Rose E. Nichols
BOONSBORO - Rose Elizabeth Nichols, 89, of Fahrney-Keedy Home, and formerly of Rohrersville, died Monday, Aug. 30, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Dec. 2, 1909, in Sandy Hook, she was the daughter of the late Jesse Vernon and Lydia Mirley Nichols.
She had been employed by Leiter Brothers Department Store; L'Aiglon Apparel Co.; and retired from Dorbee Manufacturing Co., all in Hagerstown.
She was a member of Brownsville Church of the Brethren, was a former adult class Sunday school teacher; member of Golden Rule Fellowship; Board of Administration; and church committees.
She was a member of Fahrney-Keedy Fellowship.
She is survived by two nephews, Dennis E. Nichols of Wrightsville, Pa., and Dean A. Nichols of York, Pa.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Brownsville Church of the Brethren. The Rev. Louis R. Emerick will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View cemetery in Rohrersville.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Bast Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro. Friends may call Thursday at 10 a.m. at the church.

Everett E. Shamburg
BALTIMORE - Everett E. Shamburg, 78, of Baltimore, died Monday, Aug. 30, 1999, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Baltimore.
Born April 3, 1921, in Mount Jackson, Va., he was the son of the late Henry and Rosie Coffman Shamburg.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Gardner Shamburg.
He retired from Bethlehem Steel.
He was a U.S. Army veteran.
He was a member of Dundalk (Md.) Presbyterian Church, and a deacon.
He is survived by two daughters, Pam Madden of Bel Air, Md., and Beverly Shamburg of Dundalk; two sisters, Edna Cain of Oxon Hill, Md., and Emily Huff of Orlando, Fla.; three brothers, Henry Shamburg and Herman Shamburg, both of Martinsburg, W.Va., and Gene Shamburg of Adelphi, Md.; four grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Toni Langston.
Graveside services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Pleasant View Memory Gardens. The Rev. Paul Brown will officiate.
Arrangements are by Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg.
Margaret S. Tabor
Margaret Strine Tabor, 89, formerly of Pete Wiles Road in Middletown, Md., died Monday, Aug. 30, 1999, at Ravenwood Lutheran Village Nursing Care Center in Hagerstown.
Born May 22, 1910, in Carlisle, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Otto Elmer and Edna Householder Strine.
Her husband, the Rev. L. Ralph Tabor, died in 1973. They were married
in 1931.
She was a graduate of John Harris High School in Harrisburg, Pa., and attended Cincinnati Conservatory of Music.
She was involved in the congregational pastorates served by her husband.
She was a member of Evangelical Lutheran Church Zion in Middletown.
She is survived by one daughter, Lois T. Wigton of Allison Park, Pa.; two sons, Christopher A. Tabor of South Burlington, Vt., and R. Michael Tabor of Middletown; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one cousin.
Graveside services will be Friday at 10 a.m. at Evangelical Lutheran Church cemetery Zion in Middletown. The Rev. Donald L. Turley will officiate.
The family will receive friends at the graveside from 9:30 a.m. until the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Lutheran Theological Cemetery, 61 N. Confederate Ave., Gettysburg, PA 17325; or to the religious organization of one's choice.

C. Ecile Shaffer, 73, of 824 W. Washington St., Hagerstown, died Monday, Aug. 30, 1999, at Julia Manor Nursing Home in Hagerstown.
Born Aug. 22, 1926, in Keedysville, she was the daughter of the late Ezra and Sabina K. Snively Baker.
Her husband, Chester B. Shaffer, died in 1984.
She was a graduate of Boonsboro High School and Hagerstown Business College.
She retired from First National Bank in 1985.
She was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, and played the piano for the Sunshine Class.
She was a member of Morris Frock Post 42, and Antietam Fire Co. Auxiliary, for which she was chaplin. She volunteered at Winter Street School, Food Bank, T.R.I.A.D. Program, and Blood Mobile.
She is survived by one son, William C. Shaffer of Hagerstown; one sister, Wilma Jean Johnson of Elkins, W.Va.; one granddaughter, Amy L. Brooks of Martinsburg; and two step grandsons, Dustin R. Coldsmith of Shippensburg, Pa., and Brandon L. Coldsmith of Hagerstown.
Services will be Friday at 10 a.m. at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown. The Revs. David B. Kaplan and Thomas L. Perry will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, West Washington Street, Hagerstown.
Visitation will be at the funeral home Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m.

Osna C. Raskin
Osna C. Smith Raskin of Baltimore, and formerly of Hagerstown, died Tuesday, Aug. 31, 1999.
She is survived by her husband, Edward Raskin; two daughters, Sara G. Fuld of Lebanon, Pa., and Linda M. Arnold of Baltimore; and three grandchildren.
Services will be Wednesday at Sol Levinson and Brothers Inc. in Baltimore.
The family will be in mourning through Friday at 2404 Hal Circle, Baltimore.

Dorothy J. Whetstone, 65, of 10740 Downsville Pike, Hagerstown, died Monday, Aug. 30, 1999, at her home.
Born June 21, 1934, in Greenville, S.C., she was the daughter of the late Paul and Laura Smith Stewart.
She was a member of Virginia Avenue Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, George R. Whetstone; two sons, Wes Whetstone of Gaithersburg, Md., and Allen Whetstone of Key West, Fla.; two brothers, Paul Stewart Jr. of Ogden, Utah, and Leon Stewart of Martinsburg, W.Va.; two grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Richard A. Gross will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.
