KEEDYSVILLE - Thomas Lee Rogers, 38, of 3150 Hawks Hill Lane, died Saturday, Sept. 18, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Nov. 19, 1960, in Charles Town, W.Va., he was the son of the late William Benjamin and Gladys Ruth Darr Rogers.
He had been employed by CSX Transportation in Brunswick, Md.
He was a member of Ocean Rovers Scuba Diving Club in Frederick, Md.; and Brunswick Eagles Arie No. 1136.
He is survived by his fiancee, Laura M. Trainor; a sister, Ramona Linton of Newport News, Va.; a half sister, Susan Winters of Shepherdstown, W.Va.; and a brother, William Rogers of Harpers Ferry, W.Va.
Memorial services will be announced at a later date.

Genevieve Leonard
Genevieve Leonard, 82, of Hagerstown, died Thursday, Sept. 23, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
Born April 28, 1917, in Biloxi, Miss., she was the daughter of the late George and Clemonce Mikoul Petro.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Sanford Leonard.
She retired from Montgomery Wards in Hagerstown.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hagerstown.
She is survived by two daughters, Kathleen S. Faries of Sarasota, Fla., and Karen L. Caron of Waynesboro, Pa.; a granddaughter, Katie Braun of Sarasota; and a grandson, Matthew Caron of Waynesboro.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Park; and a brother, George Petro.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 226 W. Washington St., Hagerstown. The Revs. George A. Limmer and Thomas Hemler will be celebrants. Burial will be in Rest Haven cemetery in Hagerstown.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown.

Edna V. Watkins
FREDERICK, Md. - Edna V. Watkins, 83, of 221 E. Fourth St., died Wednesday, Sept. 22, 1999, at her home.
Born Feb. 8, 1916, in Frederick County, Md., she was the daughter of the late C. Herbert and Ivia Snyder Watkins.
She retired from Price Electric Co. in Frederick.
She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church of Frederick.
She was a member of the auxiliary of Citizens Nursing Home of Frederick County; Pythian Sisters; and Samaritan Rebekah Lodge No. 51 of Frederick, where she was past noble grand and was currently conductor. She was treasurer of the Past Noble Grands.
She is survived by a nephew, Gary Wayne Watkins of Smithsburg; and a great-nephew.
Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick. The Rev. Harold Bell Wright II will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Olivet cemetery in Frederick.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home, which will be open today from 3 p.m.
Charles W. Cooper
Charles William Cooper, 71, of Hagerstown, died Tuesday, Sept. 21, 1999, at his home.
Born Sept. 22, 1927, in Algoma, W.Va., he was the son of the late Charlie and Ellen Holley Cooper.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Retha Z. Cooper, in 1980.
He is survived by a daughter, Retha Gail Farris of Hagerstown; three sons, Charles Wayne Cooper of Sharpsburg, Tommy Darrell Cooper of Columbia, S.C., and Barry Dean Cooper of Hagerstown; a sister, Frances Harris of Florida; two brothers, Pat Cooper of Cleveland, Ohio, and Carmen Cooper of Mathews, N.C.; five granddaughters; and a step-grandson.
Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Henry A. Lutz will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.

William E. Beitler
WILLIAMSPORT - William Ellsworth "Billy" Beitler, 71, of 10720 Bower Ave., died Tuesday, Sept. 21, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
Born May 28, 1928, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Samuel Lester and Helen Blanch Conrad Beitler.
He was a member of Mount Calvary Church of God in Clear Spring.
He is survived by a sister, Helen J. Beasley, with whom he resided; three brothers, Samuel Conrad Beitler and Harry Allen Beitler, both of Hagerstown and Robert Lee Beitler of Downsville; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Catherine Beaver.
Graveside services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Rest Haven Cemetery, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown. The Rev. Robert Timmons will officiate.
Friends may call today from 9 to 5 p.m. at Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport.

Robert C. Davis Jr.
FUNKSTOWN - Robert Carol "Boog" Davis Jr., 48, of 16 West Side Ave., died Tuesday, Sept. 21, 1999, at the Veteran's Affairs Medical Center in Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born Oct. 14, 1950, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Robert Carol and Alice Etta Grove Davis Sr.
He was a 1968 graduate of South Hagerstown High School.
He was a professional entertainer with the Shriner's Circus.
He was a Protestant.
He is survived by two sisters, Dorothy M. Taylor of Leitersburg and Carol Ann Davis of Hagerstown; three brothers, Glenn E. Davis, William E. Davis and Jeffrey A. Davis, all of Hagerstown; nieces; nephews; and special friend, Billy Barton of Greencastle, Pa.
A memorial service will be held Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Boulevard North, Hagerstown. The Rev. Robert L. Griffin will officiate.
The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Louyse E. Falkenstein
MYERSVILLE, Md. - Louyse E. Falkenstein, 77, of Errenalou Meadows farm, Myersville, died Tuesday, Sept. 21, 1999, at her home.
Born May 23, 1922, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Reno L. and Erma C. Routzahn Eldridge.
She graduated from Frostburg State Teachers College and was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma.
She taught elementary school in Hyattsville, Md., Myersville and Parkway, retiring in 1985 after 31 years of teaching. She volunteered at Lewistown, Wolfsville and Myersville elementary schools.
She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Myersville, was a choir member, and Sunday school teacher in the primary department.
She was a member of Myersville Homemakers and Myersville PTA.
She is survived by her husband, J. Edward Falkenstein; one daughter, Kathy Lesser of Frederick, Md.; one son, Ed Falkenstein of Charleston, S.C.; and two grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Friday at 7 p.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Main Street, Myersville. The Rev. David Howell will officiate.
