Ruth H. Burroughs
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - Ruth H. Burroughs, 91, of 1440 Haverhill Road South, formerly of 111 Windsor Drive, Hagerstown, died Wednesday, Aug. 25, 1999, at Hospice of Palm Beach County in West Palm Beach.
Born March 12, 1908, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Gertrude Hudson.
Her husband, Paul F. Burroughs Sr., died in 1986.
She had been a member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Hagerstown.
She is survived by a daughter, Patricia Burroughs of West Palm Beach; and a son, Paul F. Burroughs Jr., also of West Palm Beach.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at St. Ann Catholic Church. The Rev. Edward W. Manalis will be celebrant. Entombment will be Monday at 10 a.m. in Rest Haven Cemetery. Deacon Richard Kunkle will officiate.
Arrangements are by Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home in Hagerstown.
Helen A. Schunemann
Helen Amanda Schunemann, 82, of 1180 Kenly Ave., died Wednesday, Aug. 25, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Jan. 18, 1917, in Manchester, N.H., she was the daughter of the late Joseph Eugene and Mary Teresa Mahoney Lavigne.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William G. Schunemann.
She graduated from Manchester High School.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
She was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3874 in Washington, D.C., and was head of the women's auxiliary.
She is survived by one daughter, Mary Flippen of Sharpsburg; two sons, Dennis Schunemann of Ijamsville, Md., and Robert Schunemann of Bowie, Md.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Eldora Garrison.
Services will be today at 8 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. George a Limmer will officiate. Graveside services will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in Fort Lincoln cemetery in Brentwood, Md. The Rev. William Berry will officiate.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Ruth A. Myers
WILLIAMSPORT - Ruth Anna Myers, 92, of Homewood Church Home, and formerly of 15444 Pennsylvania Ave. in State Line, Pa., died Thursday, Aug. 26, 1999, at the home.
Born Oct. 30, 1906, in Kemps Mill, she was the daughter of the late Harvey and Annie Henneberger Brewer.
Her husband, Norman C. Myers, died in 1991.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ in State Line and the Women's Guild.
She had been a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of State Line Ruritan Club.
She is survived by two sons, Robert B. Myers and Roy C. Myers, both of State Line; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Florence McDonald and an infant sister, Grace Brewer; and a brother, Robert Brewer.
Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle, Pa. The Revs. Paula Ouderkirk and Edwin Higginbottom will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park in Hagerstown.
The family will receive friends Saturday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

Clarence E. Harshman
Clarence Edgar Harshman, 86, of 419 Pangborn Blvd., died Thursday, Aug. 26, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Jan. 25, 1913, in Prophetstown, Ill., he was the son of the late Ora Byron and Elva A. Hammond Harshman.
He worked as a city bus mechanic for Potomac Edison Bus Line, Blue Ridge Bus Line and Antietam Transit Bus Line. He retired from Baker Drive-A-Way.
He was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church.
He was a member of Western Maryland Hospital Center Auxiliary and Teamsters Local Union 992.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Charlotte Brennan Harshman; one daughter, Judith A. Bloyer of Hagerstown; two sons, C. Michael Harshman and Ronald S. Harshman, both of Hagerstown; three grandchildren; three step grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Vera Wolfe, Clara Harshman and Elsie Harshman; and a brother, John Walter Harshman.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown. The Revs. David B. Kaplan and Thomas L. Perry will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, West Washington Street, Hagerstown.

Ithel T. Williams Jr.
BOONSBORO - Ithel Thomas "Tom" Williams Jr., 69, of 19230 Swinging Bridge Road, and formerly of Miami, died Thursday, Aug. 26, 1999, at Reeders Memorial Home in Boonsboro.
Born Sept. 29, 1929, in Miami, he was the son of the late Ithel Thomas Williams Sr. and Gertrude E. Smith Williams.
He was a professional firefighter in Miami, and retired as a firefighter and fire marshal from Takoma Park (Md.) Fire Department.
He had been a member of the the Florida National Guard.
He is survived by two sons, Thomas Lee Williams of San Francisco, and Fred R. Williams of Boonsboro; and two grandchildren.
Services will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Hagerstown Church of the Nazarene, 141 N. Edgewood Drive, Hagerstown. The Rev. Richard A. Wilson will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Gardens in Hagerstown.
The family will receive friends at the church Saturday at 9:30 a.m.

Franklin C. Wyand
Franklin Carroll "Red" Wyand, 74, of 803 Park Road, died Wednesday, Aug. 25, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Feb. 6, 1925, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late William Franklin and Dora Socks Wyand.
He graduated from Smithsburg High School.
He was employed by Fairchild Aircraft for 40 years, retiring in 1988.
He was a member of Maranatha Brethren Church and Ambassadors Sunday School Class.
He is survived by his wife, Edith Dorothy Wilson Wyand; two daughters, Gloria Schlotterbeck and Dorie J. Culler, both of Hagerstown; three sons, John Wyand and George Wyand, both of Hagerstown, and Randy Wyand of Greencastle, Pa.; two brothers, George Wyand of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Richard Wyand of Hagerstown; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Shorter and Mary Lou Showe; and one brother, Glenn Wyand.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd. The Rev. Jay Fretz will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
