Dorothy E. Schilling
MYERSVILLE, Md. - Dorothy Elizabeth Sell Schilling, 76, of 9122 Myersville Road, died Tuesday, Aug. 31, 1999, at Washington Hospital Center.
Born Aug. 16, 1923, in Huntington County, Ind., she was the daughter of the late Fred M. and Julia Elizabeth Kern Sell.
She was a 1947 graduate of Lutheran Hospital Nurses Training in Fort Wayne, Ind., and had been employed at hospitals in Michigan. She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Christ Reformed United Church of Christ in Middletown, Md., Christ de Fille Sunday School class and Women's Guild. She taught Sunday school.
She was a member of Citizens Nursing Home Auxiliary.
She is survived by her husband, Harold R. Schilling; one daughter, Lou Ann Lushbaugh of Frederick, Md.; one son, Donald R. Schilling of Frederick; one sister, Margaret Dill of Galion, Ohio; and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Ernest Sell.
Services will be Friday at noon at Christ Reformed Church, Middletown. The Rev. Mark A. Wakefield will officiate. Burial will be in Reformed Cemetery, Middletown.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Donald B. Thompson Funeral Home, 31 E. Main St., Middletown.

Alyssa B. Pittsnogle
Alyssa Bre'ana Pittsnogle, 2, of 62 Devonshire Road, Hagerstown, died Sunday, Aug. 29, 1999, at her home.
Born March 17, 1997, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of Brian David and Tarynn M. Smith Pittsnogle.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by one brother, Dylan Ryan Pittsnogle, at home; maternal grandmother, Nancy Lee McCauley of Hagerstown; maternal grandfather, Samuel T. Smith of St. Petersburg, Fla.; maternal great-grandmother, Evelyn McClanahan of Hagerstown; paternal grandfather, William Pittsnogle of Hagerstown; paternal great-grandparents, Melvin and Fanny Rouzer of Hagerstown; one aunt, one uncle, and great-aunts, great-uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by paternal grandmother Sandra Pittsnogle; and maternal great-grandfather, Harold McClanahan.
Services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Revs. Tom Stottlemyer and Victor Fowlkes will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Wednesday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Lillian M. Henneberger
Lillian Maybelle Henneberger, 90, of 38 Fairground Ave., Hagerstown, died Sunday, Aug. 29, 1999, at her home.
Born July 22, 1909, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Alburtus and Cora Belle Beard Henneberger.
She retired from Washington County Free Library after 20 years. She formerly was employed by Dr. Osborne and Fairchild Aircraft.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
She was a member of Antietam Travel Club and volunteered at Western Maryland Hospital Center.
She is survived by two nieces, Cora G. Burger and Beverly L. Longanecker, both of Hagerstown; and two nephews, Alfred A. Henneberger Jr. of Smithsburg, and Phillip D. Bowers of Hagerstown.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Edna Mae Bowers; and two brothers, Alfred A. Henneberger and Frank B. Henneberger.
A memorial service will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, Hagerstown. The Rev. David M. Buchenroth will officiate.

Rowena R. Gostisha
WILLIAMSPORT - Rowena Roach Gostisha, 88, of Homewood Health Center, 16505 Virginia Ave., Williamsport, died Saturday, Aug. 28, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Sept. 3, 1910, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late George W. and Ella Hunsberger Roach.
Her husband, Franz C. Gostisha, died in 1997.
She was a graduate of North Hagerstown High School and University of Maryland School of Nursing.
She served in the U.S. Army Medical Corps during World War II in the European and South Pacific theaters.
She was a member of Christ Reformed Church.
She is survived by one brother, George W. Roach of Hagerstown; two nieces; one nephew; three grandnieces; two grandnephews; and one great-grandnephew.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Jane Lackey in 1986.
Her body was donated to the Maryland State Anatomy Board.
Dr. David H. Bloom
WILLIAMSPORT - Dr. David Howard Bloom, 78, of 16505 Virginia Ave., died Saturday, Aug. 28, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Sept. 6, 1920, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Edgar H. and Edna Parker Bloom.
He graduated from University of Maryland School Dental School.
He was a dentist in Hagerstown and Smithsburg from 1951 to 1997.
He was a lieutenant in the Navy, serving as a pilot during World War II.
He was in the Boy Scouts and was an Eagle Scout.
He was a member of American Dental Association.
He is survived by his wife, Doris J. Weagley Bloom; three daughters, Carol Ann Rawliegh of Julian, N.C., Sandra Jean Painter of Frederick, Md., and Barbara Suzanne Cook of Warrenton, Va.; one son, Gary David Bloom of Mililani, Hawaii, and five grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Reg Rice will officiate. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 2 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home.

Evelyn B. Bowman
Evelyn B. Bowman, 89, of 250 Mealey Parkway, Hagerstown, died Friday, Aug. 27, 1999, at Fahrney Keedy Memorial Home, Boonsboro.
Born Sept. 6, 1909, in Shenandoah, Va., she was the daughter of the late Fred Yelverton and Nettie Graves Eddins Mills.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Stanley Bowman, Jr., who died in 1994.
She was a member of Hagerstown Presbyterian Church.
She was a former member of Women's Club and A.A.R.P.
She is survived by one son, Frank S. Bowman III of Boonsboro; two grandchildren, Jodi L. Bowman and Todd M. Bowman, both of Boonsboro, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Stella M. Cornwell and Nita Mills; four brothers, Herman L. Mills, Fred Y. Mills Jr., Forrest Mills and Huton P. Mills.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, 40 E. Antietam St., Hagerstown. The Rev. John W. Ailstock and the Rev. J. Russell Butcher will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at the funeral home.
