Paul D. Farrar Jr.
Paul David Farrar Jr., 26, of 20 E. Washington St., Hagerstown, died Saturday, Aug. 14, 1999, at Harden County Hospital in Savannah, Tenn.
Born May 3, 1973, in Charles Town, W.Va., he was the son of Debra Kay Holmes Farrar Beavers of Hagerstown and Paul David Farrar Sr.
He attended South Hagerstown High School.
He was a self-employed carpenter.
He attended Church of God.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by two brothers, Michael E. Farrar and Damion L. Farrar, both of Hagerstown; two nieces; and his paternal step-grandmother, Viola Beavers of Martinsburg, W.Va.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Lillian V. and Cleveland G. Holmes; and paternal grandparents, Gertrude L. and John Leopold.
A memorial service will be held Thursday at 7 p.m. at Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, 40 E. Antietam St., Hagerstown. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 to 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Virginia M. Hamburg
Virginia May Hamburg, 90, of 20017 Gilbert Hills Drive, Hagerstown, died Monday, Sept. 6, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
Born May 5, 1909, in Washington County, she was the daughter of the late Joseph F. and Mary Ellen Hornbaker Sensenbaugh.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Hamburg, in 1982.
She was a member of St. James Brethren Church.
She was a member of AARP; and a former member of Pocahontas Tribe of Williamsport.
She is survived by nieces, Imogene Neff of Fairplay and Dixie Sandburg, Mary Ellen Pryor and Linda Everhart, all of Hagerstown; nephews, Richard Lynch and Edgar Rachor III, both of Hagerstown, and Thomas Sensenbaugh of Florida; great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.
Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Brian H. Moore will officiate. Burial will be in Smithsburg Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mary E. Kindle
SMITHSBURG - Mary E. Kindle, 72, of West Water Street, died Monday, Sept. 6, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
Born April 1, 1927, in Rouzerville, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Roy N. and Mary Tracy Swope.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry W. Kindle, in 1996.
She was employed by Dorbee's Dress Factory in Hagerstown; Double Day Co. in Smithsburg; and Landis Machine Co. in Waynesboro, Pa.
She is survived by two daughters, Janet L. Wallech of Maugansville and Judy A. Smith of Smithsburg; a son, Bobby L. Kindle of Hagerstown; three sisters, Frances Stuckey of Waynesboro, Pearl Harbaugh of Hagerstown and Betty Fahrney of Boonsboro; three brothers, George Swope of Quincy, Pa., Mitchell Swope of Hagerstown and Roy Swope Jr. of Rouzerville, Pa.; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Davis Funeral Home, Smithsburg. Pastor Don Conley will officiate. Burial will be in Ringgold Cemetery.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mary Lou C. Welch
POINT OF ROCKS, Md. - Mary Lou Conner Welch, 71, of 3896 Gibbons Road, died Monday, Sept. 6, 1999, at her home.
Born Oct. 4, 1927, in Frederick, Md., she was the daughter of the late Doll Garland and Ruth Violet Taylor Conner.
She retired as a custodian from Loudoun County School Board.
She was a member of Point of Rocks Assembly of God Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Ruth Deeds of Point of Rocks; two sons, Steven M. Welch of Brunswick, Md., and David G. Welch of Point of Rocks, and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, David Conner.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at John T. Williams Funeral Home, 100 Petersville Road, Brunswick. The Rev. William R. Davis will officiate. Burial will be in Park Heights cemetery in Brunswick.
The family will receive friends today from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home, which will be open from 9 a.m.
Edythe A. Rose
Edythe Anne Boyd Rose, 85, of 9946 Downsville Pike, Hagerstown, and formerly of Milestone Garden Apartments, Williamsport, died Tuesday, Sept. 7, 1999, at Clearview Nursing Home in Hagerstown.
Born Aug. 3, 1914, in Birkenhead, England, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Henry and Elizabeth McCluney Boyd.
She was employed by the United States Information Agency.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Hagerstown.
She is survived by two sisters, Elizabeth LeMasurier of Palm City, Fla., and Jean Stover of Waynesboro, Pa.; and a brother, Thomas H. Boyd of Hagerstown.
She was preceded in death by a niece.
Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown. The Rev. Scott D. Mulhollen will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven cemetery in Hagerstown.

Austin L. Kuhn
SMITHSBURG - Austin L. Kuhn, 86, of Garfield Road, died Tuesday, Sept. 7, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Jan. 22, 1913, in Garfield, Md., he was the son of the late Charles Elmer and Annie Mae Lewis Kuhn.
He worked as a farmer for 10 years for John Cline. He then worked for Green and Dailey Construction in Hagerstown; and for Buzz Baer Contractor.
A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Army.
He was a member of Salem United Methodist Church in Wolfsville.
He was a member of American Legion Post No. 211 in Funkstown; and a past member of N.R.A.
He is survived by three sisters, Rosa Kline of Wolfsville, Ethel Wolfe of Smithsburg and Mabel Jenkins of Culpeper, Va.; and a brother, David Kuhn of Hagerstown.
He was preceded in death by a sister; and a brother.
Services will be Friday at 10 a.m. at Salem United Methodist Church in Wolfsville. Pastor Randy Reid will officiate. Burial will be in Garfield United Methodist Cemetery.
