Marilyn M. Needy
NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla. - Marilyn Mae Needy, 76, of 206 Days Lane, and formerly of 1717 Virginia Ave., Hagerstown, died Saturday, Jan. 2, 1999, at Hope Hospice House in Lee County, Fla.
Born Oct. 7, 1922, in Loys Station, Md., she was the daughter of the late Paul Foster and Hilda Mae Wastler Fleagle.
She graduated from Hagerstown High School in 1940, and Hagerstown Business College in 1941.
She was a former teacher at Hagerstown Business College/Maryland Medical Secretary School; and an executive secretary at Boeing in Philadelphia.
She was a former member of St. Paul's Evangelical United Brethren Church in Hagerstown, and was a Sunday school teacher. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in North Fort Myers, a member of the Mary Martha Ladies Circle, Praise Choir, and president of the United Methodist Women of the church.
She sang with the Village Singers of Lazy Days Mobile Home Park.
She is survived by her husband, C. Edward Needy Jr.; one daughter, Lynne M. Needy-Weltzin of Elko, Nev.; two sons, Lawrence R. Needy and Kenneth L. Needy, both of Hagerstown; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Foster Fleagle Jr.
A memorial service will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. at Bast Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro. The Rev. Ron Kurtz will officiate. Private burial will be in Boonsboro Cemetery.
There will be no viewing or visitation.
Charles E. Hutzell
FAIRPLAY - Charles E. "Bub" Hutzell, 59, of 17705 Lappans Road, died Monday, Sept. 20, 1999, at his home.
Born Aug. 24, 1940, in Boonsboro, he was the son of Gladys Long Hutzell of Boonsboro and the late Roscoe Hutzell.
He was a 1958 graduate of Boonsboro High School.
He was employed by Washington County Roads Department Southern Section, retiring July 1, 1999.
He was a member of St. James Brethren Church.
He was a member of Boonsboro Redmen; and District 12 Ruritan Club.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 19 years, Rebecca M. Hutzell; a stepdaughter, Brenda L. Bowman of Boonsboro; a stepson, Michael E. Crawford of Falling Waters, W.Va.; two brothers, Donald Hutzell of Hagerstown and Roscoe Hutzell of Frederick, Md.; and five grandchildren.
A memorial service will be Friday at 11:30 a.m. at St. James Brethren Church, Fairplay. The Rev. Brian H. Moore will officiate.
Burial will be held at the convenience of the family in Boonsboro Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown.

John T. Wise
John T. Wise, 83, of 241 S. Prospect St., Hagerstown, died Monday, Sept. 20, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Sept. 17, 1916, at Dam No. 4, he was the son of the late Harry Hubert and Pearl Edith Churchy Wise.
He was a farmer.
He is survived by a niece and a nephew.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Pearl Eichelberger; and a half brother, June Ricketts.
Services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac St., Hagerstown. The Rev. J. Norman Mayer will officiate. Burial will be in Benevola Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday from 9:30 to 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
Robert C. Triesler Jr.
DOVER, Del. - Robert Charles Triesler Jr., 76, of Dover, died Monday, Sept. 20, 1999, at Kent General Hospital in Dover.
He was born Dec. 23, 1922, in Hagerstown.
He was a 1941 graduate of Hagerstown High School.
He retired in 1988 from the Delaware Division of the Federal Highway Administration, as financial manager.
During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army Air Corps in the China-Burma-India theater.
He was an elder at St. John's Lutheran Church of Dover. At Presbyterian Church of Dover he was treasurer for 10 years.
He was active in the Boy Scouts of America for more than 55 years, and was an instructor in Wood Badge. He was Two Bays District Training Chairman and received the Silver Beaver Award.
He was a member of Dover Elks Lodge.
He is survived by his wife, Bobbi Baechtel Triesler, whom he married
April 4, 1944; a daughter, Donna Weidler of Georgia; two sons, Air Force Lt. Kim Triesler, stationed at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio and Bill Triesler of Dover; two sisters, Catherine Koerner of Hagerstown and Dorothy Schlosser of Waynesboro, Pa.; a brother, Richard Triesler of Matthews, N.C.; four grandchildren; nieces; nephews; grandnieces and grandnephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Robert C. Triesler III.
Burial and service will be private at the convenience of the family.
The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Trader Funeral Home, 12 Lotus St., Dover.

Nora V. Snyder
CLEAR SPRING - Nora Virginia Snyder, 94, of 12527 National Pike, died Monday, Sept. 20, 1999, at Homewood Nursing Home in Williamsport.
She is survived by six nieces, Jean Frances Rowe and Lillie Virginia Davenport, both of Clear Spring; Mary Margaret Fiery, of Emmitsburg, Md., Betty Jane Lee of Mercersburg, Pa., Florence Carr and Lillie Beattie, both of Pittsburgh.
Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at St. John's United Church of Christ.

Cortland V. Sperry
Cortland Victor "Vic" Sperry, 64, of 901 Pope Ave., Hagerstown, died Sunday, Sept. 19, 1999, at his home.
Born Nov. 20, 1934, in Clarksburg, W.Va., he was the son of the late Ernest Cortland and Juanita McClung Sperry.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rena Sperry, in 1998.
He was employed by AMVETS Post 10.
He served in the U.S. Army and the Maryland National Guard.
He was a member and vice commander of AMVETS Post 10.
He is survived by two daughters, Patricia Comianos of Marion, Ohio, and Valerie Barbeito of Myersville, Md.; two sons, Steven Sperry of Abingdon, Va., and Mark Sperry of Rochester, N.Y.; one brother, Dave Sperry of Baltimore; one half brother, Jack Pitts of Bridgeport, W.Va.; 12 grandchildren; and stepmother, Gladys Sperry of Bridgeport.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 226 W. Washington St., Hagerstown. The Rev. George A. Limmer will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill cemetery with military honors by AMVETS Post 10.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown.
