John W. DeLouney
CLEAR SPRING - John William DeLouney, 79, of 13805 National Pike, died Friday, July 30, 1999, at Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born Nov. 14, 1919, in Sharpsburg, he was the son of the late Charles Cleveland and Alice Virginia Crampton DeLouney.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose Mary DeLouney, in 1994.
He retired from Fairchild Aircraft Industires of Hagerstown after 41 years of service.
He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Navy Reserve.
He is survived by two daughters, Sandra J. DeLouney of Clear Spring and Linda L. Blickenstaff of Hagerstown; a son, Terry L. DeLouney of Rohrersville, Md.; two sisters, Vivian Norris of Marysville, Pa., and Martha Stimmel of Pennsylvania; a brother, Charles DeLouney of Hagerstown; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.
Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Donald Edwin Thompson Funeral Home, 13607 National Pike, Clear Spring. The Rev. Mary Amundson will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown.
The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.

Mary L. Roof
Mary Louise Roof, 83, a resident of Ravenwood Lutheran Village, Hagerstown, died Saturday, July 31, 1999, at Ravenwood.
Born Sept. 13, 1915, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Ellis and Alice V. Ruth Roof.
She was employed by Victor Hosiery and Interwoven Stocking Co.
She was a member of Christ's Reformed Church.
She is survived by a niece, Judith A. Vanderpool of Oregon; three nephews, Charles Ronald Martin of Waynesboro, Pa., Gary Roof and George O. Funkhouser, both of Hagerstown; two great-nieces; four great-nephews and a cousin.
She was preceded in death by four sisters, Violet Martin, Garnetta Funkhouser, Vivian Roof and Jayne O. Roof; and two brothers, Elgin Roof and Harold Roof.
Services will be Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Don R. Stevenson will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Tuesday one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
Alberta M. Schick
Alberta Mae Schick, 81, of 14014 Marsh Pike, Hagerstown, and formerly of 1057 Carroll Heights Blvd., Hagerstown, died Thursday, July 29, 1999, at Avalon Manor Health Care Center, Hagerstown.
Born May 12, 1918, in Adah, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Harry Owen King and Nancy Arnsberger King.
Her husband, Laurin Merrill Schick, died in 1999.
She is survived by two sisters, Genevieve Wilson of New York, and Ruth Ewart of Hagerstown; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
Graveside services will be held today at 10:30 a.m. at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park in Hagerstown. Pastor William H. Freed Jr. will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.

Maryrose Binney
Maryrose Binney, 76, of 11107 Shady Brook Court, Hagerstown, died Thursday, July 29, 1999, at Western Maryland Hospital Center.
Born Jan. 19, 1923, in Washington, D.C., she was the daughter of the late Leroy F. and Agatha A. Doherty Jamison.
She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband, Frank Leo Binney Jr.; two daughters, Teresa VanStratum of Glen Burnie, Md., and Ann Metler of Dunkirk, Md.; one son, Frank Leo Binney III of Hagerstown; one brother, Leroy Jamison of Texas; one sister, Alice Fitzgerald of Silver Spring, Md.; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 17630 Virginia Ave., Hagerstown. The Rev. Christopher Moore will officiate. Burial will be in Rocky Gap Veterans Cemetery, Flintstone, Md.
The family will receive friends at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.

Frances E. Henry
Frances E. Payton Henry, 76, of 11102 Lakeside Drive, Hagerstown, and formerly of 122 Elm St., died Friday, July 30, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
Born June 5, 1923, in Washington County, she was the daughter of the late Gerold B. and Esther F. Moats Hemphill.
Her husband, Charles R. Henry, died in 1968.
She was formerly employed by A&P for 34 years.
She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church.
She was a member of Moose Auxiliary and the auxiliary of Junior Fire Co.
She is survived by two sisters, Margaret E. Spessard and Katie Boward, both of Hagerstown; one brother, Frederick Hemphill of Fresno, Calif.; one grandson, Ronald W. Paton II of Hagerstown, with whom she resided; nieces and nephews; and her caregiver, Shirley Baker.
She was preceded in death by two sons, John Dean Payton and Ronald Wayne Payton; and four brothers, Donald Hemphill, Henry Hemphill, Paul Hemphill and Blaine Hemphill.
Services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Victor Zuck will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
