Dorothy N. Damm
WYLAND, Mass. - Dorothy N. Newberrey Damm, 86, of Wayland, and formerly of Hagerstown, died Friday, Sept. 3, 1999, at her home.
Born Aug. 28, 1913, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late William and Hilda Shipley Newberrey.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George M. Damm in 1997, whom she married
in 1983 following the death of her previous husband, Robert D. Hoffman in 1979.
She was a jewelry buyer for the former S. Kirk and Son in Baltimore. She was a realtor with Century 21 in Hagerstown.
She was a member of Antietam Garden Club and helped with the original restoration of the herb gardens at Hager House.
She is survived by a daughter, Barbara A. Chenoweth of Arlington, Mass.; two grandchildren, Dana L. Dorf of Milwaukee, Wis. and Bryan P. McCullough of Manila, Philippines; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church, 141 S. Potomac St., Hagerstown. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown.
Memorial donations may be made in her memory to Alzheimer's Association of Eastern Massachusetts, 36 Cameron Ave., Cambridge, MA 02140-1102.

Debra A. Black
Debra Ann Black, 45, of 216 W. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, died Friday, Sept. 3, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Feb. 27, 1954, in Sharpsburg, she was the daughter of Ronald H. and Patsy Lee Churchey Milburn of Sharpsburg.
She was a 1972 graduate of Boonsboro High School and Vocational-Technical Cosmetology Class.
She had been employed, prior to her illness, with Rocky Top Wood Preservers Inc. in Hagerstown. She also was a hairdresser.
She was of the Protestant faith.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, R.L. Black Jr. of Hagerstown; a daughter, Ami Allison Carbaugh of Hagerstown; a son, Charles Ellsworth Carbaugh III of Hagerstown; a stepdaughter, Jessica Faye Feather of Hagerstown; a sister, Kathy J. Wood of Martinsburg, W.Va.; a brother, Ronald L. Milburn of Sharpsburg; three grandchildren; and a niece.
Memorial services will be Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport.
The family will receive friends Tuesday one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.

Michael L. Wenner
BRUNSWICK, Md. - Michael Lynn Wenner, 46, of 512 Brunswick St., died Friday, Sept. 3, 1999, at his home.
Born July 10, 1953, in Brunswick, he was the son of Franklin Thomas and Anna Jane Fisher Wenner of Brunswick.
He was a cook at Motel Sleepers in Brunswick.
He attended Trinity Church of God and Grace Episcopal Church, both of Brunswick.
He was an avid pool player at Champion Billiards in Frederick, Md., winning many trophies.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a sister, Ruth Ann Arnold of Frederick; three brothers, Kenny Wenner and David Wenner, both of Brunswick, and Tommy Wenner of Knoxville, Md.; 14 nieces and nephews; and aunts and uncles.
Graveside services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Park Heights cemetery in Brunswick. The Rev. Stephen A. Swift will officiate. Burial will be in Park Heights cemetery in Brunswick.
There will be no visitation.

Mary A. Lohr
Mary Alieta Lohr, 74, formerly of 15119 National Pike, Hagerstown, died Friday, Sept. 3, 1999, at Reeders Nursing Home.
Born Dec. 1, 1924, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Lottie Albert Huyett.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Lohr in 1969.
She is survived by two sisters, Irene Owens of Funkstown and Frances Taylor of Hagerstown; five nieces and nephews; and 12 great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Keller B. Huyett.
Graveside services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Rose Hill Cemetery. The Rev. Patricia Drake will officiate.
The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown.
Alice E. Sauer
Alice Evelyn Sauer, 93, of 121 South Valley Drive, Hagerstown, died Saturday, Sept. 4, 1999, at her home.
Born April 19, 1906, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late George E. and Julia Compton Power.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George F. Sauer in 1952.
She is survived by two daughters, Evelyn Windhaus of Penn Valley, Calif., and Sara Cissin of Linthicum, Md.; two sons, Neal N. Sauer of Arnold, Md., and Vernon R. Sauer of Hagerstown; a brother, Vernon Power of Oregon; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, George B. Sauer.
Graveside services will be Tuesday at noon at Lorraine Park cemetery in Baltimore.
There will be no viewing.

Cheryl L. Stone
Cheryl Lynn Stone, 41, of 953 Mulberry Ave., Hagerstown, died Saturday, Sept. 4, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Feb. 3, 1958, in Martinsburg, W.Va., she was the daughter of Naomi K. Daniels Crowl of Hagerstown and the late John L. Crowl.
She was a 1976 graduate of North Hagerstown High School.
She was employed by Allegany Optical for many years.
She attended St. John's Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her husband, Elmer A. Stone III of Hagerstown; two daughters, Ashley Mae Stone and Katelyn Grace Stone, both at home; two sisters, Ret. Master Sgt. Deborah McKenna of Springfield, Va., and Patricia S. Suder of Hagerstown; and four brothers, John L. Crowl of Hagerstown, Lt. Col. Daniel F. Crowl of Okinawa, Japan, Chief Master Sgt. Ronald W. Crowl of Honolulu and Michael E. Crowl of Martinsburg.
Services will be Tuesday at noon at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North in Hagerstown. The Rev. Edward H. Himes will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven cemetery in Hagerstown.
Visitation will be Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
