Thomas R. Daniels of Amherst, Mass., William F. Daniels of Pottsboro, Texas, Jonathan M. Daniels of Mendham, N.J., James C. Daniels of Grapevine, Texas, Peter F. Daniels of Okema, Okla. and M. Christian Daniels of San Jose, Calif.; a brother, Peter M. Daniels of Marion, Pa.; and 12 grandchildren.
Services will be Monday at 10 a.m. at Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac St., Hagerstown. The Rev. Edward H. Heim will officiate.
Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
J. William Helmer Jr.
J. William Helmer Jr., 59, of 1150 Kenley Ave., Hagerstown, died at his home.
Born April 9, 1940, in Washington D.C., he was the son of the late John W. and Marian V. Shipp Helmer Sr.
He retired from Potomac Edison.
He is survived by a daughter, Mary Ellen S. Fowler of Ranson, W.Va.; a son, J. William Helmer III of Sellersville, Pa.; and a grandchild.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at a later date at St. Mary's Catholic Church.

C. Beatrice Kelly
FREDERICK, Md. - C. Beatrice Kelly, 92, of Homewood Retirement Center, died Thursday, Sept. 23, 1999, at Homewood.
Born Dec. 19, 1906, in Thurmont, Md., she was the daughter of the late Daniel W. and Effie Lohr Zentz.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Clyde O. Koons; and by her second husband, Clifford Kelly.
She was a graduate of Saint Joseph's High School in Emmitsburg, Md.
She was a secretary and homemaker.
She was a member of Evangelical Lutheran Church in Frederick.
She is survived by a son, Dr. Donald Z. Koons of Frederick; a stepdaughter, Barbara Kline of Baltimore; two stepsons, John Kelly of Smithsburg and Bernald Kelly of Seattle, Wash.; two grandsons; four step-granddaughters; three step-grandsons; four great-grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren; and nieces.
Private services will be in Blue Ridge Cemetery, Thurmont.

Ruth M. Hines
BRUNSWICK, Md. - Ruth Marguerite Hines, 80, of 1100 Peach Orchard Drive, died Wednesday, Sept. 22, 1999, at Frederick Memorial Hospital in Frederick, Md.
Born Aug. 25, 1919, in Knoxville, Md., she was the daughter of the late Everett Thomas and Mary Edwina Meehan Jones.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gorman Luther Hines Sr., in 1954.
She was a member of Brownsville Church of the Brethren.
She was a member of Ladies Auxiliary of Steadman-Keenan American Legion Post No. 96 in Brunswick.
She is survived by three daughters, Patricia A. Dixon and Darlene Minnick, both of Knoxville, and Gloria Moore of Brunswick; a son, Gorman L. Hines Jr. of Frederick; a brother, Samuel Jones of Knoxville; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Elsie Potter and Mildred Jones; and two brothers, Everett Jones and John Jones.
Services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Brownsville Church of the Brethren. The Rev. Duane Strickler will officiate. Burial will be in Old Brethren cemetery in Brownsville.
The family will receive friends today from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at John T. Williams Funeral Home, 100 Petersville Road, Brunswick. The funeral home will be open today from 9 a.m.

Blair R. Schaefer
WILLIAMSPORT - Blair R. Schaefer, 84, of Homewood, and formerly of Pittsburgh, died Wednesday, Sept. 22, 1999, at his home in Homewood.
He retired in 1977 from the Cost and Pricing Department after 42 years as an employee of H.J. Heinz Co. in Pittsburgh.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He was a trustee for First Presbyterian Church of West View, Pa.
He was on the North Hills School Board and the Board of Health in West View, near Pittsburgh.
He was a member of Hagerstown Users Group computer club; and the Masons.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Laura Mae Schaefer; two daughters, Katie Gardner of Hagerstown and Ruth Gobel of Havertown, Pa.; and three grandchildren.
A memorial service will be Friday, Oct. 1, at 7 p.m. in the chapel at Homewood Retirement Center, Williamsport.
