Scott D. Stufft
Scott Douglas Stufft, 43, of 1033D Noland Drive, Hagerstown, died Tuesday, Aug. 31, 1999, as a result of an automobile accident on Maryland Route 34 in Sharpsburg.
Born March 25, 1956, in Waynesboro, Pa., he was the son of Delores Ethel Smith Ensminger of Waynesboro and the late Ross Irvin Stufft.
He was employed by West Virginia Outdoor Clothing Co.
He was a member of the Hagerstown Suns Fan Club; a past member of Chambersburg AMVETS; Chambersburg Moose; and Chambersburg Marine Corps League.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Bonnie Marie Stufft; his stepfather, Jack B. Ensminger; a daughter, Laura Lee Jones at home; and a son, Leo Wayne Jones Jr. at home.
Services will be Wednesday, Sept. 8, at 1 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. John W. Schildt will officiate. Burial will in Rest Haven cemetery in Hagerstown.
Friends may call Tuesday, Sept. 7, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Carl T. Norris
HANCOCK - Carl T. Norris, 58, of West High Street, died Wednesday, Sept. 1, 1999, at his home.
Born Oct. 8, 1940, in Cumberland, Md., he was the son of S. Beatrice Bowman Norris of Little Orleans, Md., and the late Donald M. Norris.
He was a 1959 graduate of Flintstone High School.
He was the owner of Norris Building Inc. in Hancock.
He was active in community affairs in Hancock and Little Orleans.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Phyllis E. Seavolt Norris of Little Orleans; a daughter, Valerie Swain of Hancock; two sons, Gregory Norris and Patrick Norris, both of Little Orleans; his companion, Barbara "Bobbi" Smith of Hancock; a sister, Norma Jean VonLevenberger of Tampa, Fla.; eight grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Marvin Norris.
Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Piney Plains United Methodist Church in Little Orleans. The Rev. W. Scott Summers will officiate. Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery.
The family will receive friends today from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 141 W. Main St. in Hancock; and Friday at 10 a.m. at the church. The funeral home will be open today from 11a.m.

Gloria E. Clagett
DERWOOD, Md. - Gloria Elizabeth Clagett, 67, of Derwood, died Sunday, Aug. 29, 1999.
Born Sept. 4, 1931, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of Helen Winters of Hagerstown.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton Roger Clagett III.
She was a graduate of North Hagerstown High School.
She was retired.
She is survived by two daughters, Cheryl D. Keller of Clarksville, Md., and Laura E. Darden of Jamestown, N.C.; a son, H. Todd Clagett of Gaithersburg, Md.; a sister, Janet Carty of Hagerstown; and three grandchildren.
Services will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 16420 S. Westland Drive, Gaithersburg.
Burial will be Friday at 3 p.m. at Rest Haven cemetery in Hagerstown.

Elias B. Hartle
Elias B. Hartle, 84, of 68 Winter St., Hagerstown, died Tuesday, Aug. 31, 1999, at his home.
Born Dec. 19, 1914, in Middleburg, Md., he was the son of the late Stanley W. and Eleanor Barnhart Hartle.
Retiring after 43 years at Fairchild Aircraft, he had worked in the Tool and Die Department.
He was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church.
He was a member of BPO Eagles Lodge No. 694; and North American Rod and Gun Club.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Frances Heiberger Hartle; two daughters, Lee Andrea Brining of Hagerstown and Lou Ellen Koch of Belleville, Ill.; a son, David E. Hartle of Fairplay; two sisters, Yvonne Metcalf of McConnellsburg, Pa., and Ravenel Barnhart of Greencastle, Pa.; a brother, Richard L. Hartle of State Line, Pa.; four grandchildren; two step grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by four sisters, Airetta Leister, Ruth Myers, Beatrice Bonebrake and Gertrude Cullison; and three brothers, Stanley Hartle Jr., Leroy Hartle and Cecil Hartle.
Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac St., Hagerstown. The Rev. Victor Zuck will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.

Alice M. Weller
Alice M. Weller, 90, of 600 1/2 Guilford Ave., died Tuesday, Aug. 31, 1999, at Williamsport Nursing Home in Williamsport.
Born Nov. 26, 1908, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late James Edward and Bessie Virginia Ritter Weller.
She was employed by Maryland Ribbon Co., retiring after 23 years. She previously worked at Interwoven Hosiery.
She was a member of St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, sang in the choir and taught the Mary Ohler Sunday School Class.
She was a patron of the Maryland Theatre.
She is survived by one brother, Milton E. Weller of Hagerstown; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.
Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, 40 E. Antietam St., Hagerstown. The Rev. Travis D. Knoll will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Arlene E. McCurdy
SMITHSBURG - Arlene E. McCurdy, 76, of 12936 Bradbury Ave., died Tuesday, Aug. 31, 1999, at Colton Villa Nursing Center in Hagerstown.
Born July 31, 1923, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Jesse O. and Carrie M. McAllister McCurdy.
She retired from Brandt Cabinet Works. She had worked at Pony Express and Fairchild Aircraft.
A veteran of World War II, she served in the Women's Army Corps for eight years.
She was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church in Hagerstown.
She is survived by her companion, M. Jennie Talhelm; and two nephews, Mark Stiner of York, Pa., and Donald McCurdy of Hollywood, Calif.
Services will be Friday at 1:30 p.m. at Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac St. in Hagerstown. The Rev. Betty D. Jones will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
