Paul L. Stine Jr.
KNOXVILLE, Md. - Paul Luther Stine Jr., 60, of 4004 Olive School Road, died Thursday, July 29, 1999, at his home.
Born Oct. 20, 1938, in Knoxville, he was the son of the late Paul Luther and Julia Eleanor Dryden Stine Sr.
He was a farmer in the Knoxville area.
He was a life member of Petersville Luther Chapel.
He is survived by two sisters, Alice Jean Stine of Knoxville and Janet Schmidt of Frederick, Md.; a niece; two nephews; a great-niece; a great-nephew and a cousin.
Services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick. The Rev. Carroll L. Boyer will officiate. Burial will be in Saint Mark's Cemetery, Petersville, Md.
The family will receive friends Monday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

May E. Smith
May E. "Maize" Smith, 54, of 3 W. North Ave., Hagerstown, died Thursday, July 29, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Feb. 17, 1945, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Frank S. and Mary E. Snively Keyes.
She was employed in the housekeeping department of the Frederick, Md., Holiday Inn.
She was a member of Ebenezer AME Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Victoria L. Smith of Hagerstown; three sisters, Arnetta Doleman, Mary V. Rideout and Gussie E. Keyes, all of Hagerstown; three sons, Richard E. Smith, Aaron S. Hill and Dwayne E. Smith, all of Hagerstown; four brothers, Kenneth E. Keyes, Reginald S. Keyes, Vincent W. Keyes and Russell V. Keyes, all of Hagerstown; and six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Frank M. "Sonny" Keyes.
Service will be Monday at 10 a.m. at Ebenezer AME Church, Hagerstown. The Rev. Leroy Jackson will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac St., Hagerstown; and Monday one hour prior to the service at the church.

Robert W. Thomas
OCALA, Fla. - Robert W. Thomas, 53, of Ocala, died Monday, July 26, 1999, at Munroe Regional Medical Center.
Born in Keedysville, he was the son of Robert C. Thomas and the late Rosalie Kretzer. He was the stepson of Helen Thomas of McIntosh, Fla.
He was a heavy equipment mechanic for Spruce Creek.
He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving with the U.S. Army.
He was of the Lutheran faith.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Thomas of Ocala.
Arrangements are by Hiers Funeral Home in Ocala.
Barbara L. Seeger
FREDERICK, Md. - Barbara L. Seeger, 94, of 600 Magnolia Ave., and more recently of Frederick Health Care Center, died Thursday, July 29, 1999, at the center.
Born Feb. 11, 1905, in Frederick, she was the daughter of the late Harry N. and Lydia Haller Lochner.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur M. Seeger, in 1985.
She was a 1923 graduate of Frederick High School.
She worked for C & P Telephone Co. for 11 years; and was the bookkeeper for the Great Frederick Fair.
She was a member of Evangelical Lutheran Church.
She was a member of Frederick Needle Art Club; Tall Cedars of Lebanon, and The Columbia Lodge.
She is survived by two daughters, Lois Filby of Frederick and Barbara Ann Hayward of St. Petersburg, Fla.; grandchildren, Jeffrey Brubaker of Frederick, Lynn Alba and Mark Hayward, both of Florida; a niece and great-nieces.
A graveside service will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick. The Rev. Barbara J. Bornemann will officiate. Those wishing to attend should assemble within the main gate of the cemetery by 10:45 a.m.
There will be no viewing or visitation.

Carrie M. Miller
BIG POOL - Carrie May Miller, 87, of Pecktonville Road, died Thursday, July 29, 1999, at her home.
Born Oct. 14, 1911, in Big Pool, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Albert and Annie Elizabeth Brindendolph Mills.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur H. Miller, in 1982.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Parkhead United Methodist Church in Big Pool.
She is survived by a daughter, Janice D. DeShong of Big Pool; a son, Aris T. Miller of Big Pool; a brother, Ralph Miller of Big Pool; a granddaughter; and two great-grandsons.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Gertie Stanley; and three brothers, Alfred Mills, Lester Mills and Ramon Mills.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Parkhead United Methodist Church. The Rev. Dennis Whitmore will officiate. Burial will be in Parkhead Cemetery.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 141 W. Main St., Hancock; and Saturday at 10 a.m. at the church. The funeral home will be open today from 2 p.m.
David M. McElroy
WILLIAMSPORT - David Milford "Toots" McElroy, 87, of 111 W. Salisbury St., died Tuesday, July 27, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Oct. 16, 1911, in Williamsport, he was the son of the late George and Eliza J. McCoy McElroy.
He was employed at Hagerstown Junior College, retiring in 1977. He previously was employed by Federal Silk Mill in Williamsport.
A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy.
He was a member of Williamsport United Methodist Church.
He was a member of Potomac Post 202 American Legion in Williamsport, and AARP.
He is survived by his wife, Sarah Albertha Scott McElroy; one daughter, Linda M. Shirley of Maugansville; and one sister, Sylvia Barnhart of Homewood Retirement Center, Williamsport.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Blanche Bent; and three brothers, Ernest McElroy, Joseph McElroy and Leonard McElroy.
Services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport. The Rev. Richard A. Kroll will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Williamsport.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home, which will be open after 9 a.m.
